I bought mx 15 irons new in 2002. I gave up golf for maybe 10 years but im back playing again with those irons. I wouldnt swap them for the world. The lower irons 3 and 4 are great in particular for me.
When I think of Mizuno, forged clubs are all that come to mind. Great forged irons to this day Mizuno stuck to the forged irons back when cast irons were all the rage, and nowdays forged is Everywhere. Who would have thought in 2002 Callaway would be making forged blades? Or Ping even more so. But a game improvement steel Mizuno, its like a step down or something.
Favorite looking clubs from back then or a few years later ,, the original Nike pro combo irons which grew on me over a little time, 2005 Taylormade rac tp forged, forged Macgregor v foil blades, that I can remember anyways.
Another great review of an golf item from long ago. Enjoy thoroughness, analogies, jokes/comments (gart!)
Thanks for sharing! Got these a few years ago as my first set, not looking to change anytime soon and it was fun to learn more about them. Had no idea they were that old for one! Shot 84 twice this week, hope to break 80 with them soon.
The MX line had some really enjoyable clubs with that mizuno feel. I personally liked the MX-23, MX-300, and MX-200. They were progressive as well. Larger with a cavity in the longer irons and smaller with a MC profile in the shorter irons.
Just bought the mx19s as a fairly new golfer. Trusting all the incredible reviews they’ve got as they’re 2007
I bought a used set of the MX-23 when I came back to golf after a long break and they were great. Similar to the MX-15 but not quite so chunky and I'm sure they were forged stainless too.
I got my handicap down with them and rewarded myself with a new set of JPX-825 Pro, my game went downhill big time! But in a way that was a good thing as it could have influenced my move to classic clubs.
Thanks for the video. I’ve just bought a set of these as my first golf clubs 🙂 a complete amateur so looking forward to having a go
TGIF!!! I have the Mizuno T Zoid Pro's and I do not remember these. Cool
I still play these! I’ve tried newer clubs recently and don’t like them as much.
I am VERY highly considering a set of the MX23 irons right now!
Rushing off to the gart path to try them now.
played the Mixuno MX-20 in S flex for many years. Love/hate relationship at times. They we good irons overall. The pitching wedge was great. As a fool, I sold them. The guy who bought couldn't hit them, I heard. Not a hackers club in S or X flexes.
Is there an updated book? Iron finder recently closed up shop and that was my go to for clubs.
First timer. Nice video. How about best irons of the 2000's?
Oh wow you are here in Rochester. We HAVE to collab. I work for u of r!
You just convinced me not to go get new irons and keep my MX-15's.
I support that decision
2002 is vintage? Guess that's in the eye of the beholder 🙂
This iron looks as if Mizuno was determined to make an ugly golf club but still couldn't accomplish it.
For some reason, I just don’t like that cavity on clubs like this. It just doesn’t look right.
