- Well it has been a year since we did an update on the Busted Knuckle Bronco Prerunner Build. We took it out to King of the Hammers and beat on it with our friends at Desolate Motorsports. We quickly figured out that we had built one killer Ford Bronco Prerunner but the interior needed a lot of help. Well we got with PRP and put some of their awesome seats in it, mounted our custom KC lightbar and even installed a new center console from Tuffy. A few months later we were daily driving it pretty hard when the Ford 351 just started sputtering and lost all power. We worked for months trying to diagnose the issue with no answers. So now it's time to rip it out and make something happen. Maybe we can add some power to this beast of a Bronco!

If you didn't figure this out yet, I had the same issue with mine FWIW. Just a prerunner project that only goes out once a year. After 2 years, I finally ruled it down to a TPS issue. I found the throttle body shaft blade for the throttle position was not clocked right. Even after drilling out the sensor mount holes on a new one, it was way off. First time I ever seen this issue. It ran great the first few years I took it out. Replaced the throttle body with another I had, checked and set TPS, and all is good. Awesome build, BTW
Injectors were clogged
@@BustedKnuckleVideo wow. That's usually due to never having a filter changed and it broke. Or it sat forever with old fuel. I've had a few injectors go bad. Atleast it's an easy repair. Looking forward to the next video of it.

I've own an 89 and the stock top was textured from the factory. It looks fine a little more texture but still good
I think it turned out great. stuff is tough too! Hopefully we have a major update for this build soon!

@@exaviermcnair7252 my motor is on hold cause we are having trouble getting heads. Dss is so far behind they couldn't quote me a price, brodex took the money and ran and afr too is delayed. Ran some of the tubing and cut most of the interior out.

Yeah... I noticed that in the video. No plans as of yet to do anything with the stereo. May just do some race headsets from Rugged with Bluetooth for music!

So freaking sick! I have a 96 Bronco with the Solo Stage 4 kit and am looking at making a lot of the upgrades you did! My BIGGEST problem has been trying to find light mounts for the 57" gravity light bar. Your link was for the 50" but I counted 9 lights and want to confirm you used the 57 inch. Also, is there ANY WAY for me to buy the same mounts you have???
We custom made the mounts. They weren’t too bad but not something we make for customers
hey for the 2 part primer did you get the gallon size or quart size. and same thing for the tuffcoat surface, what size can did you get for that as well. Im going to go that on my bronco.

Should try airless tires, I heard they were better for offroading because the way it can bend around rocks and stuff, I really want you to test them against normal stickies

Dang clogged 2 one time we’re doing a blueprint and balance 408 in my 89 with the Holley Sniper kit fuel injection ignition and all now then on to suspension something I don’t know a ton about

did you shut off the security when you did your tune? on a chevy i swapped i did hp tuners and after two months found out i had to change a crank sensor number value from zero to a one. id recheck that junk before yanking the motor.

I am a little curious about this question. It does have a factory keyless entry with some type of security. Not sure if it has a fuel or spark interrupt, though. Great question!
Just looked it up. Looks like the security system would have had a starter interrupt, which wouldn't have allowed the starter to turn over. We were able to get that to happen.
Do a compression test before yanking. I mean, are you getting a pulse signal at the coil from ecm, icm, and distributor?
Already did compression test and everything looked fine.
Yes on the pulse signal. Every spark plug is firing. It will actually run injecting starting fluid into the intake.
Said you changed distributor . Check wiring from switch to distributor and voltage .Do a compression test on all the cylinders. And check the valves if not already ?

Yes. Spark on all 8 and good compression. Actually can somewhat run on starting fluid

Did these trucks have the little red impact button under the glove box?
I'm not familiar with that.
@@BustedKnuckleVideo some of the fords had an impact switch under the dash behind the glove box that wouldn’t allow them to start, i’m not real familiar with it but I’ve seen it and some of the earlier EFI models
@@brandonfenstermaker2375 Yes, they do have the impact fuel switch. But that only cuts off the fuel pump (from my knowledge). Fuel pump is running and it is getting into the cylinders. We actually checked 5 injectors with a noid light. Only 5, because the other two are buried under the intake.

Oh, you are going to add a sport cage like they sell for Jeep’s that adds the A-pillar bars and the rest of the cage to cover the driver. 👍
My wife said that was 9.5 - 10 inches headroom.

what did you use for the floor
Just a vinyl replacement floor. I can't remember the manufacturer, but you can get them online all day long. Requires some trimming, but pretty easy to install.

Check the computer, I know there are a few caps that blow and causes it not to run.

I had a jeep once that I probably spent $1500-$2000 dollars on parts and investigation for a stalling problem. Turned out to be a bad ground to the frame. $5 at most to fix.
