Talking about black bug. I actually have tried few things. I have a pretty good idea about what killed them in my tank in the space of 3-4 weeks but will need to test it again for confirmation whenever I come across them. It got rid of vermitoid snails, the small glass spirotud ones, the asterina starfish, the bristle eorms too...sadly killed off all my other snail too but small price to pay tbh. Gotta go on a hunt for them see who has the blug bugs so can run a controlled test and figure out the right dosage and steps etc, necessary to wipe them out. They are ferocious indeed and horrible to have so deffo would be helpful to have a way to treat the problem.
Actually, everyone just calls them black bugs but yes, they are the NAEF...some call them blue bugs...grey bugs...doesn't matter really. Either way, the worst problem I came across in reefing...makes fighting dinos and other issues that most dread, look like a complete joke in comparison.
I had a lightly stocked nano tank & ended up with monti eating nudibranchs....I started doing that turkey blaster thing every time I saw pests & I used KZ flatwormstop + coral booster for about a year...& I haven't seen nudi pests in 8+ months I recently dipped + transferred them to a frag QT tank to prep for a new system ...Hoping not to see them again 😅 (I have stopped using the KZ stuff & have not seen a resurgence)
Man,. I have them in all my tanks, and they are great!!! The only problem is that I cannot have acans or gonnis or lobos, because they eat them. @@DirectCherry
I have a question about using 2 Membranes instead of 1: What I imagine... using 2 membranes instead of 1, we get higher on TDS, right ? because, the waste water from the 1º membrane, has a more concentrated amount of poluents... Am I right ?
Yellow wrasse (Halichoeres chrysus) and jade wrasse (Halichoeres chloroperterus) are not Coris wrasse!! Stop calling them that! Coris wrasse are big and not reef-safe as they are known for throwing rocks around such as the red coris wrasse (Coris gaimard). Halichoeres wrasse like the yellow and green are reef safe and are pest eaters. This is one of the worst misconceptions in the hobby.

Can't consistent dipping cause problems too? Several times a week seems quite harsh. Or is that Monti specific?
The Black bug's name is NAEFW (New Acropora Eating Flatworm)

ONE Harlequin.. took out 300+ Visable asterina starfish in less than a month!
Hi BRS , Berghia need a lot more credit than you just gave them. They are an aptasia plague, you just need to seed your tank with 2 successfully.
Im surprised nobody ever mentions Australian Stripey fish.... I had a million Aiptasia and one wiped them out in a matter of days
My local coral shop had the same experience. Wiped out ALL the aiptasia. However, another LFS near me said they had aggression issues with theirs.

I believe they are just referring to wrasses with “pointy” noses (evolved to peck little creatures off the rocks). Not a specific “sharp nosed wrasse”
I’d say a turkey baster is an essential must have reefing tool. Who knew that it had so many uses.
