Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman are my favorite metal guitar playing duo. They just fit together so well. Nothing against the other lead guitarists but Marty just fit that band like a glove.
The band lineup for megadeth during this era was the best in my opinion. This album is called Rust in Peace. They captured lightning in a bottle when they composed that album. Just Epic. Release date September 1990. I was 14 now I'm 48. 🤘

This was Megadeth's 3rd and most prolific line-up from 1990 - 1998... Tragically, Nick Menza (drums) passed away (R.I.P.) in 2016. Dave Mustaine (guitar/ vocals) was Metallica's original lead guitarist and co-wrote their debut album "Kill 'em all" in 1983 - he was fired and replaced by Kirk Hammett just before the album was recorded... Mustaine formed Megadeth in '83 as a way to get revenge on Metallica at the time... He has since made peace w/ his former band. Dave Mustaine had a serious drug and alcohol problem and was often violent when provoked - that was what led to him being fired by Metallica... After forming Megadeth w/ David Ellefson (bass), things didn't get better... Gar Samuelson (drums) and Chris Poland (guitar) joined Megadeth (their first line-up) and both did he+++n and got both Mustaine and Ellefson hooked on the drug... After 2 albums, the fighting and abuse was followed by the band's equipment being hawked for drug money and both Samuelson and Poland were fired by 1987. Gar Samuelson died in 1999. Megadeth's 2nd line-up was short-lived and recorded 1 album in 1988 w/ Jeff Young (guitar) and Chuck Behler (drums)... both were fired by 1989 and Dave Mustaine was facing jail time for DUI incident and forced to rehab again to get clean. Things looked up as both Mustaine and David Ellefson were clean in 1990 but financially broke from drug abuse... Marty Friedman (guitar) and Nick Menza (drums) joined and Megadeth recorded 'Rust in Peace'... It became the band's first platinum-selling record (1 million copies sold) in the US and even though Megadeth could not match Metallica's popularity, they were a huge draw on tour. Dave Mustaine also got married around this time but fell into drug abuse again by 1993... It would be more years of struggle before he could finally kick his addictions after 2001... Megadeth was still one of the few metal bands in the 90's that enjoyed massive success in the grunge/ alternative rock era.

This song is a big part of the reason I've had tinnitus for 20 years 😅😅. When I started playing guitar, the internet was still a baby. I was 4 years in when the first smartphones came out. So all I had when I was learning were my ears and a few random tabs online, made by other people going by ear BECAUSE the official tab book for this album was very very inaccurate. So I learned most of this album by just cranking the music up and listening to it over and over, figuring out small bits at a time. I did it, but I ruined my ears as well lol. Turn down the music, kiddos. Hearing what sounds like teapots going off in your ears for the rest of your life is a really stressful life, and I'm putting that so very lightly.

As others have pointed out to you - Dave Mustaine was part of the original lineup of Metallica - but they kicked him out of the band for partying too much. Imagine being so wild that Metallica kicks you out of the band!! So he picks himself up and starts his own band and goes onto his own legend and fame instead of being a foot note in music history.. A life lesson for the rest of us !
Growing up when it came to the mainstream metal bands, ya had Metallica kids and Megadeth kids! I was definitely of the latter😈every member was more talented, Metallica did have some great songs and they covered a few of my favorite band the Misfits songs “last caress”, “die die my darling”, and “green hell”! They even rocked the Misfits black armbands for several years ala Cliff Burton
@ The Misfits are a must! They inspired soooo many bands and I guarantee you’ve seen their skull logo it’s everywhere! For a beginner “dig up her bones” is great. They’re horror punk, meant to be shocking lyrics and look!
Dave's voice is super unique and metal as fuck. People like to trashtalk his voice, but it's really what makes Megadeth.

This is the most bizarre reaction I've ever seen. I don't know how I got here :P.
Being bizarre is awesome. ✨️
I admire Dave Mustaine for this. ✨️🌌✨️
How cool. I haven't heard The Misfits or Metallica yet or that I know of. ✨️✨️
@ The Misfits are a must! They inspired soooo many bands and I guarantee you’ve seen their skull logo it’s everywhere! For a beginner “dig up her bones” is great. They’re horror punk, meant to be shocking lyrics and look!
Metal ist the Law.💀
