I too have noticed a new found maturity in Avia. She is growing up to be a responsible person with good core values. She does help alot around the home and no one notices the good she does. She is not bratty or sassy for taking the camera off Brock. If it was Emmi who took the camera off him he would of reacted the same? And no one would be calling Emmi a brat. At the end of the day they are all kids and are still learning through growth and it is not our right to judge as viewers. I love the Shaytards and it's upsetting to see so many people calling their kids bratty or immature. Where is the love?

Agreed. I've noticed Avia is growing up very responsible. When Brotard was born she really stepped up with helping around the house and looking after Daxton when Colette and Shay are busy. All the kids are growing up too fast.
It seems like Avia was just trying to teach Brock how to vlog, but Brock just wanted to film himself.

If anything Avia was a great older sister in this vlog. Any older sibling would take the camera from their younger siblings and not even care if they started to cry. Avia only took it from Brock to show him how to vlog bc he wasn't talking or filming himself, just the lights on the tree. Avia saw he was getting upset and gave it back to him to make him happy. To me, that's being a great older sibling that Brock is extremely lucky to have. We all know she loves to vlog, but she saw how happy it made Brock and put him over herself, something you rarely see with older siblings. Avia, if you are reading this, just know that some people in this world are so unbelievably dumb that they feel the need to bully a young girl for no reason. Pay attention to the intelligent, caring people that appreciate all the good you do and don't let any negative idiot bring you down. I would have loved to have a big sister like you growing up. :)

Good parenting Shay on telling Brock that he has to expect snowballs thrown at him if he's gonna throw snowballs at Avia. I feel like the youngest sibling always assumes that he won't get hurt or blamed for whatever he does, and this is so unfair! I remember my mom always blames me when my younger sister cries, and when I complain, she's just like "act like an older sister, she's younger than you". So I'm like always the one to be blamed just because I'm older... I really hate that... #asianparents

Couldn't agree more! Iv just written a bit of an essay rant, and I don't normally post comments, but the comment section is disgusting. All the kids are great. Gavin is so nice to the rest of the kids. Brock loves Daxton and all the kids treat him so well.
I thought it was really sweet when Brock was vlogging and then Avia noticed we weren't really seeing too much and tried to show him how to do it and to show himself but he didn't really understand so she gave it back and we just can see his feet haha so sweet!.. There's always different ways people look at things, I notice quite a few comments saying how mean it was of Avia, but I see it as she was helping her little brother out showing him how he could do it.. Try and look at things in a more positive light rather than jumping straight to a negative conclusion, also I think maybe we all forget all of these kids are still so young, I don't know about you but I made a lot of mistakes as a kid (even now I still make mistakes) and thats just a part of growing up, Bring light to the positives not the negatives :)))

It was a GREAT vlog! One of my favs!
I am 18 and am form Vancouver BC...so this was the 3rd time I got to see one of the kids wearing something I bought them & gave to them at VIDCON this year in Anaheim. That shirt that Brock was wearing all day "Cool like my Pops" and about a month ago he was wearing another one and 2 months ago Emmi was wearing the dress I bought her!! It is just so cool to see that I gave that to them and that they really do acknowledge this gifts we give them (even if they dont always know its from a fan...if its from you, it makes you feel special!!) This was the only family/UA-camr that I cried for meeting them at VIDCON! They honestly mean the world to me and I feel so lucky to have got to meet them and be in the VIDCON vlog (you can see me giving the presents to them in that vlog at 7:18) ! They are so amazing and those kids are just so kind and sweet!! I really hope to meet them again next year! Hope you can come to Vancouver one day! Love you guys so much!

Everyone is saying, oh I wish I had snow. Guess what, you don't. It's fun for about two days and then it is so rubbish. It is always cold, everything gets wet. You can't go anywhere when the roads are all blocked. Be thankful.
Some of us enjoy that. I live for the snow seasons. To each their own.

"Guess what, you don't"??.. you don't have a say if people wish for snow or not. All those negatives you mentioned are negatives maybe for you.. but having been in that kind of situation many times.. I will say that you are full of it.
For you it's nothing but the people in my city and probably everyone else who disagrees, it's something we dream of. I live in the south. It is bloody freaking hot, our highest temperature was 107 degrees F., no I'm not lying. If your AC stops working it sucks because you're sitting down sweating. People get dehydrated really quick, so hospitals are banked. You can't go anywhere because beaches, pools,and water parks are packed so you have to rely on an ice cold bath. You can't go outside and play because the sun is burning your skin the whole time. Im pale so guess what, i don't go outside much because if i do I come back a cherry (wether i wear sun lotion or not). It is always hot, everything is dry. Personally i'm sensitive to cold. If it get's 85-75 degrees outside I'm wearing a sweater because I'm so used to being warm. But i wouldn't care if I'm standing outside and my socks are drenched because my boots couldn't protect themselves from the snow. I wouldn't care if I'm wearing layers of clothes over me, because all that matter is the fact that their is white on the floor instead of burned green. Or the fact that i have to scrape ice off my windshield, or plow my way through the driveway, because it has never been like that for me. Gather around a fireplace and drink hot chocolate. I would dream of it to snow in my city, where i can make snow angels instead of mud pies's, where i would spell my name with the footprints that trail behind me. Because I'm not used to snow, i would love to see little white specks float their way to the ground.
So you don't get to say "be thankful", because it goes the exact same route back to you. From someone who lives in an opposite climate, i could be the one telling you to "be thankful" for snow, but i won't. It's an experience, something on my bucket list, a memory that i'm still hoping for to this day. And i won't let you crush that from you're opinions from your own experience.

The snow must be so fun for the kids after spending several years in Southern California. When I was a kid in NY we would build snow forts with 3 ft. walls about 50 ft. from one another and have snowball fights. It was a blast.
I basically grew up watching the shaytards I subbed back when I was 15 I turned 21 a couple weeks ago. I'm not gonna give you guys a sob story but my family was definitely the complete opposite so watching their vlogs always comforted me and assured me that one day I can just start my own awesome family just as beautiful and positive as theirs instead of wishing my current family was like this. I really don't understand where all the hate is coming from or why people feel the need to pick favorites while being nasty towards their other kids. It really says something about who you are when you bully little kids online like that. His kids have devices to access internet with so I can't imagine how they feel when they read some of the disgusting things y'all say on here. Luckily they seem very happy with positive attitudes so either Shay and Collette are awesome at shielding them from it or they are good at ignoring trolls. Either way what you say gets read so it's still rude some of the stuff I read about Avia and Brock is sickening. I would hate for shay to disable the comments over a few bad apples because most of us love this family like we might love our own and enjoy leaving comments expressing it or just to show support. This channel was the first channel I subbed to and introduced me to what the UA-cam community was about. Before I always thought it was just a site for music and silly videos. I just recently started posting vids myself but my video quality is mediocre so I don't expect a whole lot until I can afford proper equipment. I mainly upload freestyle videos or vlogs here and there but it definitely is a goal of mine to atleast obtain a small following. I can definitely say the shaytards as a whole my first inspiration to do so.

I love them very much. I'm 50 years old and have a wonderful relationship with my two daughters. Unfortunatly my husband is alcoholic and he is out of our lives. Verry often I wish for myself that i have a husband like Shay...and they are a fantasting parents, not just wonderful. Greetings from Slovenia.
I love all their kids personalities, they're so diverse and awesome:) Avia reminds me a lot of my self when I was younger and so guess that's why I've always loved it when she did bits of the vlogs. You all rock, keep it up!

Shay please make sure all the animals (even the cats) are warm enough this winter. I saw on Twitter you tweeted that a random yellow lab showed up at your house and refused to leave so you adopted it but please don't leave him in the garage!If it's to cold for you its to cold of them. But I doubt you guys would do that.
Hi :) Its quite safe for them in the garage and the garage is actually heated and as you see in the vlogs he gives them blankets as well, I understand your worry though, I think if the garage wasn't heated Shay would bring them in the house, he wouldn't just leave them inside. Its only cold when the doors open but since its snowing I doubt they will leave it open because they don't want the snow or frost inside. Hope this eased your worry a bit :)

I think the fact they let the dog in the garage is lovely - not many people would. They have small children, they can't risk letting a random dog into the house with their children when they don't know the temperament of, despite how lovely it may seem :)

I always love seeing Shay or Colette reunite with their family again when they've been away for a while. You can just see the enormous love they have for one another and that they are finally complete!

ikr in buffalo where i live every enternce into or out of south buffalo is blocked off by cops if you drive you could get pulled over and stay there and get a ticket my dad might get stuck at his work over night!

Sometimes it doesn't depend on how much you get. The roads could of been bad where busses couldn't drive to get kids. I rather have no school for kids then having there life's at risk.
well i've lived in RI for about 17 ish years? probably more than that ... and they hardly ever canceled over snow..it had to be a huge storm ..this is just my experience.. its just kinda weird to me when i hear that places cancel over a little snow..
The only time they would do that here is if there was ice under the snow making it unsafe to drive.
Our schools in AR cancel even if it's just like less than an inch. It's because some states aren't as used to certain amounts of snow
yea, i remember last year hearing on the news plenty of states had basically a melt down cause they almost never had snow and got hit with some. so i understand that its still just weird to me lol my cousin moved here from Louisiana and said they closed after a centimeter of snow which blows my mind but thats what i'm used to
let me just say that this vlog brought tears to my eyes because I would do anything to have such a sweet family like this. It just looks so cozy with all the snow and their home is so beautiful and what could be better then a snow day! I wish I was a kid again. shay is such a good dad and always makes sure his kids are happy.
