- How to paint a Carcharodons Terminator for Warhammer 40,000 by Games Workshop! The Carcharodons (also known as the Carcharodon Astra or Space Sharks) are a lesser known Space Marine Chapter but have a cult fan base who just love 'em! And we can see why! We were hooked too! In this tutorial, we show you how to paint your new 10th Edition Warhammer 40K Terminators in the Carcharodons colour scheme from start to finish and we throw in a few Jaws puns along the way. You know, for the Carcharodons, it might be an interesting option to base them with pieces of coral or similar.
Using the chain bayonet as a chain fist conversion is a truly inspired choice.

That's a good idea for the chainfist using a chain bayonet of the MK VI Tactical kit for the Carcharodon chapter. Many useful bits to use from Horus Heresy models in 40k.

I am so mad - I didn’t buy Tyberos when he was available, and when I decided to create a Space Shark army I went to FW and he was gone. I emailed GW and yep, he’s gone. No longer available; however, the response was coy enough to make me think that The Red Wake may be getting an updated resin model soon, so hopefully he is.
And yes, the opening for this video was the greatest opening for any UA-cam video of all time. OF ALL TIME.

A tip for the 'Corax White' is to put two mixing balls and a good bit of airbrush thinner in it (you'll have to adjust over time but start with a good squirt). It's notorious for gunking up, even worse than the ceramite white..!

Try Proacryl white (and cream/yellow) I wouldn't go back after using them for a bit.

Any other lore nerds here that remember the carcharadon astra books? I thought the terminations had some kind of red armor. "The Red Tide". It's been a while since i read them and can't remember anymore.
Maybe...but all the current reference images we could find they were grey.
Possibly they are red in the way that Heresy era World Eaters were - they were painted different colour with thick layer of blood over original coating

I noticed that you appear to use multiple different pallets. One looks like a porcelain tile, one looks seems to have a lip around it. What do you use, and when do you switch?
I use both a wet palette and a dry palette (tile). The wet palette is perfect for general acrylic colours whilst I like to use the dry palette for washes and metallics.
Is there a Space Marine chapter for every animal? Like Space Armadillos?
I bet there is!
Should have gotten rid of the shoulder and chest insignia on the armor as the space sharks are pretty well known for not having that on any of their Marines
How many sets of brushes do you paint with, like 2 or 3 of #1 and 0s and clean thorough each time or 1 brush for each colour?
Just one of each brush. As long as you take good care of them and keep them clean, they'll last for a long time :-)

no no no, I prefer to paint everything with MY OWN colors, Carchorodons for example look good in red in my opinion, EVERYONE should paint their colors as they like, FREEDOM!

Sadly Forgeworld axed Tyberos so time for sculpting.
His old model looks very out of place next to the new terminator sculpts. He's tiny! I hope that Forge World or GW proper bring him back one day, upgraded and resized to fit in with the updated range. And an awesome scenic base of the carnage he leaves in his wake wouldn't hurt either. Actually, those are great conversion ideas...

I’m kinda surprised Carcharadon Grey is the highlight colour instead of a base colour. Fun video, fantastic results. Loved the tip about contrast with the base and also loved the add of the chain blade (digs into my HH box).

Looks great, and hilarious callbacks. Definitely one of your best videos! I painted my sharks with a lighter base grey, as I feel some people go too dark, but I think yours is a nice middle ground.

I didn't know you could get transfers with their tribals, so my Deathwatch Charcaradon model is full of hand painted tribals 😅

Space Maori with a love for ripping and tearing so great that Khorne is wondering why they're not with him! Accompanied by a cinematic masterpiece of an intro!
I love me some Space Sharks. Of all the chapters Forge World featured in their old Imperial Armour books, these are some of my favourites. (Together with the Minotaurs, for quite similar reasons actually.) They are the ultimate proof that sometimes simple really just is the best. The scheme couldn't be simpler. It's all gray! But it just works so darn well. Even more so with the tribal motives. Makes for something very unique.
Also Duncan, where do you get your Artis Opus brushes? They look like they're really nice brushes and I've been having trouble sourcing my usual Raphael brushes.

I wish we got some official Carcharodons figures and decals. More Badab representation.
The color description varies a lot. From the main marines having light grey to the terminators having off white. Wish they’d nail it down.
I’m surprised you didn’t just use your own Carcharodon grey color as the base though 😂
Now we just need an updated tyberos model and then we will finally sail the through the void.
great tutorial as always and has caused me to paint exactly one Carcradon as they are my favourite chapter even if i dont like painting grey personaly.
Beautiful painted model. I would never be able to use a grey paint scheme though - just because I know the unpainted models are grey, and my brain sees this paint scheme as unpainted. Silly, I know.
Why do I feel like GW is crying after seeing this video because they want to do the same, but they’re not allowed to use aftermarket products. All those markings have to be hand-painted.

Great work but for a CA is to clean a neat, I prefer a consumed, dirt, and distressed armor version, because it is their very essence( hope to not offend ).
I got the horus heresy box and have hardly touched it. Definitely adding those bayonets to my leviathan terminators
could you speak more slowly? sometimes it's hard to translate and understand what you're saying.
Instead of washing the entire model and repainting just use and enamel wash and mineral spirits and a sponge
