I think the actress Elain Powell is perfect for this role.. she has that ethereal/unreal beauty that just makes you just stare at her. Especially when they emphasize how blue her eyes are in the show.

She is gorgeous in a very other-wordly way. I say that as a compliment. Having watched the first 2 episodes, I don't think i would want any other cast as Ryn. Eline's reactions as Ryn are exactly what you expect from an animal who finds itself in a foreign environment.
I love that they chose to portray the Mermaids. Predators in every sense of the word. They have sharks for dinner. How much more badass can they get? I also liked how their instincts take over in water. The rest of the cast is great too. Very promising start.
After the first episode, I was already obsessed. Now at episode 4, it just keeps getting better and better!

Kenneth Monfil I watched the first two episodes on the day of the release on the freeform app(Thursday) but I couldn't watch the newer episodes on the app because I don't have cable to connect to the app (which was required to watch more episodes) so i had to wait until Friday for the new episodes to be put on hulu. I hope that made since lol

love love love Siren. Just watched the first episode. I hope it get's a big fan base as it's unique and familiar at the same time, the ecological tone is something I hope the show runners pursue more in future episodes. There is one scene that reminded of The Cove Documentary.

She has CGA on the series. There's a lot of special effects, makeup as well. The way she looks feels odd to you mainly because she wears eye lenses that reduce the area of the pupils.
@@AnaS-hr9ok Nah her movement in acting is the real odd part and her facial structure, the eyes help but its not the core of it.

I am absolutely in love with this movie, and I especially love the aspect of bringing in the more mature actors that are around my age from 50's and 60's range; I can't stop watching it. Thank you and stay safe everyone.

Yeah it's cool to see non traditional casting creep it's way into TV film. I know that Broadway's been doing it since the late 1960's, but it's become a more recent thing in mainstream culture

Also, "Maddy" is awesome--she and Ryn are the reason I watched SIREN. Maddy's heart is amazing but she's also believable as a character. I don't normally like the half-shaved hair look on women either, but this actress can really pull off the hairstyle they gave her! It enhances her beauty. :)

Freeform has several good shows, but Siren is the best one. A unique show that will captivate you. It makes you fall in love with mermaids

They could not have picked a better actress for Ryn was outstanding and the show captivated me from the beginning. All of the cast suited their parts and were outstanding. Wow to me and hopefully others I watched the whole series over 2 days after my sister telling me about it and was devastated when it finished, I just wanted more and more..........I just can not wait for the next series. Warren Darko I saw "episodes 1-4" on Friday which I as well as u... fell in "LOVE" with the "show" which I hope that it gets renewed 4 a "2nd season" bcause I didn't see anything wrong in those "episodes" that I saw.
They all seem so passionate about the show, and that they enjoy making. That's one of the most important things for it to work. Thoroughly enjoyed both seasons, sad that I have to wait until 2020 for season 3. Wish you the best, and thanks for the great show.

Can't believe I have just finished Siren, and then I ask myself, where was I when this series was premiering? Have got to say it's been so interesting and exciting watching siren in a raw, great work to all the casts. Also it's so addictive in that I feel like going back to square one.

Interesting to see this early production interview now. Eline is a natural for this role. Been obsessed with mermaid/aquatic ape hypothesis for ages. This series and its concept is so engaging in all of it.
Wow majority of them are British! On the show they totally don’t sound like their natural accent.
I know right especially the old woman who was telling the other boy that his ancestor slaughtered the mermaids. She sounds so American in the show but when the actress spoke I thought wow you can't hear your British accent.

Eline is Belgian, Fola and Alex are English. Rena is from New Zealand. The rest sound American or Canadian. So only 2 are British lol

Ryn is a killer actress--I absolutely loved her portrayal! The alien expressions, movements, breathing...she put SO much into this and it shows! Wish Donna had been a stronger actress and mirrored Ryn's accent, etc. so they seemed more in sync in their mermaid portrayal, but it's good experience and I hope the actress keeps going! She was so gorgeous, too! I was so excited to have a black mermaid finally depicted--the multiracial casting was really fun and a great step forward in the industry toward actually giving roles to people of color that AREN'T stereotyped! :D

Eline is so lovely. I think she is from Belgium. Great people the Belgians. I remember a musician from Belgium too I like very much called Gotye, singing together with beautiful singer Kindra a song in 2011 titled Somebody I used to know. Hugs from Spain.

Sibongile Mlambo who plays Donna is so beautiful. I hope to see more of what she can do as an actress. I absolutely love this show. I love that the show didn't go the typical way bc I know for sure that it would've not done well. I like that they showed both genders as mermaids bc a lot of people wonder are there such things as mermen lol and that they consider themselves as family even though they are different nationalities but they don't see it as being that way. A+++

My mother nunila has a mermaid beautiful ceramic, which my brother Robert had bought for my mom birthday. It's been over 8 years ago and she still has it. Thanks for your best movie about the mermaids, it's moves me to come to the point where it is coming from.
