@JillianEve I went on and found it impossibly confusing trying to find the starter pack...I do already have the curve ruler so I'm thinking maybe I don't need it...not sure.
I have been looking at this system!!! Thanks for the video. (Also, ALL body shaming (or commenting on someone's body) is unacceptable and I am sorry this is the reason for the video.)
I'm sorry people feel so comfortable commenting on your (or anyone's) appearance. It literally has nothing to do with your content. That being said, struggling with body dismorphia is extremely relatable.
People feel free to just be their worst selves on the internet. The anonymity makes them forget they are talking about real people and they would never get away with this type of behavior out in the real world.
Video adds 20 lbs visually. It surprising how many people don’t know this. People are different sizes for different reasons. There are too many Mrs Kravitzes these days.
hello fellow endo-foolery-friend! People sure do love to have opinions about our bodies, don't they? And positive or negative those opinions don't feel very good when they're the result of something that is causing chaos for our health. You have one of the most calming, inviting crafting/making channels I have ever come across, and I don't believe I have ever felt so warmed or welcomed be someone I've not actually met. Don't you pay that voice any mind, you're an absolute darling and we all appreciate you just as you are!
The labels remind me of the series of pictures of tools to use on a stubborn bolt. Various sized wrenches start out as please, pretty please, I wasn’t asking, etc. Until the tool is a welding torch labeled “It can’t be tight if it’s a liquid!”
These comments always say more about the person making them rather than who they're aimed at. I really appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. Ha, love your humour! And love the vest. May you revel in the joy of being alive to wear it every time you put it on!
Oh Evie sweetheart… My heart breaks for you. As someone who took almost 50 years to feel just about slightly okay with my body, and who now looks at pictures of herself from even as recently as five years ago and wonders what the heck I was having issues with, someone who works hard every day to slay those invisible demons, I think I have an inkling of how you felt. Please take care of yourself. You are a gorgeous lady, and I think I can speak for most of us when I tell you we want you to be healthy and happy. Please take care of yourself. Be kind to yourself. Hugs from an internet stranger in faraway Belgium. 💖 P.S. : That vest is beautiful, and suits you so well!
I'm so freaking glad you had a doctor who cared more about your life than your size and that you're still with us! I've been dealing with an undiagnosed ED for 20+ years and have steadily gained weight over the time (body goes into starvation mode and hangs on to food more and more tightly, basically.) All that to say, i see you, I'm proud of you, keep taking good care of you❤
Your “reenactment” was probably so familiar to stitchers who’ve attempted anything after 11pm 😂 You had me cackling! I love the vest and extra love the buttons. Customizing clothes is the best part of making them (in my opinion.) Keep being your amazing self-we watch you to cheer you on and be inspired by you. You’re doing a really, really great job 💕
Ooooh! Thank you for the tiny tip about using a pin as a stopper to keep the seam ripper from going past the button hole! I’ve never noticed anyone doing that before but when you did I was like, “omg of course!!!! That’s genius!!!” Thank you Evie! I learn something amazing in every one of your videos! 🧶💗🙏🏽
You are SO not alone. I get the one closest one and then learned to draft. NOTHING in today's market fits correctly, I contend, even if you are a size 2 or 4. Although my sister is a size 4 and looks so adorable in the walk-away dress I made for her, BUT I even had to redraft that one - make the arm holes smaller, raise the back neckline and adjust the front darts. And she has the exact measurements required of the pattern. I, however, inherited the norwegian dairy made genes of the family and am built like a brick wall - large tracks of land out front and powerful muscular arms and broad shoulders. I am NOT a size 4, however a real word 18, and a pattern 24-28 depending. Oh and I'm sorry some blowhole got under your skin. We are hardest on ourselves and don't need anyone helping us torture ourselves mentally. (tweed weaver here)
I’m so glad you got a moderator! The trolls are relentless. I’m happy you’re back. I admire you so much. Just know there are far more of us out here who see and recognize the beauty in the whole person that you are. ❤
I have a rule for projects now, where if I am in the headspace of “I just want to get this finished”, that is the immediate signal to pack it up for the night because it will 1000% end with making more work for myself if I keep working then. It’s especially important with power tools, because nobody got time to cut off their hand. What I have not mastered, however, is breaking out of the “it’s just one more quick thing and then I will be done”. Because it’s either never just one more thing, or it’s never quick. I failed to eat lunch until after 3 pm yesterday because I was trying to finish “one more quick thing” that had ballooned into 5 hours of failing to do the thing. Your 1 am struggle is very relatable!
You have brought joy to thousands, tens of thousands of people! I’ve been around since 2019 or so. Everyone one of your videos always makes my day! Thank you so much for all you have done for us fibre friends!
I get it. I have the scars on my body and my soul to remind me of exactly how you feel. I just want to give you a hug and assure you that you are beautiful. Anyone who actually follows along with your videos knows what an awesome human you are. so, HUG!
Evie, you are a gem of a human. And no matter what you look like, all I see is a dear friend. I studied archeology in school, and I've knitted for well over a decade. When I got my first spindle you taught me how to use it, and how to make yarn I actually wanted to use. Now I have a wheel and it has brought so much peace and joy and healing into my life. I'm so glad you took a break when you needed it. And it's so good to see you again!
I love your point about sewing shortcuts not existing. I recently made some decisions while quilting in a hurry that led to hours of extra work! I'm also sorry you got shamed. You're a beautiful, creative woman. I can't wait to see your next video.
I’m so proud of you!!! I’ve been a sewer for years, I have been a soap box person forever 😂!!!! Please Please don’t ever fall prey to this world’s awful clothing sizing system. We aren’t a number, we are never defined by anything commercial and never will be!! So bravo we will make our beautiful clothes that fit our bodies and our personality! ❤
You and your vest are both PERFECT! 😁🤩😍 I'm sorry that someone hurt you so deeply, but am glad you are back because your humor, cleverness and bright light were definitely missed!!
Here in UK that is a waistcoat. It looks so good on you, well done! I have the Lutterloh system somewhere! I tried a pattern but was disappointed with the results but maybe I had done something wrong. You have encouraged me to get it out again. You are beautiful, nobody has the right to criticise anyone because they don't fit into their own ideals. It is so upsetting. I have had this treatment as well.
Girl, you should know we all love you! Your videos have helped me improve my confidence with embracing my nerdy and quirky side!!! You and Mark are the best. ❤ I am a larger guy, I've never been "small", I'm just big.. all around. Stocky, tall, wide, whatever. I tell people I came out of the womb at 220lb and just kept growing 😂 I have recently started on Wegovy for weight loss, and it has helped. I'm down 28 pounds and anytime people ask, I have no shame! I'll tell them. They usually act like I should be ashamed of seeking assistance with weight management, but the way I look at it... If I am happy, if I am proud, if I am bettering myself, to hell with all the rest! I have been picked on since I was a kid... The word "husky" still makes my eye twitch... But I refuse to let anything get to me anymore!! Growing up a gay, chubby, red headed, nerd, in Eastern, Ky, made life hell for the first 25 years of my life! I can't let it get to me anymore. Since coming to this epiphany, it felt like a calming cloud slowly enveloped my body. It was like a "click" that happened... Such a wonderful feeling. My shoulders feel lighter, even. I also went from having no potential suitors to having guys actually asking me out, just because my entire aura was more approachable because I felt confidence within myself. Once I accepted myself for who I am, everything kinda just fell into place without even realizing it. ❤❤❤ Never let someone alter your feelings of yourself. You're a beautiful, unique, quirky, fun, nerdy, sexy woman! ❤❤❤ Your new bangs are 10/10, you always have the coolest hair color that should've been your natural color! You're one of the most creative people I've ever seen! Your kindness and love is addicting. You inspire me to be a better person and knowing you were(and are) an educator for children, gives me hope that there are still good people in the world willing to pass down these qualities to future generations. Stay awesome, my dear! Screw the haters and punch the day in the face!!! ❤ Thank you for creating such an amazing community and for supporting and accepting all walks of life. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
@@JillianEve 😘😘😘 Thanks you, pretty lady. ❤️ Also! Once we find the culprit... We ride at dawn! 🏍️🏍️🏍️ -optimus prime voice- Motorcycle gang, rollout!! 😎🤘🔥🔥🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🐏 🐑 🐐 🦙 🦙 🌈🤣😂 "beam me up, Scotty!" "Avengers, assemble" "For the Alliance!!!!!!!!" "By Grabthar’s hammer, you shall be avenged!" "For the Rebellion!" "Allons-y!" "Roll for initiative!" "WEEEEE AREEEEE GROOOOOT"
I just started learning to draft patterns. Now I'm one project in and I'm sold for life! In my case I just wanted a cute little fantasy nonsense "corset"/"stays" type garment I could wear with my renaissance festival costume and I couldn't find one I liked that would fit me well (or wasn't way out of my budget). So I followed instructions to make a bodice block, made a toile (which needed shockingly few adjustments), then found a demo on how to draft a corset pattern from a bodice block and did a mockup out of thrifted bedsheets. I couldn't believe how perfectly it worked! I actually ended up tie-dyeing my mockup so now I have two fully finished little corset things now with their own themes. Not the most practical garment to start with of course, but now I feel like I could draft all sorts of woven tops with a little thought and planning.
The thing that has always appealed to me about your videos is that you have lovely kind eyes, a beautiful smile and a sweet personality to go with it. I have never met you, but I can tell you are an incredible human being. You are so brave to even have a UA-cam channel, and yet there you are sharing so much joy with all of us with things you do - you have inspired so many of us. PLEASE understand that when people make nasty comments, the problem is entirely theirs, not yours. You got this! (P.S. My daughter nearly died from anorexia because of body shaming. I am so very grateful she eventually recovered and is now a plus size vintage model and very proud of her curves.)
You had me rolling when you were talking about doing short cuts that are really not short cuts but extra work when you have to do it over😂your vest is beautiful. Stacy J has a wonderful tutorial for doing sway back alterations 😊
Love the vest, it's smart. My sister & I were researching tartan yesterday, we are trying to find our ancestors clan. I missed your videos & understand why you needed a break.
I would love a video of "yarn I span while I wasn't posting" to see what you were up to while not filming (if you were still spinning, am aware that my depression can make me not want to create anything when I'm low). Would love to see any summer spins!
You are supremely talented to make that lovely wool vest that fits you so very well without making mock-ups and to figure out the precise cutting to mirror and match the flawed patterns of the weave! I'm in awe ❤
All the love to you, I hope you can continue to heal! Wonderful project. Also I have a Kenmore that looks just like that!! It tends to skip stitches and snap thread (even though it's freshly serviced) but it's built like a TANK and can stitch through leather and six layers of denim without complaining.
It's true, what matters is that you are alive and well, and I for one hope that when you edit you can see that radiant smile for the beauty it is. Love the stripes and how you worked them in! I agree narrowing the shoulders might not be a bad idea, but the vest in general moves great, which is a feat. I hope you continue to feel better!
Dear Evie, it's so good to see you back again. I'm sorry you had such a difficult time because of someone's nastiness but please remember that for every rude nasty person there are many more of us out here who think you are amazing. Love the vest!
Dear Evie, you are amazing as you are. Please please please enjoy yourself. You are so creative and charming and amazing! I love watching your channel and hope for many more episodes.
I've always wanted to say this, but I did not want you to take it the wrong way. you remind me a lot of my mum. She was a very creative woman, who made her own clothes, was a fiber artist, a painter, a potter, and so many other things. This video reminded me a lot of some of the comments that my mum used to get from her peers in her softball team, after she'd managed to lose some weight and she was really proud of herself for that. I hope you never have to feel that hurt of someone being so nasty over something so difficult to manage even wtihout health issues. that vest looks amazing, and I love the buttons.
I'm remembering my first couple of vests while watching you and I gotta say - you getting both fronts the same length and the buttonholes and buttons all perfectly aligned - you get an award!!
Welcome back to posting, you are such a beautiful person inside and out. I am so glad that you are willing to teach what you learn and know about what you love to do. Unfortunately there are troll monkeys out there trying to project/spew their own self hatred onto others.
You have been missed, and I gotta say, you are one of the most beautiful people out there! I also struggle with my weight. I'm on several medications that cause weight gain, and I have spinal and knee injuries that prevent exercising, so any slips in what I eat causes my weight to skyrocket. I looked very underweight (I wasn't - I just looked it) before all that, so finding old clothes, such as my prom dress, is a big (hehe) reminder of everything I've managed to kick ass through since then. I'm sure you've managed to kick ass through way more than I have!
What a beautiful video - I loooved the pattern and everything up to the body dysmorphia bit...but then I'm just watching with tears rolling down my face. Self esteem kills my business for months at a time...same story - Rx drugs to keep me alive and one day I'm suddenly I'm back to sewing again!! At least we can Mrs McBeautiful. Thank-you so much for the inspiration. ❤❤❤
Thoughts: - The waistcoat is lovely! And i also love the gorgeous things you’ve done with your fabric, the way you took the unintentional and made it a design feature! Thank you also for sharing a little on the history of tweed - I’ve noticed in a couple of spots just how gorgeous your nail varnish is! Truly lovely-I wish I wasn’t so adept at chipping nail varnish myself 😅 - You’re so lovely, so warm and your videos are so welcoming. They remind me that the world is full of wonderful and kind people who just want the best for us all, and you deserve to get that back from us, your viewers and commenters. I’m glad you have a moderator now who can make sure that malicious actors can’t get to you. - Very happy to see you back again ❤
I understand about the body shaming that goes on in this country. I know in my head that it comes from a place of fear deep down, but that doesn't make it any easier to handle. I have lost over 100 pounds and have about 150 pounds yet to go. It is hard to find clothes that don't look like circus tents or are something that anyone would find cute or fashionable let alone good quality. Crafty folks like yourself are at an advantage. We can make our own clothes and you are right. Learning how to modify patterns is key to a good fit too. I applaud you for discussing this topic.
I am sorry that someone said such hurtful things to you. This is a beautiful vest and you are a beautiful person. Wearing something that fits you well is a huge confidence boost and is one of the main reasons I am learning to sew my own clothes.
The vest looks amazing, and the buttons are the perfect choice! I would love to find out the story behind the mistakes in the weaving that gave you such a unique and cool fabric to work with. I'll never understand the psychology of people who say cruel things to strangers on the internet; what problems in their life cause them to lash out at others in such an inappropriate way? Needless to say, you deserve no shame for anything -- not even those 1am sewing mistakes that you have to seam-rip out the next morning! (Let's be real, we've all been there.) Just keep being you; that's what we're all here for
I’m not a sewer or a weaver, but I love your channel for the calm, creative, nerdy vibes. I really enjoy your presentation style and the way you explain your creative process. I’m glad you’re back to making videos more often :)
First of all, I’m so happy to see you again. I loved watching your spinning episodes even though I know nothing about spinning. But, I didn’t know you sewed also. That tweed is absolutely beautiful. It reminds me of my mother who loved tweed. Your vest is stunning. I’m just amazed how you can make something so beautiful. I only sewed something one time and the first comment I got was, oh you made that. 😂. So, I’m sticking to knitting but will continue to watch you sew and spin. ❤
I love the vest! I might be inspired to start the one I made a mockup for a year ago and then chickened out before cutting out my beautiful wool fabric. I need to be brave .
That pattern matching is gorgeous!!! Sooo satisfying. As a J cup, I hear you on the “commercial clothes are not made for me” train. It does feel like being forgotten and left behind in the world. In sewing, I’m usually a size 4 in bottoms and 16-18 in the bust, it’s absolutely annoying. I don’t like have to master a whole second skill (the FBA) just to have clothes that fit. That custom sizing system looks so promising to me!! I’m so going to check it out.
I'm honestly *so glad* your doctor was more concerned with the actual problem with your health than with the number on the scale. So often, underlying health issues get blamed on weight and go completely undiagnosed, so I'm happy you have medical professionals actually doing their job ❤ I'm also thrilled you have a moderator to shield you from the f*ckery of trolls on the internet.
Glad you are back to making videos. I’m sorry someone was a real bad meanie. Great idea to have a moderator. I love your vest, especially the buttons! I loved the historical research you added. So fun to learn about textile history.
I will definitely get into drafting my own patterns in the future! Hope you never feel obligated to post, your videos are lovely but mental health is more important.
First time on your channel and I found it very interesting, honest and transparent. My first thought when I saw the video start was that you are a beautiful woman. I too have a weird body shape and have given up trying to so close for myself and I am now 67. It’s time for me to go back and try some stuff. Thank you so much for encouraging me.
Oh my. I love your content. I have your body type almost exactly, and honestly fear of hearing mean things has kept me from making videos myself. Thank YOU for being stronger than I've been yet.
If you do start a channel let me know! I made a Discord for fiber arts content creators. To join you just have to have 3 published videos. I love to support our UA-cam creator community! 💜
beautiful! :) I really like what you've made and all of the historical details :) Maybe a toile in a cheaper fabric would have been good to try adjust to make it exactly how you want it, but it looks great as is! I'd love to see you make yourself a block pattern to base other self-drafted patterns from and see how the fits compare to the Lutterloh system in terms of fit :) xxx
My sugestion to reduce the puckering in the back you could add two double ended darts centerd at your wast. One to the left of centre and one the same distance to the right of centre. 0:06 The dart would be at its widest at your wast tapering to a point going up and also going down. If you have someone that could help you put the vest on inside out and they can pin the darts in place for you. Alternatively pin some darts in place and try it on, make adjustments and try it again till you get it comfy.
Maybe you could wear some stealthy Star Wars jewelry when you wear the vest (or find/make a pin or brooche that you wear on it) that lets other fans know you know (you know? 😂). Some time ago I saw a video by another UA-camr who talked about the toxic combo of appearance-related comments and staring at yourself while editing videos, but I can’t remember who it was. I’m glad you are in a better place now and that you felt able to say something about it. Hopefully hearing creators talk about this issue will encourage people to be more careful with their comments (not the trolls-they don’t care, but well-meaning people who don’t realize the cumulative effect those types of comments can have on people who spend hundreds of hours staring at their own image as a part of their job).
So sorry you've been getting mean comments about your body, it blows my mind that people think things like that and then go ahead and comment it on a video. I love watching your videos to see you so joyful doing crafts, it really inspires me and it makes me so happy to see you working on a project that makes you happy and helps you to heal :) I hope you're doing ok and dong what you need to look after your mental health x
I love your personality and your enthusiasm for fibers. You have helped me discover that I find fibers fascinating, too. I can only imagine how difficult the comment section can be. It sounds like you've taken intentional steps to manage the negative aspects of being a UA-camr.
You come across as such a lovely, kind lady. Do NOT take any notice of these awful trolls, they would not have the spine to say it to your face! You are an inspiration. Keep being you! LOVE your show! Xx
As a chronically ill and disabled person, you owe us no explanation! Please don't feel pressured to say more than you're comfortable with😊 Great video and lovely to see you as always❤❤
Evie, it's so good to have you back! I've missed your videos and all the interesting history of your content. The vest is beautiful, you're beautiful. A pox on those people who try to pull you down to their level. Keep up the great work. You are loved by many.
I always find your videos so relaxing. I watch them to fall asleep. Id love to see more of these, explaining the fabrics and tailoring for our own body shape. 🤍🤍
Your vest is so well done! And it looks very well on you! And that system of creating your own pattern is amazing. Reminds me of the idea of IK (Interactive Knitting) which seems to mean that we take our own measurements and create a garment based on that. Unfortunately, the only book I've found on how to do that, is written in a way that is hard to follow. I know there are classes but I need a book! Anyway, I also loved your side track into the history of tweed. Update: you triggered me to go looking online and a found a couple of out of print books at a used book seller and I've ordered them. I'm hoping that they will be what I'm looking for.
As someone who is autistic, and doesn’t see physical attractiveness… Personality, temperament, and morals are far more important. You are getting mental and medical assistance; you are creative and engaging; you have a nice warm vest that fits and is comfortable . The opinions of shallow jinglenobs who only care about body shape and appearance need mean nothing to you.
What a triumph! Loved this episode. your after midnight sewing spree was a riot. I have been there too! Except the seam ripper got away from me and there wen’t my project. Anyhoo. love the history of Scottish tweed, as I’m heading there in two weeks! AND the PLY magazine with your article just arrived. I can’t wait to get into it.
Hello Evie, Thankyou for sharing your vest with us . I always learn so much from you. I appreciate you, and even though We don't know each other; I would love to be a friend of yours. (I live Australia... I am a re enactor..... Viking lady is me!) It is always a pleasure when I watch along with you. We are ladies of the fibre arts! Just know that you are loved. xx
Lovely lady. I’m so sorry that this happened to you. You don’t deserve this kind of crap … none of us do. I remember hearing what people’s opinions of my body were and it would absolutely destroy me. Finally, now that I’m old and grey, I really couldn’t care less what they say. Just remember, you are strong and brave and beautiful.
Happy to hear you are taking care of you, on the up n up, and feeling better. That vest came out very very nicely on you! 🥰 I'm going to have to check that method out because I'm ALWAYS drafting out premade patterns to get them to fit; same as you.
A few Christmases ago, I made a 1830s inspired get-up for a Dickens Festival, and put dragon buttons on the bodice. Because.. DRAGONS. As for the dysmorphia: I have spent my whole life hating my body, but it recently got me safely out of a house fire. So I've been trying to be kinder to it. It's a journey, but this body is the reason I can still take this journey. I'm so glad you took the medications that saved your life, because the world would be a little dimmer without you in it. ❤
You are lovely and amazing as you are. That person probably wouldn’t be able to handle walking the path you have. Hugs! I’m certain my mom has that same machine and taught me how to sew on it. The vest is lovely and the buttons are the best touch!
That vest is gorgeous and fits you beautifully! And I love the idea of covert nerdery. And I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Carry on with that work -- you are so worth it! ❤
I loved seeing you draft that pattern. I learned a bit of that long ago in college. That vest is fantastic and fits you perfectly. I agree that the shoulders could come in a bit, but no matter. I love the shoulder darts and now you matched the different tweed patterns. Great job! Good to see you again.
Wow! That is horrible! I am,so glad you are in a better place now. Your video is very timely. I have been feeling nostalgic for my 1980’s tapestry vests; such gorgeous fabric. I’m a plus petite, and it is hard to get clothing that fits. You inspired me! 😊
I'm so mad at that person for whatever they said to make you feel that way. Your videos always make me happy to watch. Your enthusiasm for your craft is infectious and I love the little history lessons that go along with all the new shiny tools and projects. Being differently proportioned than patterns like is something I am hugely familiar with and I haaaaaate it it's a very frustrating time. But watching creators with different shapes say to hell with that and doing the thing anyway has given me the confidence to figure it out and actually cut into that gorgeous fabric I was saving for that 'perfect' pattern that doesn't actually exist. I thank all of you for this! You keep doing your thing and finding your joy in your creations. I will keep watching and enjoying your excitement because it lifts me up and I'm sure it does others too

@@TruFlyFoxsometimes I think people forget that there’s a person inside the body they’re commenting on.
Did you use the regular or xl/xxl version? Didn't see anything on their website about when to choose which
@@werethenowgeneration probably. The internet gives you space and anonymity. 😢😢
I'm sorry people feel so comfortable commenting on your (or anyone's) appearance. It literally has nothing to do with your content. That being said, struggling with body dismorphia is extremely relatable.
It’s like people pride themselves on rude. SMH!
Agreed!
People feel free to just be their worst selves on the internet. The anonymity makes them forget they are talking about real people and they would never get away with this type of behavior out in the real world.

hello fellow endo-foolery-friend!
1) Stealth nerd: I feel seen.
2) The vest turned out beautifully!
3) Loving the apron (is there a pattern?)
4: Best labels on stitch rippers EVER
The labels remind me of the series of pictures of tools to use on a stubborn bolt. Various sized wrenches start out as please, pretty please, I wasn’t asking, etc. Until the tool is a welding torch labeled “It can’t be tight if it’s a liquid!”
100% agreed on all of these, including the apron pattern!
These comments always say more about the person making them rather than who they're aimed at. I really appreciate your honesty and vulnerability.
Ha, love your humour! And love the vest. May you revel in the joy of being alive to wear it every time you put it on!
"i did _____ because.... i like it" is the perfect reason to do things.
Totally agree!
Oh Evie sweetheart…
My heart breaks for you.

I've been dealing with an undiagnosed ED for 20+ years and have steadily gained weight over the time (body goes into starvation mode and hangs on to food more and more tightly, basically.) All that to say, i see you, I'm proud of you, keep taking good care of you❤
I’m an RN and there is no reason to be concerned about what others think. You look wonderful!
Your “reenactment” was probably so familiar to stitchers who’ve attempted anything after 11pm 😂 You had me cackling! I love the vest and extra love the buttons.

I’m so glad you got a moderator! The trolls are relentless. I’m happy you’re back. I admire you so much. Just know there are far more of us out here who see and recognize the beauty in the whole person that you are. ❤
White shirts have the power of the death star tractor beam to pull stains to it in the blink of an eye!!! lol the struggle is real with that one.
Anyone who actually follows along with your videos knows what an awesome human you are. so, HUG!
I am so excited that you are back and in a better place. You have been missed. Big hug!
You are beautiful and amazingly competent! You are my fiber hero!!! Thank you for your wonderful teaching videos.❤
I love you Evie! You look amazing. I’m so proud of you and all your achievements. ❤
You don’t owe us anything!! I have loved and learned so much form you. Thank you for putting yourself and talents out to the world for us all to enjoy
I am a larger guy, I've never been "small", I'm just big.. all around. Stocky, tall, wide, whatever. I tell people I came out of the womb at 220lb and just kept growing 😂
I have recently started on Wegovy for weight loss, and it has helped.
Never let someone alter your feelings of yourself.
Thank you for creating such an amazing community and for supporting and accepting all walks of life. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
You shine bright, fiber friend! Thank you for your encouraging words and for sharing your story. 😊💖

The algorithm finally algorithm'd and recommended you to me, huzzah. Exactly what i love to watch, subbed
The Closet Historian gives me hope that I can learn pattern drafting. Your story leads me to believe you will like her content.
Stacy J has a wonderful tutorial for doing sway back alterations 😊
that vest is GORGEOUS!!!! the dark lipstick really adds a fun touch of fall, too. wonderful job as always!
Love your vest in the uk, we call it a waistcoat. I do love it it's gorgeous and looks good on you, evie. Lots of love and big hugs xx
You're awesome! I missed you amd I'm glad you're back!
All the love to you, I hope you can continue to heal! Wonderful project. Also I have a Kenmore that looks just like that!! It tends to skip stitches and snap thread (even though it's freshly serviced) but it's built like a TANK and can stitch through leather and six layers of denim without complaining.
So glad to see you back on here. love your vest too by the way, it looks amazing ❤
How courageous you are. I can only imagine how challenging that was. Kudos to you for getting back out there. You did a fantastic job on the vest!
I adore you and your amazing videos with expertise on all things fiber!!!
Thoughts:
- The waistcoat is lovely! And i also love the gorgeous things you’ve done with your fabric, the way you took the unintentional and made it a design feature! Thank you also for sharing a little on the history of tweed
- I’ve noticed in a couple of spots just how gorgeous your nail varnish is! Truly lovely-I wish I wasn’t so adept at chipping nail varnish myself 😅
- You’re so lovely, so warm and your videos are so welcoming. They remind me that the world is full of wonderful and kind people who just want the best for us all, and you deserve to get that back from us, your viewers and commenters. I’m glad you have a moderator now who can make sure that malicious actors can’t get to you.
- Very happy to see you back again ❤
the 1am corner cutting sewing is very relatable xD
Thanks for sharing. Love the vest! So brave. Not sure I could do it.
Welcome back! Lovely work.
I'm honestly *so glad* your doctor was more concerned with the actual problem with your health than with the number on the scale. So often, underlying health issues get blamed on weight and go completely undiagnosed, so I'm happy you have medical professionals actually doing their job ❤
I'm also thrilled you have a moderator to shield you from the f*ckery of trolls on the internet.
Glad you are back to making videos. I’m sorry someone was a real bad meanie. Great idea to have a moderator. I love your vest, especially the buttons! I loved the historical research you added. So fun to learn about textile history.
I will definitely get into drafting my own patterns in the future! Hope you never feel obligated to post, your videos are lovely but mental health is more important.
i think the vest looks great!
I'm so sorry that person hurt you with their words so much. You're a beautiful person with a beautiful heart in a beautiful tweed vest!
The Star wars button were PERFECT!!! Brilliant!
THE STEALTH REFERENCE IS SO COOL! I love designs with subtle nods and references! Love it, love it, love it!

13:42 I was half expecting you to throw the iron over your shoulder too 🤦♀
Happy to hear you are taking care of you, on the up n up, and feeling better. That vest came out very very nicely on you! 🥰 I'm going to have to check that method out because I'm ALWAYS drafting out premade patterns to get them to fit; same as you.
i learned the hard way many times late night sewing is a baaad thing. I LOVE THE VEST!!!
People have no right to make comments about you and your life. You do the videos to provide information and entertainment. Rock the houndstooth
This was a very interesting video. I like the information about tweets. Your vest looks great!
Tweed.
Oh Jullian, you are beautiful inside and out! Thank you so much for another great video and sharing your journey. ❤️
I missed you, fibre friend!
And I so heartily agree with your doctor, your health is more important than numbers on a scale! ❤
My heart goes out to you and I admire how you took time off and put a moderater in place. I adore your wool vest and now I need a one too!
Wow the lutterloh system is super interesting. I’m so sorry people were so cruel to you!!! You’re beautiful and so talented.
You are lovely and amazing as you are. That person probably wouldn’t be able to handle walking the path you have. Hugs!
I’m certain my mom has that same machine and taught me how to sew on it. The vest is lovely and the buttons are the best touch!
That vest is lovely! And the happiness in your face in the reveal? Love that. You're super cute!
