In a wide-ranging interview that aired on CBS on Sunday night, Harry and Meghan described painful discussions with unnamed family members about the colour of their son's skin, losing royal protection and the intense pressures that led the Duchess of Sussex to contemplate suicide.
The interview with Oprah Winfrey was the couple's first since they stepped down from royal duties and the two-hour special included numerous revelations likely to reverberate on both sides of the Atlantic.
Buckingham Palace are yet to respond to the allegations made in the interview.

He says they’re trapped, well, I think he’s the trapped one now.
In the 1917 letter, George V declared that the great-grandchildren of the monarch would no longer be princes or princesses, except for the eldest son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales.
In our current situation, that means that Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William, automatically became a prince, but not Archie, even though they are both great-grandsons of the Queen. It was not personal and both of them know this.
So then why does Meghan bring it up and Harry not correct her?

Diana said she liked to do things differently, that's why she didn't think she could become queen one day. She always admitted publicly her flaws and shortcomings. How many of us can do that, especially when you are a princess and everyone is basically hunting you and sees you like a role model?
How can Harry compare his mother's suffering to Megan's, when she can't even reach Diana's little finger? What contribution did she bring to the royal house, except constant victimisation and entitlement? Diana worked hard, and was all for people.
Harry is not too far from her, are sources that debunk many of their lies, the only difference between these two is that Megan is in charge. A life built on lies...

I am an aboriginal Australian. My husband is a white Englishman. EVERYONE in our family asked what colour skin our baby would have. Was thus racism? No. It was a family being genuinely excited about what the next generation would Bring.
There is a difference In Contexts. The context in which your family / husbands family may mean could be different to the context in which harry and Meghan were asked.

It happens with same race couples too.. like when two Indians get married & since they have different skin tones, the family is intrigued, they love the child nevertheless. But some families can feel disappointed if the child turns out to have deeper skin tone & that’s problematic. Depends on the context in which it was said really. My assumption is, the RF was probably excited? Because they’d have someone, looking different from them in a beautiful way? The monarchy has met all types of people from all walks of life, for centuries. I don’t know how they can be so blatantly racist.

I’m Latina married to a German, we all wonder how the baby was gonna be, if he would look more than his dad. Even among Latinos we ask ourselves the same because Latinos we have dark skin and fair skin in the same family. We don’t consider it racist. We are multi color… anyways

Alot of this is taken out of all context. Archie not being a Prince isn't different to protocol, great grandchildren of the monarch aren't entitled to be called prince or princess and haven't been for many generations. Other grandchildren and great grandchildren of the monarch dont get security paid for by the UK tax payers either as they are capable of paying for their own security.

Honestly the thing that hurt me was when she brought up how beautiful Princess Kate was called “Waity Katy” like come on don’t bring that up. And Diana. Meghan was in her thirties with life experiences and the wisdom that comes with it. Diana was a naive barley legal nineteen year old.
And as far as I’m concerned Harry is only the Duke of Sussex. The only reason William’s kids are princes and princesses is because the Queen said so. Really they wouldn’t have been anyway since they’re only the kids of a duke of Cambridge rather than the Prince of wales. Her kids would be great grandchildren to the Queen but not the children of the next in line. Harry is behind William’s kids in the line of succession. So Archie is no where near the position to be a Prince.

There’s so much to unpack of this utterly ridiculous interview. The mere fact that grandiose narcissist Meghan claimed she’s suicidal is very poor taste. And Harry falls for her charms (given she’s a wonderful actress) left, right and Centre. I tell you what - I don’t see this union lasting long. She will milk him for all he’s worth and leave him and take the kids away. She’s far from it. She loves the attention and perks she’s received since marrying into the royal family but didn’t want to conform to the institution. I thought it was unfair of Harry to say his father and brother are trapped, implying that they are in a miserable position, knowing that there’s no plausible or positive way they can deny they feel that way. And he seemed at that moment to appear jealous, his expression.
Harry lived it, I think he would know. The royals are trapped in a way, trapped by the public image, always having the public eye on them, having to let go of personal dreams etc. because they need to keep up the royal charade etc. It's a similar situation that child stars go through, and look at how many of _them_ turned out fine. Psychological damage is still damage, even though you can't see it on the surface.

@@faithchambers3986 As a suicidal person myself, I feel offended that Meghan is using that to cause empathy and pity since she's clearly never been suicidal. She was smiling when talking about it and she has NPD. Plus she was clearly trying to emulate Diana with that story, just like Diana explained in some interviews how she was suicidal when she was pregnant with William. It is quite obvious that she uses that to control Harry because that's a very sensitive topic for him.

I agree with Lady C on this totally. Prince Harry is a patreon of many mental health support organisations, he seeked therapy himself and got that help. I cant see him or his wife Meghan being refused to get help or organise help for themselves. Its nonsense! Same with black skin issue- Im slavic and Im darker than her now, Im tanned heavily. Chris- CBS paid Oprah's company Harpo between $5 and $7 MILLION for the rights to air the interview. All the small excerpts are also owned by Harpo. Oprah has made a killing !

I was always wondering what my baby would look like before he was born. Would he be dark, light, blonde, blue-eyed, brown-eyed, etc. We have it all in my family. Wondering and saying "I hope it isn't...something' is very different from being curious. Oprah has coolly and intelligently interviewed a thousand people from far more provocative situations, so her astonished 'Whattt???!!!" wears very thin.

Two thoughts on this from me.
One, it’s only a big issue because they make it one. ‘Couple fall out with in-laws’ - hardly groundbreaking stuff or unheard-of phenomena. If they wished for public attention to be drawn away from the issue and themselves (be “left alone”), why are they on Oprah?!
Secondly, it’s really hard to feel sorry for two people who can leave their (literal) palace in England and move to a huge estate in the US, (and have absolutely NO money worries at all), when I’m worried about whether I’ll have a job next month, where myself and my family might be living, and so on.
And sign two media deals.
