The zero-g shot near the end with Cailee Spaeny’s character trying to avoid hitting the streams of acid blood floating around her is such a great(and terrifying) concept.
The motion tracker noise in the trailer doesn't mean they use them in the movies. Especially considering this takes place between Alien and Aliens - those motion trackers may not even exist in the time this is set. Could just be a trailer thing to get you hyped.
That trailer is seriously terrifying. And the visuals look amazing. And I love that this is set right between the first two movies, which are both classics I've watched countless times now. I am so hyped.
It always bodes well when the sound design in a trailer is this good. I love how they also they showed a ton of footage, but all we really know is, _“Blue collar people with no options exploited by the company in a location with the Xenomorph”_ …which is just the core premise of ALL the initial films, so it didn't even spoil any of its story. The callbacks are _so_ fantastic without feeling like they're too derivative, and the cinematography looks INCREDIBLE. Those hallways and outer space shots are just jaw-dropping. Given the timeline and Ridley Scott's involvement, it's probably worth checking out *_Prometheus_* & *_Alien Covenant_* since they take place chronologically before *_Alien_* so there might be some details that carry through. I am stoked for you to get into *_Predator_* and all the *_AvP_* films even if I hold them in a different context. Same reason you never have to choose a favourite between *_Alien_* & *_Aliens_* - they're different genres with different things to like about them.
There is an alien tv series coming (somewhere in 2025) that may span several seasons, and, apparently, Disney has been sitting on a completely finished Predator animated series for literally several years now, but is for whatever reason not releasing it. Oh, and there is an eight episode terminator animated series coming on august 29 on netflix, called Terminator Zero, and takes place in Japan (with none of the Connor family involved in this one, will be its own story, but takes place around the time of Judgement Day, as in the end of the world judgment day, not the movie).
I am so hyped for this. I wish there was an update on the Alien TV series, I'm looking forward to that and very intrigued as to how they do that. But apparently it's still coming. Looking forward to your Alien Resurrection reaction and more of your Alien Isolation playthrough.
Could not agree with you more. The Xeno is definitely scary, but the facehuggers? I'd flush myself into space and die that way before I let one of those bitches get on me.
I've been warching your plays so I know it's suoer fresh, but i think all of us who've survived Alien Isolation had a reflexive response to that ewcalating motion tracker ping at the begininng. 💀 I was also getting Sevastopol vibes from tue scenery and then we see its a starion, so makes sense its a similar design. Replacing the word "scream" with an off kilter scream sound. Then to leave us with that remake of a classic Ripley scene ... I'm with you this trailer hit all the marks and I am very keen for Romulus to drop!
Suggestion start with Prey first. It is supposed to be the prequel to Predator & Predator II. Also looking forward to you reaction to Predators. It's my favorite of the series.
Wish to god hollywood would get a damn imagination and dream up sometime else. They've been parading out-used ideas for far too long. No one did it better than James Cameron.
I will be a _little_ disappointed if they completely discard the more existential, cosmic philosophy musings from Prometheus and Covenant(and which were also present in more subtle, show-don't-tell ways in the original Alien). Not that Covenant or Prometheus were great films, or even good films, but part of the brilliance of Alien as a franchise was embedded in it right from the beginning with the space jockey scene. Which for me is the single most evocative shot in movie history, just for how much work it does with a single image - it instantly expands the world of the film a hundredfold, because now you're not just dealing with an alien, you're dealing with civilisational mysteries, different species of aliens, hierarchies, histories, deep time. If this franchise had only ever been about aliens killing people it wouldn't have captured people's imaginations as much as it has. So I understand the back to basics approach Romulus seems to be taking, but it'll be missing something if that's all it is.

I love how it's not "in space, no one can hear you scream", but simply "no one can hear you".
I find that so much more chilling 😬
What? Watch again.
@@lukereeve9658 the "scream" is not written. It is implied by the silent cries of horror of the characters
Apologies you are quite right. I misread your post. 😊

Love how it resembles Alien more but there are traces of Aliens (ie the iconic motion tracker noise)

good comment my dude. completely agree
This looks like Ridley Scott. Looking forward to seeing what Fede did here.
This was such a terrifying trailer remind me of when I first encounter with the Xenomorph when I first played alien isolation
That trailer is good. I've seen just Alien and Aliens so good they are. This does have potential and looks interesting

Yup, this is a film, the series is a separate one where it takes place on Earth.
When the facehugger was grabbing that guy, did you notice its proboscis was trying to go up his nostril?? This looks insane dude!!
Totally off topic but Grizz where did you find that amazing animated background you used as a greenscreen backdrop? I love it! It's so atmospheric.
Nice, but as usual, I feel like I have seen the movie now. ;)
I will forever stand on my opinion that I’d rather face a xenomorph and be killed than have to face a facehugger
Could not agree with you more. The Xeno is definitely scary, but the facehuggers? I'd flush myself into space and die that way before I let one of those bitches get on me.
fede done the edits for the trailers
Thanks, Grizz! 👾
🔥great, i'm ready for thisssss🔥 cheers from chile, don't forget to go with predator(1986), predator2 (1990), predators (2010) and Prey(2022).
this looks fantastic

Stay away from New Rockstars trailer breakdown as it spoils some parts of the franchise Grizzy haven't watched yet.
KYLE KATARN!!!!
Good review and reaction
Wait, Kyle Katarn?
Kyle Katarn's evil twin???!!!
You’re right, they look the same.
This is a movie I thought? Not a series? My cinema has pre bookings up
Yep. Movie. There is also an alien show with Timothy Olyphant coming from the dude who did Fargo I believe
✨👻✨

Vox Machina? 😢

The engineer storyline was so interesting to me so sad what they did in covenant
@@Allenlookup I hated the Engineer storyline for destroying the mystery of the space jockey scene from Alien.
This isn't a show its a movie.
Okay.
And?
Predator, Predator 2, Predators, and The Predator are worth watching. The AvP films are… 😑
hard pass
