Gather is a simple command line application I developed by wrapping Kirk Byers amazing Netmiko with a command line interface, concurrency, and output formatting. With Gather you can build detailed configuration and state databases (GatherDB's) for your entire multi vendor, multi technology infrastructure.
I use Gather and GatherDB's combined with simple unix / powershell command line utilities everyday to search, build reports, create custom configurations, build large scale maps, troubleshoot, proactively find faults, and much more. For many years I was uncomfortable relying on static documentation to maintain a large complex multi vendor, multi technology environment. Now I use Gather to build detailed configuration and state databases that store everything an operator needs to know about every device in every location (nearly) all at once.
