Love Ben, but that's a bad take on gold to inflation. He's correct that gold is not a hedge against asset/commodity price inflation a la CPI, GDP, etc.. It's a hedge against monetary inflation. In other words, there's more than one kind of inflation.

Actually China is sitting on a giant amount of unsold EV's. It is the main reason why lithiumcarbonates went down~75% in the past year. But yes, copper is still scarce.

My problem with miners vs just owning the gold commodity is the high cost of doing business - equipment, labor. Same problem is occurring in bitcoin where it is soaring but miners are languishing. I don't think this problem ever goes away, especially with very high interest rates and cost of borrowing making growth difficult. Let's see if these names pick up at earnings! High quality copper miners like SCCO are doing well. A few high quality gold miner names are near highs, but it's harder to find.
