- Daenerys has been my favourite character since Season 1.
No other could have portrayed her the way Emilia did.
I worked very long and hard on this video. Its 10 minutes because I felt like everything she went thought contributed to her journey and her ending.
I wasnt happy with it how they ended her. Mainly because if they wanted to go down this road they should have taken more time.
Second, we never saw her harm innocent people. Thats just not who she is. She's cruel, and passionate. And she acts out of anger. The blood of the dragon. But she never killed without reasoning. She's not her father. And I cant believe they tried to portray her this was. Thank go Emilia played her so heartbreakingly beautiful.
Its because of this I will always stand by Daenerys. And what a powerful characters she was.
I guess I just wanted to say: Thank you Emilia Clarke.
Ps: I do believe Drogon flew her to Valyria rescurrect her.

me too. I'm still angry about her death. Jon should have married her and they ruled together. He would have been able to temper her anger and make her happy with children. Why would he listen to Tyrion, a Lannister? Tyrion would always be a Lannister, see how he is always running to his sister, Cersei, begging for forgiveness. Drogon should have burnt him once he had thrown away the Hand pin, as he was clearly a traitor. Jpn was portrayed as a simpleton and weak man. Even his brother Robb, had more guts that he did. I'm so angry!!

Because those people saw it as going against her established character. I'm fine with her ending, but to others it butchered her. A character about never killing the innocent and suddenly she's slaughtering every civilian and saw it as freeing in her speech

The reason for that, and correct me if I'm wrong, is because the city surrendered. In nobody else's case did their opponent surrender. So their case was war, and in Daenerys' it was purely out of a thirst for blood.

Bran is the only one who could see the future, he altered it by turning Jon against Daenerys. He was happy to be king of it all if Kings Landing burned. He was not the king we chose ❤️
Bran just sat in his chair dreaming. Remember that girl and her brother that died for him? He didn't care that her brother had sacrificed his life for him and she was disgusted and left. He didn't even thank her for all she had done to bring him back to his family. Disgusting!
Apparently Tyrion thought Bran would make a good ruler because he can learn from all the Kings of the last to learn from their mistakes, the only one I can see him actually learning from is Little Finger and who the hell would have wanted another Little Finger. One who is going to live for a thousand years, can watch everyone's most intimate moments and change the future to one of his choosing. Let's not forget the first Three Eyed Raven was the one who told the Mad King to burn them with fire. Bran isn't even Bran anymore and we know as much about the Three Eyed Raven as we do about the Night King...
Dany turned Jon against her not Bran. She was always fated to be Queen of the ashes

HOWEVER!!! George as an unknown amount of books coming out still. He’s not restricted to one season to drive Dany mad. He can build it up to that in his books.

@hemant dabas - I like it! Headcannons make for great stories! The World of Ice and Fire is ours now, we can do and think and believe what we want and even write it down or tell the stories. In this case, Bran/3eyedRaven, brings on another Long Night for all of Westeros, but we stay in the East and watch over Dany's legacy (or watch Drogon bring her back reborn, from Valyria, to free the slaves of Volantis). Yara Greyjoy, Oberyn Martell's 5th daughter and some Dornish houses, those from the Reach who remained loyal to Olenna Tyrell, will be welcome when they flee the Others, there're endless stories/seasons based on your headcannon
Hated what the writers did to her in the last 2 episodes. She deserved better & your video shows exactly why so many people love her. We stand by Daenerys. How could we not???? Amazing video about her journey. ❤️ It’s breathtaking. Great job!

@Abbe Satty - but it's more interesting to see what could/can be done, throwing ideas around, finding threads for spin-offs, new stories and such.Besides, even people who don't look for stories need to vent and grieve. It cleans the soul and it's healthier using a fictious character for it. Besides, you have a group who shares your feelings. Academia even has a term for it, "Soul Hygiene".

But we should respect the liberty of creative decisions the writers take on how the story unfolds.

I'm old and still have never seen anything comparable when it comes to emotional bonding and energy-investing. Even if Twin Peaks had internet support in it's time, the reaction wouldn't have been this massive. Then there's the incredible amount of money made by the "creative directors". All this leads me to think in this case, people have a right to demand respectable and creative decisions. To call the crap they fed us creative would be a liberty, indeed. I've only just realized how deeply involved young people were/are, 9 years, they grew up with a phenomenon that's extremely rare in this time that needs something new every 3 days..they deserved a dramaturgically sound final season. If they didn't have time to develope Daenerys' descent, they should have let her just turn away and fly whereever - would also have been the better economical decision. Anyway, since Dany is hated now, I can dye my hair silver ggg

You literally followed Hitler!" But she wasn't Hitler, it's bs, at most she was a kind of benevolent Genghis Khan not taking on innocents that wasn't acting like this for all but two episodes. It's the most cynical thing I have ever encountered in fiction. They have the right to say "fuck you" to all of this and keep their queen loved in their minds.

If you put up a character you know that is main character and identification figure for many and you want this kind of turn, you will have to lead people into this believably. If you just mess up a character by little foreshadowing hints that never foreshadow a completely character-destroying behaviour like this, you are just betraying your audience and playing with their emotions and relationships in a cynical way. This idea was meant to completely cut off the involvement you built up for all the years abruptly, leaving no chance to closure. Just take out the kids and deliberate targeting of innocents, that is illogical anyway in the story, and people would buy this and go along with a Mad Queen arc, it just wouldn't destroy their relationship to the character as intended. Yeah, you can't do this to your audience, and they have a right to not buy this and stay to the character that was told for so many years. They still also have a right to judge that character differently, just from a philosophical pov. Are your last deeds everything that can be told about you and should influence the final judgement about you? You can have different opinions about this. Nobody has to follow Martin or the showrunners in that regard, that you can just nail down a personality to its worst moment in a "gotcha" style way, that's not a very humanist message from the start. This is something you don't even consider in that nasty little starting comment of yours, so don't blame me for getting tough on you.

Well in my mind she ended up sitting on the throne with all her dragons above her...the ending she got was the most disrespectful thing i've ever seen, same as her dragon death scenes.
see this is exactly the problem everyone had with the shit whole of a final season, you can't spend 10 years building such an iconic character, putting her on the highest pedestal you've got, who you used as the trade mark of the show and they completely destroy her in two episodes and expect people to just run with it.
this was beautiful and made me realize the incredible potential lost.
She was brave, compasionate and ruthless with her ENEMIES. She will always be my favourite!!

I love how they said “it’s going to be a bittersweet ending”. There is no bittersweet to it, it’s a happy ending for everyone but the best character the show had.

Well, that was the whole point of her character arc, albeit very rushed at the end. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
My tears flow 12 months later because they forgot that Daenerys had a gentle heart. Tyrion, Arya and Jon all betrayed her. Including Dumb and Dumber, chained her 2 dragons because of the death of 1 girl.
When I think about her telling Sansa that it wasn’t her fight, but she joined them putting her quest on hold because she loved and trusted Jon makes me cringe now. She loved and trusted him and he killed her😔
She shouldn't have helped them and focused on her own quest... then maybe she would still be alive with all her dragons😭😭

Yes, that's true, but letting her die like a child-murdering peace of shit that never had anything true or worthwile about her like they did isn't appropriate for a great grey character with great qualities and great flaws either, isn't it? Without her, the whole world would be undead, and despite all the problems and violence of her short Essos reign she actually DID bring countles of slaves freedom they still enjoy, so making her seem to be Hitler in the end without going to any of the countless possibilities of making her turn to madness at least clearly TRAGIC was just a dumb cynical dick move that ignored about all of the rest of the story and the character.

An amazing video. Great job! Besides that it delivers the genuine story, it also show the absolute absurd of the season 8 writing. Spectacular end is not justified by weak and, above all, wrong conclusion of the story.

the more I watch this the more it hurts to realize how unfair everyone was with her. She sacrificed her army and her friends to save Winterfell in the end Jon kills her and the Starks hate her even before she burned Kingslanding. Daenerys deserved a better ending. I would have accepted her dying from childbirth or by fighting in Winterfell. She will always be THE QUEEN, rightful.

Were did all this love and kindness go ,the moment she had everything love power ,throne she losses who she truly is ...why? Why would it be necessary for her story to end like this..? I don't know...she was more then an evil mad tyrant ,she was powerful woman that triumphed over every bad thing she was faced with just like love of her life jon snow their path was so hard and painful ...and it ended with her dead body in the claws of drogon...in her child arms going east...and jon with his ghoust going north..the more time passes and fully knowing this is just fiction and one of the biggest apeals of game of thrones was the fact it was so real characters plots betwen them their pain their laugh their hurt ...it all felt so real which goes to the amazing writers and amazing performances by actors ...emilia clark performance is perfection so much emotion she was Daenerys it was a beautiful thing watching her play this part for the last ten years ...i bend my knee for no man...but i would bend my knee to her performance ..it was pure joy and beauty watching her all these years

I have always believed in her and when she died my heart stopped it was such a bad ending for her but it showed how her wish happened. She didn't sit on the irone thrown but the wheel was broken. She is my khaleesi. (This is the first edit that made me cry, in a good way)
