I was with two different women like this and a couple of friends. I’ll never put myself through that again. Call it mental illness on their part, but life is too short to be someone’s emotional sponge. They’ll fry your nervous system and quite possibly give you cancer. Go kick rocks and get well.

His story about his girlfriends psychotic break it reminds me of someone I know that would make up the craziest story’s that were not true just to cause problems. It’s really hard to wrap your head around that.
Ugh, I went through what DVK went through and it was a nightmare. She had me questioning my sanity.

Went through a very similar experience with a woman I was dating recently....just absolutely blindsided one night after work....there was no good explanation as to why she flipped 180 & there was no reasoning with her.... .It had to end right then & there.....good woman, but mental health issues beyond my capabilities. Just remember thinking/saying to myself repeatedly, what is going on? Is this real? It was a wild experience.

This is so interesting and disturbing at the same time to me. You never know what is going on in the mind of the one you love. It's strange how two people can see one situation from a widely different point of view and live in a completely different reality. Can we really know someone? And to what extent? There is a fine line between compassion you have for the person and your own boundaries sometimes. It's amazing how you created such a place where these things can be talked about with love and humor at the same time. Man, I love this podcast! ❤
