ok so , first of all you are doing a great job, thanks for all these tutorials. and don't stop making these educational videos . i m jumping to maya after learning max. and i think your channel is good for that. i want to master maya like max. keep it up and dont stop making vids.
Wow that jump was very stepped! from 1060 to 4090 is 3 generations newer + at least 3 tiers (because it can be 6 if you count the Ti of the 60, 70 and 80 tiers). I did something similar some years ago when I went from a ryzen 1700 to a ryzen 5950x and from a gtx 960 4gb to a 3080 12gb. For now I can live with this but if I find the opportunity I will swap the 3080 + some $$$ for a 3090 just for those sweeet 24gb of vram. Substance painter in particular eats vram like mad 🤣Anyhow good video and congrats for that super machine you got...you are set for 3 to 6 years!
i write this down, because im still using core i3 9100f to render in maya, set the goal and see how long it will take to upgrade my PC in the future. very infomative video
Very Nice set up. I am still using a 2023 copy of Maya, is there much difference between that version and yours? I did upgrade it to Arnold 5.3.5.3 (v7.2). By the way, love your videos! Oh and can Maya ramp up the samples (and other settings) in GPU to equal the quality of the CPU? Lastly would buying a second GPU help on that issue or is GPU rendering always going to be worse then CPU rendering?
I have a problem when rendering using GPU. It doesn't render out any texture and it replace all mesh with white basic material like lambert or aiStandardSurface. Do you know the reason why? All my materials is aiToon.
To speed up the opening even more, I would disable most of the plugins, that you don't use. You can easily make a marking menu to load the plugins on demand, if you need it for your current session, but there is no real point to loading all of it, on each start. I have my marking menu assigned to the hotbox south region. :)
I remember being just as ecstatic a couple of years back when I upgraded my i5 4960, nvidia gtx 960, 32 Gb ddr3 to a Ryzen 9 5950x, Nvidia RTX 3080, 64Gb ddr 4
I mean, It seems to take too long to kick in, and that's a possibility. You just have to do it once, unless you go thru a new installation or major Maya/Arnold upgrade or system modification.
Hi there, I did not prepopulate before rendering. I just clicked render. It does render much faster when you go through the first render phase, especially with iterations.
well you sold me. its time for me to upgrade i have an i7 6700 too and its takes 126 seconds for me to start maya. i would hit start and go get a cup of coffee, i suppose i had to see a bench mark i understood to realize it was time. thank you
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus Oh by the way, 1 of the ways that you can make it load faster. Is 1st you kick of a cpu IPR, let it load for like 5 sec. And then switch to GPU :)
every animator have a happy movement when comparing old computer n new its satisfaction
Absolutely! I'm still stunned how quickly it renders!
Congrats on the new PC, it makes a huge difference!
It really does! I'm thrilled with it ☺️
I loved your experience and it helped me test what I wanted . Thank you

Thank you so much! I love making tutorials, so I don't plan to stop anytime soon. Enjoy Maya! It's similar to Max 😊
Congrats on your new computer! Less time to explore more!
Thank you! I'm loving the speed and it's so quiet! 🤩
Very happy for you :) hope the new PC will last long and help you develop a lot of cool stuff :) good job and stay beautiful :)
Thank you so much! It's running so quietly....
Huge saving time! Now more time to research or experiment new things. Congrats my teacher! 😊
Yes, exactly! It's going to give me more time to explore 😊And thank you!
Why is there ai stuff in this
Trying something new! I didn't want ppl to just watch an empty screen... 😅
Grats on the new system! Clueless how it took you this long to upgrade 😉
I know... it's was overdue
Congrats on your new PC!!! 😊

That's a great idea. Thanks for the tips! 😊
RTX 4090! Wow🔥. Can't wait to see new uploads using this beast🤞🏼. Keep it up Monica...
I'm so happy because rendering is SO MUCH FASTER! 😍😍

Wow, the difference between the 1060 and the 4090 is HUGE. I wish more Bifrost Graph simulations would use the GPU, but someday...
we can always dream.... 😊😊
Great video thank you , please can u make a video like that compare Bifrost simulation between old and new computers.
Thanks for the idea!😊
Did you prepopulate the GPU before testing?

Do it! You are not going to look back! 😊😊
nice, enjoy ur new toy! i love it
Thank you! It's such a fast, quiet, and wonderful machine!
That is not how it works just comparing an "old" and "new".
Time launch mostly depends on storage.
Good to know!
?? This criticism makes no sense...
Its taking a long time the gpu mode to show something, because it has to dump all the geo into gpu ram
I think so. Once it's done, iterations are really fast

@@fedeyoshizato2830 Nice! I'll have to try that! :)
Can I have the old one? 🥺 Please?
Ahhh sorry, my old PC is being donated to someone.
why don't you use blender?
There are plenty of artist out there using Blender. 😊 And I love your name 🐈

How much you spend on building a new computer
A pretty good amount. I'm going to be using this PC for years!
Hey you had the same pc as mine but mine had 32gigs of ram
Nice! You must have invested a good chunk too. Enjoy your new toy!
Your new pc is great. Send me the old one😅
Thank you! And sorry, my old PC is being donated to someone. 💖
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus lol don't worry it was just a joke😅
Can i have ur old one🤗
Awwww, sorry. It's already being donated to someone. 💖
