  • I've been seeing DIY chandelier and light fixtures all over Pinterest so I finally decided to dive and (hopefully) make a tad bit more simplified version of what I have seen out there. I love how this came out and cannot wait to create different versions. What DIY chandelier/light fixtures would you guys like to see me try? If you aren't feeling the whole boho fringe chandelier, what other DIY's do you want to see me do? You can do this chandelier in any color, more layers, less layers, different metallics, lights or no lights. The possibilities (just like all my other DIY's) are endless. Also ...did you know? I sell my DIY's that are collecting dust since I hate wasting! I post them randomly when I have some that I'm not using or aren't a part of the subscriber DIY series. etsy.me/2hmtOao Happy hump day and stay rad 🤘 Love you guys xx.

    What stuff are you going to need?
    ⟼ 8 in, 10 in, 14 in embrodery hoop - again feel free to branch out (bigger or smaller) you want it to fit your space specifically! Also do not forget to spray paint the hoops the color of your fringe so the whole chandelier blends together better
    ⟼ Rope, yarn, sturdy string - whatever you choose make sure it's the color of your fringe for (once again) make sure the whole thing blends together
    ⟼ Fringe - this is what I used bit.ly/2jXoTut
    ⟼ Measuring tape
    ⟼ Sharpie
    ⟼ Hot glue
    ⟼ Scissors
    ⟼ Trim - I got mine from JoAnn's Craft Store

    Well what do ya know? Yet again a great one! I'm always hyped on anything you're making, creating, upcycling etc. I'll definitely have to check out your little shop and see what's happening over there! Mad props this one seems harder than you make it look!

    Love this!!! I’ve wanted one of these light shades, but they’re around £80 to buy in homeware shops. So I’m very grateful for this video, so I can make my own 💗☺️

    This looks FABULOUS! I rarely comment on videos but this really is SUPER! Thanks for sharing ... It's certainly given me some terrific ideas for creating chandeliers for my own house. Unfortunately I have lights that are inset into the ceiling, and as I rent, I can't alter the light fittings, but it won't stop me from putting up a faux chandi ... I'd always wondered how to make a chandi, but using the hoops & tying them together overcomes my problem! I can imagine crystals & buttons for one in my sewing room! lol I LOVE buttons and have quite a collection, so being able to use them along with my buttons .... will be fun! & who knows, I might be able to come up with a few more ideas now. I have problems with my hands now, so can't do all the needlework, ribbons, lace, etc. that I used to use ... so I thought I'd have to part with them ... BUT ... I can even see me using lace & ribbons on the chandelier as well! Oh my mind is going 50 to the dozen now!! Thanks ... :)

    Thank you for this wonderful tutorial, I'm definitely going to try this. The chandelier looks so beautiful ❤ I want it to work as a lampshade, so how do you attach it around the lamp? Do you just tie it to the cord or?

      Living to DIY with Rachel Metz: r u kidding me? yours is the best and easiest video so far on d subject. this definitely is useful. I'll make mine longer though...
      I just finished my tufted headboard using the simplest method too.
      well done.

    • @LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz
      @LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz  6 років тому

      Depends on your space! I literally stapled a lamp cord into the wall then to the place in the ceiling that I wanted it. I added some rope and stapled that! It was aggressive. I would suggest searching another way here on UA-cam!

    • @LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz
      @LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz  7 років тому

      It depends on how big your hoops are that you're attaching it to! It varies for everyone but I linked the exact fringe I used in the description. They have different size options on there.
