WHAT WHEN AND HOOWWWWWWWWW!!!!OMG GAME CHANGER. Thank you for this upload. My client wanted to be able to edit text but doesn't know photoshop so I was trying to figure out the easiest way to break down these layers AND THEN GOD SENDS AN ANGEL!! Thank you friend!!!!
I think if you were to update this video and let people know what file size is allowed and also let them know for it to work for a font file that they have to already have the font installed on your computer for this to work especially for Text Effects otherwise it either wont upload or it will upload but with layer issues. Great video otherwise.
Hey I had the same issue as I was tyring to drag the file out of a zip file and it said it wasnt compatible with canva. I copied and pasted the file as its self on my downloads then dragged it from there onto canva, and it worked fine. Also make sure that you file is a PDS file.
It's good news, although I'd say Canva is still in its infancy when it comes to importing PSD files to it. At this time (Aug 2024) , I'll give it a 6 or 7 score to Canva for the effort.
Thank you for sharing. I couldn’t successfully edit mine. I did download the psd file from a website, tapped on the zip file and it separated into 7 photos. Uploaded these photos to Canva but they weren’t editable. Please, is there any advice on how to go about that? Thanks.
Sometimes it's editable and sometimes it isn't. It's weird. You can use Illustrator files as well. Let me try this a few times on my end to see if I get the same issue you're having.
As far as the photos, the only thing I could do was crop, remove the background and add effects and strokes. But as far as editing the actual photos in other ways, I couldn't. But the text that transferred over was editable.
Thanks for this video friend! I have a question... at this moment: 2:50 what kind of layer was this gray shape in photoshop? I have always wanted to make custom placeholders in Canva, currently there is a tool for this but it is somewhat limited, however, this way I could create them in Photoshop so that my clients can use them in Canva... I find it super interesting. Again, thank you very much. Greetings 🇸🇻
Good question and thank you. Let me find this actual template and I'll let you know. Whenever I find it, I can also send it to you if you think it will be helpful. If so, just tell me here: airtable.com/appcpNyCTw82kX9uL/shrW36ekHpgErVKvB
@@metricsmule AI Files not compatiable with CANVA, Here is the right way, go to photopiea and export the PSD to PDF then it will work with canva with all elements! I am waiting for that video!
See what happens if you try it with a different file that's not so big. Sometimes Canva has a hard time with very large files. You can also try doing the same thing with an Illustrator file (.ai or .eps)
🤯 I've been using both for years!!! Had no idea they finally allowed this .....MIND BLOWN...thank you so much for this video
Thanks, you're welcome!

Thank you very much! Glad it was able to help. You can also use Illustrator files as well the same exact way.
@metricsmule Thanks for simplifying this topic. It's very helpful.
You're very welcome!
Thank you so much! 95% of the file transferred. The rest was easy to fix. Thank you!!!!
Perfect! Glad it worked out.
This is great! I have been spending so much time using photoshop and prepping it to export as a pdf.... what a game changer
Glad it was helpful! You can use it with Illustrator files too.

I am trying to figure how to edit the text in a layered PSD file like this in Canva.
Doesn't work, just get an error and says not compatible file....etc...

Thanks! 🙂
Unfortunately, the designs that we upload to Canva (psd) it not adding all the elements and it's so bad
I can see that. It's honestly hit or miss sometimes. Have you tried Illustrator files yet?

@@MuhamadDXB this deosn't work either?
What is the psd file size limit for it to be editable in canva?
Doesn't work
what if file is over 300mb. Thats the problem I'm having. The psd files are large
Good point. I've been having to compress mine recently. Have you tried Illustrator files yet? Sometimes those work better for me.
It can be edited but fonts on psd file came out different when you upload on Canva, any suggestion for it ?
Does it happen all the time with fonts or just sometimes? Because there are fonts that Adobe products will have but other apps will not have.
@@metricsmule yes that was the reason. It was a font that wasn’t available on Canva caused the issue.
What if all the layers are hidden in the PSD file?
Sometimes I'll have better luck using Illustrator files too.
Can I do this on my smartphone???
Great question, I need to try that myself.
doesnt work... how can i editable psd to canva?

Does not work at all
Sometimes it doesn’t work for me if the file is too big.
Doesn't work 😭
Try using a smaller file.
I get an error
Maybe your file is too large?? Sometimes that will happen.
doesn't work.FAKE
It works, I use it often for flyers. Unfortunately if the file size is too big it won't work and it does need some fine tuning.
2 min of blablabla ?
that is too much blablabla to start
🙂👍
