Hey, Bricksie! I'm a professional videographer (commercial and weddings), and I wanted to give you some advice when it came to upgrading your setup. 4K is really not that important. The difference between 1080p and 4k is so miniscule that most people can't tell the difference, and most people watch videos on their phone at 720p. Don't get caught up feeling like 4K will greatly imporve your videos. If anything, the file sizes will be so much larger and more computer intensive that it will slow you and your output down. For example, it might not be Adobe Elements that can't render 4k footage, it's more likely your computer can't. Focus on a setup that allows you to make content as easily as possible. However, if you do want to upgrade, I STRONGLY reccomend a mirrorless camera over another camcorder. I started with an Ax-53 in high school, and just switching to a $400 camera (the panasonic G7 with the included kit lens) made a HUGE difference in the quality of the videos. The sensor size is what makes your footage look good, and the sensor on even the worst camera is leagues better than a Sony camcorder. Do what makes you happy, and don't let slightly better quality stop you from making better content. I love the channel! If you would like any advice, I would be more than happy to talk over some camera/tech stuff! It's a big hobby.
I agree wise words. Most people don’t even have a devices that plays 4k let alone even know to turn it on on the settings so upgrading to a mirror less camera would be the way to go ❤
Exactly. People that want 4k only think it's better because it's a bigger number, but you're hardly going to see a difference unless you're really close to a big screen. Just make sure your image is sharp and well lit (which the lego room is) and it will look just fine on a 4k TV. I have DVDs (480p) that look better on my 4k tv than some remastered blurays of old movies, simply because the image of the dvd is sharp and the compression is clean. Shooting in 4k will give you better colour depth and let's you 'punch in' more easily on your footage, but that's not really an issue when you film in a well lit room where you have all the time to set up. If you get a mirrorless camera (like Chris suggested) you can eventually invest in good/different lenses (like for lego it might be fun to get a macro lens). Though to be honest your video look fine as is. Just as a comparison; Star Wars episode 2 and 3 were shot in 1080p and nobody complained there (and that was projected in the cinema).
Bricksie,I’m a professional Striper, aka. Someone who paints roads/parking lots. For the entrance to the Zoo you should have a curved white line connecting a bike lane from the Zoo the the bike lane of the road that runs in front of the zoo. Also you could add a cross walk in front for entrance to allow pedestrians across the zoo entrance if they are simply passing by, drop off traffic will have to yield to the crosswalk traffic.
I'm loving all your updates to the zoo. I was thinking about having a wild and open area on my city, but after seeing your zoo, now I'm still making my mind. About having a parking space, have you thought about having a "fake entrance" to an underground parking lot? It'll use fewer spaces, but will give the illusion that many visitors on cars can visit at once.
The video quality is great who is trying to see Lego bricks in 4K, the only thing that is missing a covered bus stop waiting area. The top of the aquarium could be a cafe seating and view position with telescopes for children. Also a few white lights in the glass tunnels, can really make the individual exhibits come alive.
Turned out great! I like the idea that your standing hole is the parking lot. Maybe make and "entrance" to it on the left (so if you're staring at the zoon entrance, the parking lot is from the road on the left). Anyway, going great!
I love how you went for a more simple route to improve the zoo entrance. You didn't go to crazy on the tiles, the plants or any decorations and it still looks really good. Because sometimes simple is better. And I haven't noticed any bad video quality in my experience, sometimes it gets grainy or out of focus. Nothing major. But I think when it gets grainy it's due to my wifi network.
For the Aviary entrance that is close to the building with limited space, maybe just make a vestibule that has a turn, so when the visitors walk through the outer door, they take a right turn and enter the door that you have there currently. Just an idea! Love the zoo so far :)
Gor the back of the skywalk in the zoo you could instead of a second ramp, put another path that goes to the back wall and finishes off the enclosure for the monkeys, or whatever goes in there. Then put the entrance between that and the stair ramp.
For the Zoo parking, you should just put a sign that says "Zoo Parking This Way" pointing to the tunnel entrance in the raised platform. Then you could also have a side build of a visitor transport bus bringing people from the parking to the zoo.
as someone in the film industry both production and post production...if you are going the 4k route plan for massive storage backups like 20-40 TB and possibly a closet server for your video storage. Also make sure to render 4k videos in H.265. Also I highly highly recommend you go with DAVINCI RESOLVE 17 (Do not go with 18, trust me 17 is the best). It's a great free to use software and it handles 4k footage really well and the production company I work for uses it for professional movie editing to easy quick advertisement editing. It handles everything and the learning curve is not bad. Easy to use for beginners but also has an expert/professional level to it. Let me know if you have questions man. Cheers
For the zoo, maybe have the big cave entrance in the front and have one set of curved steps behind it leading up to the top viewing area? The zoo is super cool
Love the channel. Been following it for some time now. I’ve been working in film and TV for over 25 years and I have no problem with the quality of your videos. I would throw out there that you consider DaVinci Resolve over Adobe Premiere (I’ve used both for many years) as an option as it’s a one off purchase and no annual subscription. However if you stick to HD 1080P then the free version will do all you need. One thing I’d love to see is a Lego Street View of your city. It’d be great to see it from the perspective of a mini-figure. 👍😁 Maybe Mount a camera to a train as it cruises through the city. Keep up the good work! 🤘😁
Looking good. How about some large advertising boards up on the zoo walls? You could also add some billboards and gantry type signage across some of the city roads..
Looks super good!! One thing you could do to solve the, “parking” issue is add bus stops. You don’t need parking if the bus takes you to every location
Hi be honest i do not like the entrance-street combination. I would prefer to use the MILS plate and make more room in Front of the entrance and keep the street more away. And create a yellow Marked Short Time parking lane. Keep up the Great work
Omg who is complaining… can’t please everyone. Grateful for all the time you take to bring us entertainment. Not too worried about the animals getting out and terrorising the city lol . Keep calm and carry on . Thankyou. Love from Australia
Love it so far! Although i think of the four new bushes out front, the front most ones on each side (closest to the bench) should be single stacked instead of double to add more layers of depth :)
First of all I would like to say I think the footage is fine and also I think in the glass viewing area there should be some supports because I don't think glass can hold all that weight
Your quality is fine, but I’d suggest Final Cut Pro X. Also Canon cameras have very rich warm colors and would do better with filming Lego. Sony is good too but they tend to give off a cooler color emphasizing the blue and reds more.
Yeah video quality is fantastic. Always has been as far as I remember. I heard you babies in the background the other night and I thought it was my cats for a minute haha but I don’t mind the twins.
make the mountain entrance under the ninjago a make-beleve parking with a parking booth upfront and a red and white beam for open and closing,.,a sighn over it zoopark ? maby a bit deeper the first corner ?? dont know if that can be done with the train
2nd the note about no need for 4K, the view doesnt significantly improve. You quality is better than most on YT. Upgrade for yourself, but dont worry about us. Plus likely if someone complains, ask them to check their playback is on 720 or 1080. Keep up the great work.
Listen. There is nothing wrong with you video quality! We are many who DON`T have an 4K screen, and it is not even necessary with that resolution. People have eyes and can see fine in HD and it´s SO fine with the current quality! So you don´t have to change it just because some crazy people can´t get enough in HD!
You can make the illusion that the parking lot is in the standing hole by having an intersection that leads to the standing hole, with a security booth
hey jordan! big fan here. regarding video quality, i think your vids look great already. also, do yourself a favour and try out final cut pro for video editing. many advantages over premiere such as autosaving. also render times are much faster in my experience. take care!
Just Pretend there’s a parking garage where the standing hole is. Then you just need the faux entrance/exit cutouts in the sidewalk across the street from the entrance
bricksie idk if you’ll see this but just wanted to say i love your videos legit make my day i love your energy on camera and you have a beautiful family and i really admire you man just wanted to let you know keep up the great work im loving the videos and just keep being you
Your zoo does have a parking lot. It's just in the manhole you use to access the city. Don't forget that you have to design the city like those manholes aren't really there because IRL we don't have huge multi block holes within our cities.
Have you considered Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing? That’s what I use and it’s great. Good job on your current videos though. I also really like the way the LEGO city is coming.👍
You could have turn the parking spot in an entrance to indicate a parking lot is in the spot where you stand. Win/win you have a parking lot without sacrificing space.

This is actually so nice and perfect advice😂
@@rexpower5022 thanks!! I try lol

Hey guys 😘

Who is complaining about the footage? I feel like your videos have looked high quality for quite a while now...
Totally agree with you. Video quality is great. If not having 4k option is bad video quality then people are just too spoiled with technology today.
Just because you got low expectations doesn't mean it's good
Agree, quality Looks good
@@fromis.9 It looks amazing He is not a camera man for i billion dollar movie
I was going to say that
Nothing wrong with your quality, Jordan. Nice that you're paying attention to it, but its about your content, which is fabulous! You are a true pro!
The quality is just fine! The real AFOL his focus is on the Lego creations, just enjoy the Lego and keep up the wonderful work progress!

What great timing. I just finished tidying up the lego area haha

The Zoo episodes are my favourites. I really like this zoo.
The zoo is looking amazing
I’ve never had a problem with you quality of vids but people are entitled to their own opinion
There's actually a molded giraffe included in a friends set that you can place in your zoo instead of the brick- built one.
Zoo entrance looks awesome. Always enjoy watching your videos.
Gor the back of the skywalk in the zoo you could instead of a second ramp, put another path that goes to the back wall and finishes off the enclosure for the monkeys, or whatever goes in there. Then put the entrance between that and the stair ramp.
Maybe increasing the entrance size a bit? Maybe for some inspiration check out the Dutch amusement park the Efteling. The entrance is beautiful…
The zoo looks sooooooooooooooooooo good !!!!!!😊😊😊
Awesome update love the new zoo entrance and road brilliant
For the Zoo parking, you should just put a sign that says "Zoo Parking This Way" pointing to the tunnel entrance in the raised platform. Then you could also have a side build of a visitor transport bus bringing people from the parking to the zoo.
what an upgrade of the entrens, the change of plants with colour. good work
Good morning brick clickers! Great stuff Bricksie, thanks for the upload!
Love the zoo

I'm ready for getting the amusement park details done.
Mate, you perfected the entrance really well!!!

i love lego and your videos

I love this channel! Watching these videos help with my anxiety (: they're so calming ! Thank you
nice entrance great job
Definitely liking the enterence to the Zoo, I like the progress going on here.
Great addition to the zoo. 🎉
Hey brixie ,i think it would be an amazing idea to use the big Jurassic park door as an zoo entrance 😂😂
Looks super good!! One thing you could do to solve the, “parking” issue is add bus stops. You don’t need parking if the bus takes you to every location
I love what you did to the Zoo entrance and can't wait to see the ramps and entrance.
Hey Jordan I’m really glad I found you on UA-cam because you make my day and inspired me to built my own city

Thank you for the technique video.
First of all I would like to say I think the footage is fine and also I think in the glass viewing area there should be some supports because I don't think glass can hold all that weight
Final Cut X with Compressor to export video is what use and recommend. Overall your video quality still looks good.
4:00 your video quality is better than 99% of UA-camrs I don’t know who is complaining.
I honestly think your video quality and audio is excellent
For your road in front of the zoo. Make it an one way.
Great video dude
Zoo looks great
I think your videos have looked and sounded great.
think many seniors or single moms/dads with kids may go by bus to the Zoo, so that about a nice Bus Stop next to the entrance ?
Cool
Quick idea for you (if you have space).you should build a parking garage modular
Yesss
awesome video jordan the zoo looks amazing great job
Lol I was just joking about the migratory Lego birds 🤣🤣🤣
Keep up the awesome work, love the videos!
Great improvements!
so good🤩
Maybe you could add a car parking area underneath the raised section beside the zoo.
Your quality is fine, but I’d suggest Final Cut Pro X. Also Canon cameras have very rich warm colors and would do better with filming Lego. Sony is good too but they tend to give off a cooler color emphasizing the blue and reds more.

Put a few electric scooter charging stations out front and bicycle parking.
High level bricksie 😎👍✨🌠
Looks great man!
Your quality is just fine!
Flip the benches 90° for the zoo entrance and then the minifigures could get by
You could also make a sign that says “Underground Parking for Zoo” with a directional sign
You can maybe do an underground parking in the mountain.
2nd the note about no need for 4K, the view doesnt significantly improve. You quality is better than most on YT. Upgrade for yourself, but dont worry about us. Plus likely if someone complains, ask them to check their playback is on 720 or 1080. Keep up the great work.

shame on anyone that complains about the quality of free content lol i enjoy the videos regardless so keep up the good work Bricksie.
Everything is fine... have fun man...
You can make the illusion that the parking lot is in the standing hole by having an intersection that leads to the standing hole, with a security booth
Awesome changes! I think it would be cool to add a bus dropping off minifigs in front of the zoo
Hey bricksie, can you show us your most valuable mini figures you own? Love the content man! 😊
Tak!
WOW! Thank you so much!
hey jordan! big fan here. regarding video quality, i think your vids look great already. also, do yourself a favour and try out final cut pro for video editing. many advantages over premiere such as autosaving. also render times are much faster in my experience. take care!
You know I do love the trees in budget humane it is I love the old fashion treats better if I like the vintage
I think it would be better if you made your birdcage shaped like a sphere or a dome...
you could make a sign or something that makes it appear the tunnel has a parking garage in it or something like that
Just Pretend there’s a parking garage where the standing hole is. Then you just need the faux entrance/exit cutouts in the sidewalk across the street from the entrance
Could you make a parking garage for the zoo? Maybe just a smaller 2 level one?
Loving the zoo! Maybe build into the stair ramps a burger / food vendor as the zoo guests need somewhere to buy food!
I love your videos ❤
bricksie idk if you’ll see this but just wanted to say i love your videos legit make my day i love your energy on camera and you have a beautiful family and i really admire you man just wanted to let you know keep up the great work im loving the videos and just keep being you

I love Lego I have a lot of legos
Very, very minor detail. Light grey ingots would look nice to border the flower bed in the entrance.
Idea, add small camera rails on the celling
Have you considered Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing? That’s what I use and it’s great. Good job on your current videos though. I also really like the way the LEGO city is coming.👍
Good choice about not adding a parking garage, it would be ugly in your amazing city
Love it!
There could be a parking lot under the raised platform
I was thinking about ordering lego pieces, but what site do you recommend??
LEGO PAB or BrickLink
You could have turn the parking spot in an entrance to indicate a parking lot is in the spot where you stand. Win/win you have a parking lot without sacrificing space.
Then you could have a pedestrian walkway over the road from the hypothetical parking lot to the zoo.
Free editing software that is really good. Black Magic DaVinci Resolve They also have equipment
