It is always nice to watch your videos, you are a fan rather than just a reviewer. These are coming in Sunday for me and they just look great in this video. Hasbro Pulse had free shipping over $75, so I got the animated spider man 2 packs on their outlet section. In Hasbro's recent teasers, they mentioned more large figures for the Avengers to fight. I really like the Sentinel, Galactus, and surely the Giant man when he comes. Do you think they should make a vehicle like the fantasticar/quinjet/blackbird next, or should they stick to a 4th large figure? With X-men 97 this year, it feels like a good time for the blackbird, but it needs to be pretty large to fit the figures inside.

And I absolutely want to see a Fantasticar. I'm trying to think how they could make a Blackbird work. I think a Quinjet could work as a HasLab though.
@@LylesFigureFiles I think the costume I'd most want for Wasp would be the one she had in Avengers #170-171. But then again her classic red and yellow is the one I most identify with her. I haven't seen either one of these so far.

For those collectors (like myself) who could not get the Haslab, this package gives an option to display Hank and Jan. Obviously a lot of work went into Jan and I think ML was able to capture that look ML was trying to achieve. It shows, as Jan is the star of the package. I'm a little confused in the additions of wings, as Jan never had them while fully grown. Regardless, the wings provide a power set that makes displaying the figure "astonishing".
It’s funny, but while I know Jan only had her wings at Wasp size, I always want the wings on my “full size” Wasp figures. It just doesn’t seem like the Wasp without the wings. I wish they would make her in the blue and white costume she was rocking around Taskmaster’s first appearance. That was always my favorite.

He's got sooo many looks. I think I'd love a 12" Goliath in the blue and yellow and a 90s red and yellow Giant-Man to pair with Sersi, Black Widow, Black Knight, Cap and white Vision. But I'd take this too.
@LylesFigureFiles 12-14 inch Red and Blue and Yellow and Blue Goliaths are really needed. The last yellow one was a cheesy holdover from the previous line. Still wish one of the heads for the Haslab had been the Red Goliath goggles head. It wouldn't have been perfect, but the costumes are really close minus the stripe down the arms.

Great review! I also got mine today as well. Pretty shocked about hiw fast it shipped. Mini version of Jan along with some stinger effects would have been perfect. I feel she dhould have been on the teen body since she is a petite woman and quite short historically. I also feel her face looks s bit mature for this particular costume since she was a teenager in this era. But all in all, a very solid offering. Hank is just ok, but his head sculpt looks fantastic. A really nice Avengers two pack! Now how about a Jarvis and Rick Jones two pack for the ongoing Avenger's 60th?

If this Hank Pym is supposed to be a scaled down Haslab Giant Man they kinda missed the mark a little bit with the boots…. the Haslab had big treaded boots….but I guess that can be overlooked…. the Wasp is the real prize in this set. Btw I subscribed.

The actually sculpted new, BETTER female hands!!! About time! I'd like to see them retire those old ones, and just use these going forward! I got two sets of these today, and opened one set to create Giant Man & Wasp for my shelf. Minor complaint with the Wasp's non-helmeted head. It looks like her lower jaw bones shrunk a bit in the mold, so her face looks a bit skinnier than the helmeted version. I would have liked a fuller looking jaw so that her face didn't seem so thin, but again, it's a minor complaint. This might be a mold shrink issue, which are sometimes just unavoidable. If I had to rate this set from 1 to 10, I'd say that this set is a 9.5, or a solid "A" grade from Hasbro. I'm very happy with everything it comes with!
@@LylesFigureFiles To be honest with you, I wanted to display both looks for both figures. I hadn't thought that much about customizing them because I feel like the Legends team really nailed this set. I might try to find a second Antman figure though, just so I can put that Antman helmet on the Giant Man body or something, but you have me thinking now about painting the Wasp body a different color on my second one to create another version of the Wasp. I feel like the Legends team don't realize how cool it would be to release a bunch of different versions of Wasp with different era looks and costumes. I mean, changing costumes was Jan's thing! I really want a version of Wasp with that White and blue striped body suit she was rockin' during the first appearance of the Taskmaster--the one with the one bare sleeve and leg. lol. (See cover of AVENGERS #195). I think it will always be my favorite costume that she sported. That costume was all Perez, so I'd be so down with that!

I think this is a smart and sensible 2 pack, the Wasp figure is amazing. Giant man looks rather sinister. We need updates and upgrades to all the classic Silver Age looks and Bronze Age looks.
Personally I feel it was worth; I wasn’t going to participate in the Haslab and this is the perfect alternative. I might buy a 12 inch Hank if they ever get around to it
I got em Friday too!!! So fast. Wasp is pretty much perfect. The Matte paint on the dress looks amazing. The helmet with the moveable antenna and mouthpiece is amazing. I never thought id ever get a Hank Pym in a lab coat figure, and he's damn near perfect as well. I do think the body doesn't quite work for GM. Its a little slim. It works for Ant Man better. I think the helmet offsets it enough. They could have used the body from the modern GM from years back. But thats just a nitpick. But overall a Really nice set.
@LylesFigureFiles I'm honestly not sure. It may have been, especially with how old it is. I just busted out all my Pyms and liked the build on that one a touch better. I like they made him super close to the Target Ant Man, but feel like they drew him a little bulked up after he became GM. Great set overall just being a little nitpicky.

Faces are great, bodies are ok I guess, probably the best Hank Pym in this scale, even with that odd weird paint at the butterfly joints, they should just put a plastic straps, like they did with the Haslab figure.

Oh yeah, by the that’s Scott Lang Ant-Man not Hank’s. You can tell by the boot design. But it’s also your collection so if you want him to be Hank, he’s Hank. Lol
Amen! That would scale well and accurately to all his early appearances in Avengers and Tales to Astonish. I wonder...maybe they will release a 12" version. If this Wasp package sells well, it would only make sense that people would want a 6" 12" and 24" (or whatever size the Haslab was) version.
My tallest figure is a 13" Godzilla, followed by a 12" Zilla, then 11 1/2" King Kong, oversized 12" T-Rex, then I have 4 12" Titan Sentinels, and a 12" Toy Biz Sentinel. From there I go down to Pym 10" Giant Man and 10" Lang Giant Man, 10" Fin Fang Foom, 9" Ultraman and 9" Galactus! Watcher is about 10" too.
The Iron Man is a bit weak as there was no leg articulation at all. The Thor and Hulk weren't bad. And it came with small limited articulation Ant Man and Wasp and 3 non posable Ants. Ah, and I got a 12" Titan Lang Ant Man yesterday at 5Below. Only 5 points of articulation, but I have 3 Marvel Earth's so I can use him on one of the others. In addition to my 616 I have Marvel Earth's 777 and 818. Earth 818 is slightly Futuristic so I put Futuristic looking Figures there. Armored Thor, Iron Man 2020, Ultimate Captain America, White Magneto, Old Man Logan now leads the X-Men, etc.
I'm surprised how disappointed I was with this boxed set. I love the original Wasp look and they did her well. But all my Avengers figures are 1970s versions so she really doesn't seem to fit in. She's too retro-1960s looking. I don't think they've ever done one of her 1970's classic costumes, so this is the first Wasp I've gotten. And she just looks - out of place. And Giantman - he looks absolutely ridiculous at this size. Worse than I expected. I grew up on the Marvel Comics of the early-mid 1960s through the mid-1980s. In all his appearances in earlier issues of Avengers and Tales to Astonish, Giantman virtually always shown at around 9'-12' in height, in every panel of every issue. Even while resting and lounging around the Avengers mansion, he was very, very rarely drawn at 6" tall - usually he was between 9' and 12' in those scenes. This 6' scale figure just looks way off to my mind. Way too small. Like he belongs in a different toy line (he'd scale perfectly mixed into the 3.75" line). In the same way, I didn't order the Haslab Giantman because, again, he was virtually never shown at that height. Visually he looks far too big to me - out of scale with the other Avengers. The perfect size for Giantman, based on the comics, would be a 12" Super-Adaptoid sized figure. I'm hoping we get that eventually. I'm also disappointed with the lazy effort on the lab equipment. The round beaker looks ridiculous with a blue bar inside. It doesn't look like it has liquid inside - it looks like a giant blue rubber stopped got jammed into it. It looks chintzy and cheap and poorly designed - because it is. I also realized they should have included a miniature Wasp. What good is having the Wasp if she can't shrink down to her fighting size? They already released a miniature Wasp in a release years ago, in that very costume, so why not include it? There's almost zero cost involved and it would have been a far more logical and appreciated inclusion than the chintzy lab beakers or that tiny quinjet token (I guess I can use it when playing Monopoly, but come on!). WTH is up with that quinjet token piece? What could it possibly be used for? I have to say I was more excited for this boxed set than I should have been and I'm surprised how disappointed I feel about it now. The figures look great, as far as sculpting and paint. Wasp is picture perfect to her early 1970's costume. And yet...eh. Disappointed.
I also found it very odd that they used SILVER plastic for the lab beakers. Doesn't Hasbro know that glass is CLEAR? I don't see why they changed it for this release. It looks very odd.
@@LylesFigureFiles It's cool. I mean, we have gotten lots of great figures so far this year and some upcoming announced ones that I'm excited to be getting. Ikaris? One of my most wanted and they did him perfectly! Count Nefaria? OH YEAH! Original Baron Zemo, Whiplash, etc. Awesome! I actually think the Wasp looks great. They did a really fine job. I just didn't expect her to look so out of place in my Avengers line up. But I'm definitely keeping the Wasp until they release a 1970s version with her read and yellow costume.
So far it seems like the quality of recent releases of Marvel Legends has been pretty high. I've gotten no defective figures. Marvel Select on the other hand, not so. I ordered Crimson Dynamo and his gear-like shoulder armor piece was super loose on only the left shoulder. I returned it for a replacement. Same problem. Same exact problem. After putting up with the crappy customer service at Marvel Select, they sent me a loose replacement and...his left armor gear is loose! Not as badly loose as the other two, this one was at least acceptably tight, but it was a THIRD figure with the exact same problem on the exact same arm. What are the odds? It has to be a quality control issue. Between that and the poor customer service, I doubt I'll be buying any more Marvel Select figures. I hope the upcoming Annihilus doesn't have these problems.

As you know, Hank and Jan are two of my very favorite Marvel characters. That said, Giant Man was always my least favorite of Hank's superhero personas. I loved Ant-Man and Yellowjacket. He had some of his best characterization as Professor Pym during the West Coast era. Even the blue and yellow Goliath costume I like better than Giant Man. However, I wasn't going to pass up that HasLab, nor was I going to pass up this two-pack. I think this Hank figure is pretty dang good. I love both head sculpts. I'm glad he's on the same body as Ant-Man for the sake of continuity. He can hold the vials with his trigger grip hand, but it would've been nice if he could hold both of them better. The miniaturized Quinjet is a nice touch, but honestly I would've preferred mini Hank or mini Jan over that or the tablet. Like you said, the year is early but Wasp is already a contender for figure of the year. Pretty much perfect. I would take a repaint in the red and yellow outfit she wore when she married Yellowjacket. Can use the unmasked head and just lose the skirt.
I hope we see a Yellowjacket revealed soon too! And that WCA run was one of my favorites of his as well. And I definitely want that blue and yellow Goliath!
@@LylesFigureFiles Same here. I hope we see another Avengers wave with Yellowjacket, Mantis, Swordsman, original Wonderman, Graviton and maybe Immortus. That could feature a BAF of Goliath or a proper 12" Giantman (I think I might prefer Goliath), or maybe Arsenal (unlikely because not that many people remember him, but he'd look so cool!). But that would pretty much wrap up my Avengers lineup (outside of a few still-needed villains).
So he wore this exact outfit JUST for Avengers #2 in the Avengers titles. Can't speak on Tales to Astonish. The problem with Hank is his costumes kept changing so much they had to settle on one look and it's the most visually interesting of this early era Giant-Man.

Considering they already made a 2.5" Wasp in this very costume long ago, it would only have made sense. But Hasbro isn't known for their common sense.

They know we want that growing effect. I'm thinking they might re-release that G.M. BAF or retool it like M.O.D.O.C.K, make it a deluxe Giant Man.

I'd love to see the original X-Men with this kind of quality.
Personally I feel it was worth; I wasn’t going to participate in the Haslab and this is the perfect alternative. I might buy a 12 inch Hank if they ever get around to it
They could do a year of 12" figures for HasLab and still have some options left over ;-)

I got em Friday too!!! So fast. Wasp is pretty much perfect. The Matte paint on the dress looks amazing. The helmet with the moveable antenna and mouthpiece is amazing.
I never thought id ever get a Hank Pym in a lab coat figure, and he's damn near perfect as well. I do think the body doesn't quite work for GM. Its a little slim. It works for Ant Man better. I think the helmet offsets it enough. They could have used the body from the modern GM from years back. But thats just a nitpick. But overall a Really nice set.
What body did the modern GM use? Thought that was the Bucky Cap mold.
@LylesFigureFiles I'm honestly not sure. It may have been, especially with how old it is. I just busted out all my Pyms and liked the build on that one a touch better. I like they made him super close to the Target Ant Man, but feel like they drew him a little bulked up after he became GM. Great set overall just being a little nitpicky.

Faces are great, bodies are ok I guess, probably the best Hank Pym in this scale, even with that odd weird paint at the butterfly joints, they should just put a plastic straps, like they did with the Haslab figure.
I wonder how hard that would be to do and not restrict the articulation?
Wow, that shipped quick. I’m definitely getting the set but just for the Wasp. Thankfully, I have a miniature of that her in that costume already. It’s shame that Hasbro didn’t include one. Oh yeah, by the that’s Scott Lang Ant-Man not Hank’s. You can tell by the boot design. But it’s also your collection so if you want him to be Hank, he’s Hank. Lol

That's why I didn't go for the Haslab. I wanted him in 12"! I actually have a 10" Giant Man from an old Avengers #1 pack!
Amen! That would scale well and accurately to all his early appearances in Avengers and Tales to Astonish. I wonder...maybe they will release a 12" version. If this Wasp package sells well, it would only make sense that people would want a 6" 12" and 24" (or whatever size the Haslab was) version.
My tallest figure is a 13" Godzilla, followed by a 12" Zilla, then 11 1/2" King Kong, oversized 12" T-Rex, then I have 4 12" Titan Sentinels, and a 12" Toy Biz Sentinel. From there I go down to Pym 10" Giant Man and 10" Lang Giant Man, 10" Fin Fang Foom, 9" Ultraman and 9" Galactus! Watcher is about 10" too.

The Iron Man is a bit weak as there was no leg articulation at all. The Thor and Hulk weren't bad. And it came with small limited articulation Ant Man and Wasp and 3 non posable Ants. Ah, and I got a 12" Titan Lang Ant Man yesterday at 5Below. Only 5 points of articulation, but I have 3 Marvel Earth's so I can use him on one of the others. In addition to my 616 I have Marvel Earth's 777 and 818. Earth 818 is slightly Futuristic so I put Futuristic looking Figures there. Armored Thor, Iron Man 2020, Ultimate Captain America, White Magneto, Old Man Logan now leads the X-Men, etc.
Need to get my hands on this set!

Those look nice. I'm not a fan of Giantman, but I hope I can get the Wasp to go with my Antman. Then I will have all the OG Avengers team.
Hopefully you can find some folks who only wanted Giant-Man.

I'm surprised how disappointed I was with this boxed set. I love the original Wasp look and they did her well. But all my Avengers figures are 1970s versions so she really doesn't seem to fit in. She's too retro-1960s looking. I don't think they've ever done one of her 1970's classic costumes, so this is the first Wasp I've gotten. And she just looks - out of place.
And Giantman - he looks absolutely ridiculous at this size. Worse than I expected. I grew up on the Marvel Comics of the early-mid 1960s through the mid-1980s. In all his appearances in earlier issues of Avengers and Tales to Astonish, Giantman virtually always shown at around 9'-12' in height, in every panel of every issue. Even while resting and lounging around the Avengers mansion, he was very, very rarely drawn at 6" tall - usually he was between 9' and 12' in those scenes. This 6' scale figure just looks way off to my mind. Way too small. Like he belongs in a different toy line (he'd scale perfectly mixed into the 3.75" line).
In the same way, I didn't order the Haslab Giantman because, again, he was virtually never shown at that height. Visually he looks far too big to me - out of scale with the other Avengers. The perfect size for Giantman, based on the comics, would be a 12" Super-Adaptoid sized figure. I'm hoping we get that eventually.
I'm also disappointed with the lazy effort on the lab equipment. The round beaker looks ridiculous with a blue bar inside. It doesn't look like it has liquid inside - it looks like a giant blue rubber stopped got jammed into it. It looks chintzy and cheap and poorly designed - because it is.
I also realized they should have included a miniature Wasp. What good is having the Wasp if she can't shrink down to her fighting size? They already released a miniature Wasp in a release years ago, in that very costume, so why not include it? There's almost zero cost involved and it would have been a far more logical and appreciated inclusion than the chintzy lab beakers or that tiny quinjet token (I guess I can use it when playing Monopoly, but come on!). WTH is up with that quinjet token piece? What could it possibly be used for?
I have to say I was more excited for this boxed set than I should have been and I'm surprised how disappointed I feel about it now. The figures look great, as far as sculpting and paint. Wasp is picture perfect to her early 1970's costume. And yet...eh. Disappointed.
I also found it very odd that they used SILVER plastic for the lab beakers. Doesn't Hasbro know that glass is CLEAR? I don't see why they changed it for this release. It looks very odd.

One of my most wanted and they did him perfectly! Count Nefaria? OH YEAH! Original Baron Zemo, Whiplash, etc. Awesome! I actually think the Wasp looks great. They did a really fine job. I just didn't expect her to look so out of place in my Avengers line up. But I'm definitely keeping the Wasp until they release a 1970s version with her read and yellow costume.
So far it seems like the quality of recent releases of Marvel Legends has been pretty high. I've gotten no defective figures. Marvel Select on the other hand, not so. I ordered Crimson Dynamo and his gear-like shoulder armor piece was super loose on only the left shoulder. I returned it for a replacement. Same problem. Same exact problem. After putting up with the crappy customer service at Marvel Select, they sent me a loose replacement and...his left armor gear is loose! Not as badly loose as the other two, this one was at least acceptably tight, but it was a THIRD figure with the exact same problem on the exact same arm. What are the odds? It has to be a quality control issue. Between that and the poor customer service, I doubt I'll be buying any more Marvel Select figures. I hope the upcoming Annihilus doesn't have these problems.

As you know, Hank and Jan are two of my very favorite Marvel characters. That said, Giant Man was always my least favorite of Hank's superhero personas. I loved Ant-Man and Yellowjacket. He had some of his best characterization as Professor Pym during the West Coast era. Even the blue and yellow Goliath costume I like better than Giant Man. However, I wasn't going to pass up that HasLab, nor was I going to pass up this two-pack.
I think this Hank figure is pretty dang good. I love both head sculpts. I'm glad he's on the same body as Ant-Man for the sake of continuity. He can hold the vials with his trigger grip hand, but it would've been nice if he could hold both of them better. The miniaturized Quinjet is a nice touch, but honestly I would've preferred mini Hank or mini Jan over that or the tablet.
Like you said, the year is early but Wasp is already a contender for figure of the year. Pretty much perfect. I would take a repaint in the red and yellow outfit she wore when she married Yellowjacket. Can use the unmasked head and just lose the skirt.
Oh man, I want that red and yellow version most of all! I grew up on that costume for Wasp! It would make a great 2-pack with Yellowjacket!

@@LylesFigureFiles Same here. I hope we see another Avengers wave with Yellowjacket, Mantis, Swordsman, original Wonderman, Graviton and maybe Immortus. That could feature a BAF of Goliath or a proper 12" Giantman (I think I might prefer Goliath), or maybe Arsenal (unlikely because not that many people remember him, but he'd look so cool!). But that would pretty much wrap up my Avengers lineup (outside of a few still-needed villains).

So he wore this exact outfit JUST for Avengers #2 in the Avengers titles. Can't speak on Tales to Astonish. The problem with Hank is his costumes kept changing so much they had to settle on one look and it's the most visually interesting of this early era Giant-Man.

Wow.. taking a page from Gi Joe classified, the legends team came up with the very first Haslab DLC. They could’ve included this with their Giant man Haslab but no, they chose to wait and release it separately to get more of my hard earned money. Godspeed hasbro but I ain’t getting these.😡
