My wife said once "you're not even a mechanic why do you need Snap On tools" and I said "you're not twenty years old so why do you need to color your hair". That was a cold ass couple of weeks sleeping in the shed.

My old Snap-on guy never pushed boxes on young guys. He kept a line of good quality, economy priced carts to get started. He always pushed the everyday tools, not the latest greatest stuff. He was always looking out for his customers, making sure they bought the tools that would make them money. That's a well stocked truck and a great sales guy.

I was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for 45 years, 1977-2022 and purchased only Snap On the whole time, owning almost everything they made, my wife used to ask me "when will you have everything Snap On makes ? " I said never, they keep coming out with must have's every month ! Going on the truck was the highlight of my week !

@@jayinla81I am selling a 50 year snap on lifer’s set now for my mother in law.
After research - Selling by set and pieces. You cannot sell it as just one lot. Every person has their own needs and if they can afford to buy an entire person’s haul they want to build their own set.
What has surprised me is how easy the snap on stuff sells. The mactools/matco/icon etc tools sit with way less interest.
It takes allot of time - I spend an hour or two every night - research item price and set and note series/sku etc. clean and take photos. Write the listing and post online. 30 items will sell an average of one item a day.
Can generally get half or bit more for non specialized tools. The metric will go for more as there is more demand for it.
Sometimes you get a local guy - like this video and their upgrading from their craftsman or something and they have money and know what they want - they buy half of what I have listed.
I have gone down a bit of a rabbit hole on this and I think there is a growing qty of used snap on as there is just a very high amount of older skilled trades people retiring right now.

People can talk all they want to but quality tools really help. I'm dealing with cheap tools right now and swapping out for snapon. Snapon wrenches and sockets

Really hoping to get into my local union and start apprenticeship this spring. Ive done industrial machining working with komatsu and cat guys and I loved it, just not willing to do it for the shit pay. Came across Tekamo a couple months ago and im quite glad i did 👍

What do you mean no leaf blowers? I got my snap on leafblower like 4 months ago? Use it all the time to blow out the shop floor and equipment in the field. Just wish i got a bit more battery life before it overheats them, and it starts flashing. After about 20/30mins it's cool enough to keep going.
