Great comment by Glen Black and I appreciate him highlighting Tamu Murata. I’m enamored with all of these musicians, so I became hesitant to speak of one particular member. However, since Glen opened the door for me I must join the chorus. Muratatam (Tamu) is a fabulous drummer coming from the world of epic drummers (Japan). I love her soft side, hard side, and Jazz side. IMO, she was such as huge score for Nemophila to land it is almost beyond words for a new band (at the formation). Of course I adore all the members of Nemophila. Their talent is unquestionably world class. I follow all the bands Tamu works with. Quite simply, if I find a video of a new band for me and Tamu is drumming (often session musician), that is an immediate click. Fabulous band with a drum Goddess. Of course I may be slightly biased.
This is the 3rd song I'm aware of from them with a "Middle Eastern" vibe. AMA-TE-RAS (which you know) and " NEMOPHILA / 徒花 - ADABANA - [Official Music Video] " ua-cam.com/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/v-deo.html, being the other two. I'm not even sure I would classify ADABANA as "Middle Eastern", it might be the outfits they are wearing. I have no idea how to classify the song. Another unique one from them. Part is Slow Metal, the rest is just cool! If you watch it, and you should, pay particular attention to the "boots" that Tamu is rocking while she's beating the crap out of her drums with double kicks. 3" platform boots with 5" wide and thick heels....lol The outfits they wear in this one are the coolest of all their outfits, very coordinated and really cool colors. Part of their "charter" when they started the band was specifically to rock and promote cool clothing, as you might have noticed. Sometimes you think they are just wearing any old thing they come up with, but it is all very well thought out, like their music. Song title is another "flower" reference, like the name of their band, but with deeper meaning. I think the second definition is the one they are using. "Adabana (アダバナ) refers to any flower which doesn't bear fruit or a metaphor for something that is meaningless or fails to meet its fullest potential."
