I find it interesting how T.O is considered such a bad guy so much so that he was denied the HOF multiple times but Brett Favre had no trouble getting in after he..... * Refused to show up to training camp every year * Was interception prone throughout his career * Abused drugs and had to go to rehab 3 times *Caught on tape sexually harassing an employee
None of that shit matters dude. Statistically..both Farve and TO are amongst the greatest football players to ever play their said positions. NEWSFLASH: When it comes to getting voted into the hall on the first ballot? Intangibles matter. They always have...they always will. Brett Farve - fantastic teammate, made his teammates better players, had a fantastic relationship with the media. Terrell Owens - selfish, me first attitude, locker room cancer....over and over again. Never once blamed himself about the shenanigans he created. That's the difference. Should this matter? Maybe not. But it does matter. And its ALWAYS been this way.
Go Getter Did I say it mattered? You doing all this typing for fucking nothing. Didn't even read all that dumb shit you typed out. The point was calling out the disingenuous hypocrisy people show for various players that's it dude.
Admit it DFB....you read EVERYTHING I typed. That's why you angrily replied to my comments because you didn't like my answer. I don't know why you seem so upset. I never said I agreed with how the voters pick who gets in and when. I just said intangibles matter. Being a good teammate and being well liked by the media matters. and to answer ExposeTheTruth....ugh. Race? Really? Just stop it. I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan. and I LOVE Michael Irvin. You want to talk about his history of freebasing and banging prostitutes over the course of his career? How bout him holding a knife to a rookies throat in a barber chair because he wanted to get his haircut first while he was all whacked out on blow??? Whoa....I just realized something....Michael Irvin is black. AND Michael Irvin had his fair share of off the field issues. Yet he got into the Hall of Fame....how could that POSSIBLY be? Because not only was he statistically a hall of fame player...he was also a fantastic, driven, inspirational teammate and he was more than fair when dealing with the media. Instead of getting all butthurt and pissy..why don't we all attempt to have a halfway decent quid pro quo about the T.O debacle.
The best judge of Hall of Fame worthiness would be a rotating committee of former players and coaches. People who actually knows what it takes to excel at the highest level. Most of these writers are non athletic alcoholics with poor diets. They vote for who they like as people, rather than who deserves to be inducted based on the greatness of their play.
Never understood how a bunch of hacks decide wjho gets into hof. Wtf do they know about what it takes to achieve that type of excellence. I was dumbfounded and still am that its not former players.
I loved what T.O. did by celebrating himself with the people he loves in the environment where he was most comfortable. Terrell Owens did it his way and as long as he's happy, then fine. I loved this because it showed his perspective and uniqueness - the man did a great job working and got the best out of his ability; sad thing is he didn't have a QB outside of Steve Young his rookie year that could really give him the ball in an fluid offense. I love how T.O. just took a dietary bowel movement on the Hall of Fame and the sports writers as well as those people in the HOF who didn't want him there anyway. T.O. should have his own Hall of Fame.
sleepypete55 Ain’t nobody hating on the kicker but would you take him before Dawkins, Owens, Lester Hayes, Cliff Branch, Stanley Morgan I can go on you know Randy Gradishar, Steve Atwater, LeRoy Butler.
My question is why are the sports writers the ones who get people in the Hall of Fame and not the fans or the people that watch the sport that's my question
Get the hell out of here. You know what, i got to head down to Lens Crafters and see if they can form fit me for some glasses. I had no idea terrell Owens was a so called black man 😂😂
My whole thing with the T.O. and McNabb situation is when 1 time T.O. came to him and said hey man I was open on the sideline and from my understanding it wasn't hostile just giving him his opinion. And McNabb came back and said I'll throw to whoever the F*#% I want to. In a hostile way so that lets me know the relationship McNabb had with T.O. and that McNabb was most likely out to get T.O. since the 1st day he got there.
I remember when Michael Strahan played with the New York Giants and broke the sack record against the Green Bay Packers. At the end of that game he was sitting at his locker and a reporter in the crowd asked him how did he feel when Brett Favre "let" Strahan sack him to break the record. Although the reporter was right, it was apparent that the purpose of the reporters question was to disrespect Michael Strahan and belittle his achievement. When Mike heard this question, he responded by saying - who ever asked me that question I want you to come ask me outside at the end of this Q & A but you probably will be a coward and not do it -. I am paraphrasing, but some reporters do coward ass s*** like this on a regular basis so I can understand Terrell Owens frustration.
@@Frankiestein88 It was a legitimate question. I think I said that. It was the timing of the question because it came at the end of a comment that Strahan made. His answer was in response to another disrespectful question and the reporter piggybacked on this.
Reason why Moss went in 1st Ballot and T.O. 3rd Ballot, its simple really.... Brady had Moss's back with the Patriots in 2007 when Moss rebuilded his image and gain love from the fanbase. While McNabb Hook, Lined, and *SINKED* Terrell Owens image by forcing T.O. out of Philadelphia over the jealousy McNabb felt over the fanbase love for T.O. That really ended Owens image. Thats simply it.
Look its plain and simple. If you have the accomplishments, you should be a Hall of Famer and if you are worthy of the first ballot category then personal reasons or attitude should not come in the way. And for all the accomplishments that I have seen, since I don't watch American Football that much, Terrell Owens deserved a first ballot HOF recognition. Now I would agree with +ChroniclesofJudah 144 that Terrell should have gone to the official ceremony and do something that Michael Jordan did in 2009 NBA Hall of Fame or something along those lines and be honest. Many people disliked Jordan's speech but I loved it
TO always brought crazy competitive energy to the field. Hall of Fame? Definitely ..however, he was a pain in the ass for sure. One of my favorites was when the 9ers were struggling with Jeff Garcia at QB, TO goes in front of TV cameras and basically, accuses him of being a homosexual. He was very entertaining.
There was no way they would allow moss in and not T.O. The backlash would have been pretty sizable. We all know a large portion of the HOF members had some off the field issues (some of which was egregious). Now that T.O. has been inducted, the media will push him to side
Im 100% with TO. He should have been let in way earlier. I gained respect for him by not cow towing to a bunch of people who didn't want him in when he was a clear 1st ballot HOF.
You do know folks will say McNabb was the leader of the Team at the time but not everyone really rocked with him. You say that for public consumption. They probably knew he was kinda fake, and T.O. exposed it with his own energy for greatness that the other players gravitated to.. that is why during the playoff McNabb was exposed so much for his lack of conditioning being a QB who was has good mobile ability to be that out of shape for the biggest game of the season. And T.O. just needed someone to throw him the damn ball.. lol
Thank you brah for being The Voice Of Reason. Can Sportswriters be total pricks? Yes. All through history. Ted Williams had to put up with that shit. Dude hits .406. DiMag had the hitting streak, more New York Sportswriters, he's more congenial, he wins the MVP. A tiny comparison but you get what I mean. Yeah transparency. Good idea. But once you're in, you're in and you missed a really good time, a time to be with people who love you, whom you love, and ALL those others can show their love for him. Like Trump not showing up for Barbara Bush's funeral. She said some things he didn't agree with. Pay your respects to the others that were not "disrespectful" to you then. He also missed a historic moment of all five living presidents in a photoshoot. But that's not the main point I'm trying to say here. **************** JUST because of a few the rest have to be denied. Go to the induction ceremony. Make your speech and in the speech tell them what you feel there at the hall of fame induction cetemony telling them what pricks they are. ***************
Mr. ChroniclesOfJudah 144...you have great informative videos, but in the beginning of this video you said the writers will make sure to never do this again...then later on you said that what he did was basically in vain...huh? That was the whole point of his choice. Please elaborate further...
Assuming he catches this comment.. but maybe the context was different. However from what I remember, if they expose the writers then that is why he said the writers will make sure to never do this again.. everyone would know who voted for whom. So if it is in vain as he stated it is because it wasn't The Hall that stopped him from entering with the other greats, so why punish them for the circus that the writers were running on T.O.?
That's the whole point. They've made it a situation where you have to kiss the sports media structures butts to get what you earned. Race will always be a part of sports but it is a meritocracy for the most part at that level. The best player plays regardless of creed, color, background and the most productive are typically rewarded. If it wasn't that way Tom Brady would've never edged out Drew Bledsoe. Sports is such a meritocracy that many factors in your pay structure revolve around your performance.
Dawkins wasn't the source for Skip Bayless it was Hugh Douglas. Skip has gone on record and said it was Hugh Douglas, he let it slip on day. TO and Douglas got into a fight in the locker room. Matter of fact TO was in the hot tub and got out of the hot tub and put hands on Douglas.
I can believe T.O. is black. I thought he was a dark brownish.. He betrayed my visual sanity.. And for that he is not a 1st ballot HOF.. Incredible.. Just when you think you know somebody.. Theyre black lmao

I disagree with your take. I give T.O. credit for not bowing to the powers that be,

Chattanooga is my home town. Props for him doing it his way & becoming a hall of fame player

I think a lot more disgruntled greats will go dwn this path.
Randy moss went to they raiders and lost out on his tds and yards
