As a newcomer to FIFA, I have to confess that I'm facing MASSIVE skill issues. I've been putting in effort over the past few months, watching multiple guides and trying to cover as much ground as possible by studying tactics, formations, and different playstyles. I have learned anything I could about keeping defensive line intact, being patient while attacking, and so on. My main issue concerns the pressing. I am nowhere near the first division, yet the opponents press me relentlessly, leaving me with barely 0.5 seconds to react at times, which is extremely frustrating. I would argue and also support your statement that this game isn't solely about custom tactics and skilled players. A perfect example being myself where I do have a wonderful team but lack the general knowledge of the game, which will inevitably become apparent over time. I often find that my passes are being cut short or intercepted, and although my defending is sometimes decent, I struggle to create chances or to develop an effective attack.
Therefore, I have a few questions to ask, and I'm open to any kind of advice:
1. Should I stick with Advanced Defending or switch to Tactical Defending until I become more confident and gain more experience with the basics?
2. How can I improve receiving the ball? Should I press or hold R1/L1 or R2/L2? (I've noticed other players receive the ball with precision, whereas my passes feel slow and are easily intercepted).
3. Should I get used to timed finishing? (I gave it a try, but I felt uncertain about certain connections in the games, so I turned it off. I often found myself already under too much pressure, leaving me with less time to time it properly).
For anyone who had the time and patience to read through my entire message, I want to express a huge thank you. You're a legend.
I came back from behind alot this wkn. Sometime 4 down to win 5 up. Just by not losing my mind. Just play the game to the end. I don't quit anymore. I use it as learning how to play FC. I have so much fun by not worrying to win the game. 4-0, I'm still Play like nil all. Who give a F. It just a game

@@aaronthomas5028 literally just played someone doing the cut back tap ins so I just kept pausing it everytime I could and leaving it,then keeping the ball between my keeper and defenders. If they're going to be boring then so will I 🤣👍🏾
Haha someone jus done it too me got to 2 nil n went to rage quit but thought nar they're actually shit went to 3,3 then I scored n own goal then 44 then I scored winner on 89 min n they quit hahahaa I messaged gg n they called me toxic hahaha
So are you saying you start with a 424 but then switch to 4231, if so can you tell me how you do this, I’m still learning this game, cheers
go to custom tactics then press L2. You can select any tactics like defensive..attacking...ultra defensive...ultra attacking. Choice of yours, shouldn't matter though. Then select formation you like, press triangle to change players position. Save it. In the game, if you wanna switch to formation you like use the d pad to select tactics you desired. for example in the custom tactics if you selected attacking then use d pad to switch to attacking.
That’s a way to maintain full chem of your team when playing players out of position as well

lucky you. it s more fun there than in higher. im div6 soon in div 5 and mostly do not enjoy it. btw by time weaker opponent pop up and once you get a winning streak you proceed fast.
I was stuck in 6 for a while just got into division 5 last night but almost every team has those red fut cards 😭 record is like 5-5 so far
I am in div 1 and I can confirm everyone in div 1 is sweaty and every game is like finals it's way fun down there

First goal cut back. Sweaty shit like this ruins the game. I bet you also do the run and flick move straight to goal after kick off from conceeding. Win at all costs no matter how far away from good enjoyable football it may be..

How often would say you use driven passes compared to normal passes? I feel like I use driven passes about 95% of the time but a lot of those passes get misplaced.

Those r1 dribble cut back tap in goals are making FUT soooooo boring now, literally as soon as you see a team full of icons and totw players you know thats exactly how they will play and unless you're team is full of those players too they will win. Its annoying losing to players because theyve spent a shit ton of money on packs and not because theyre actually any good,i say to you people come see on on seasons with 3 star teams and see how good you actually are 👍🏾
