Magic Story: I was once playing a commander game, where there was only two players left, Person A and I. Although he had a low life total he was playing scarab god and had made a large zombie army that were surely kill me off in about two turns. To make matters worse he had Glen Elendra Archmage out ready to counter my next two non-creature spells. My only saving grace was that I had amassed a lot of mana and he had exactly as much life as the amount of cards in his hand. Therefore, in a crazy play of magic I cast two 7 CMC spells to bait his two Archmage counters to play a 4 CMC spell that dealt damage to him equal to his cards and won the game, paying a total of 18 mana to do it. It is a moment that is exemplary of how crazy commander game can get. Hope you enjoyed that one!

Magic Story: After my house burned down I lost my 10 year long collection of yugioh cards. I ended up bringing the molten slag of binder plastic covered cards to my lgs to see if the judges thought any cards may be recoverable. Ended up having to throw everything out and was just sitting upstairs in the lounge area. Apparently, there was a pre-release the weekend before and some guy came in the store not realizing he missed it. Anyways, he ended up buying a box since they had no prerelease kits and I ended up helping him open some of the packs in the box. When we got done opening the packs he told me I could have all the cards in the box that he didn't want. I don't know who that stranger was but after loosing the only connection to the community I'd been apart of for 10 years, the amount of happiness and appreciation that I felt for his generosity literally helped me keep it together. I ended up going to a different lgs with an active magic community and really liked the community. Now I play commander with my Yissan, Feather, Kadena, and Anje decks, standard with my mill deck and modern with my boggles deck. The friendliness and generosity in this community is outstanding and I am astounded by it considering everything the people in the yugioh community told me about the game. I am so thankful for the positivity of this community and part Bad Boy Gaming and the other magic content creators plays in it. If it wasn't for this community I probably wouldn't have held myself together long enough to write this message. Thank you

Favorite Magic Story: My friend turned me onto magic back when he bought me the dragon commander precon. Since then its been my favorite hobby. Him and I are best buds
My (Long) Magic Story: I started learning mtg in 7th grade (innistrad block) when a 9th grader went up to the "Comic Book Club" organizer and 9th grade english teacher (i just happened to be in the library at the same time) and asked him if he knew any local game stores that sold magic. This somehow lead to this student teaching the teacher and I how to play magic every day during our shared lunch hour. Fast forward, this teacher and I learned to play magic and were totally hooked. I was appointed the co-organizer of the club and we incorporated magic into the club and had many magic players. Fast forward again. We got support from our LGS. They open early once a month just for our club. We get donations from parents so we can give out a few packs worth of cards to every club member (40+ club members) AND custom created starter decks to new players every year. Fast forward AGAIN. I graduated a 3 years ago, still best friends with the club organizer, still keeping the club running as his co-organizer. We turned the club into a strictly "Magic the gathering Club". We have many powerful commander and standard players to help teach beginners. I have 10 commander decks and I'm working on an 11th. VERY DAMN proud of what we did for our local magic community.
The craziest story that I can remember was me and a group of friends driving down to Georgia to go play in a big tournament down there.
There were enough of us, that we had to take 2 cars down, so we took mine and one other. We went down, stayed overnight, scrubbed out, but the fun happened on the way back. My car broke down and we couldn't get it going again. So, 7 of us, piled up in a little honda civic, and rode back from Georgia. 3 guys in the back seat, with one laying across their laps, then me in front with a teenager sitting in the floorboard in front of me, and then the driver.
I will never forget that trip. Ever.

My favorite magic story was when my friend was getting me into magic and I got a pack at my local game store and he told me that packs weren't worth it. I got a force of negation, with a foil wrenn and six. His face was pricess
My Magic Story: I once opened an entire booster box along with two pre-release kits and didn't pull a single mythic, while my buddy got 4 in one pre-release kit.
I grew up involved in Boy Scouts, ad I can remember learning to play my first year with all of the other new scouts. Absolute blast it was. Every summer camp, we would have tournaments, and it was always fun to watch the older scouts duke it out with their super cool cards and just enjoy hanging with each other until suddenly you are the older scouts. The younger kids would all gather around and cheer you on and it was an absolute blast learning the game and making best friends because of it. We spent hours huddled around in tents with headlamps and flashlights trying to keep quiet so we wouldn't wake anyone else up but staying up super late because we loved to play.

Love your channel. So here my little story of how I got into playing magic. So this story takes us all the way back to lorwyn which is still one of my all time favorite sets. Its also the set I started playing in. I hand gone over to visit a good friend and him and his brother were playing magic which I knew nothing about at that time. I was heavy into yu-gi-oh at the time yeah I know lol. After watching them play for awhile they asked me to play also n I was instantly hooked. After leaving his house I went to walmart and bought two starter decks from lorwyn the mono white kitchen and mono blue merfolk decks and magic became my #1 favorite tcg of all time and that's how i got into magic. My Magic story. I stopped playing in 2000 after moving in with my missus. She lived a fair way away from me and there was no one in her area who played the game so I stopped. About a year ago my daughter, who was born in 2003 asked if I had ever heard of a game called Magic as she was interested in playing it. My missus and I looked at each other and laughed so hard. We now both play EDH and have found a whole host of people who also play. Its great to play with my daughter too as she is a clever girl and a good player and its nice for a Father and daughter to bond over a game.
One of the times I got back into Magic, back in 2008 I had built a mono green stompy deck built around Cream of the Crop, Primalcrux, and Drove of Elves and I was playing against my friend’s White/Green Helix Pinnacle. His deck was built around life gain and damage prevention while slowly building up the Helix Pinnacle. And stompy is well, stompy. The game keeps going and going, it’s getting to the point where every turn I’m attacking with a massive army, but thanks to Story Circle I’m only able to hit him with my three or four smallest creatures each turn and that was still good for about 20 damage per turn. Eventually, I was able to get him to tap out on my turn and I was able to use Hurricane to end things after about 90 minutes.
on the ancillary packs: the first 2 cards will always be the egg, the second slot will either be Battra or Mechagodzilla, and the third slot will be one of the 3 cards in foil. You just hit bad luck on the foil eggs. I got 2 of them one was 3 eggs and a Battra and the other was 2 eggs Battra and foil Mechagodzilla

I played magic with my cousin back in the late 90’s. All the cards were his and I really didn’t know how to play. I’m pretty sure he just liked beating me up at something, however I liked the game. Between life and college, then life some more I just never actually bought any product or played. Over a year ago I walked into my LGS and cracked 10 packs of War of the Spark and pulled a Bolas and 2 Gods. The guy behind the counter was jealous and I was hooked to cracking packs even though I still didn’t know how to play. Your channel taught me how to play. No kidding. You breaking down the decks and then playing them on arena taught me how to play magic. I haven’t missed a single video since I started watching. Thank you and keep making goody content that is all you.
According to reddit, the ancillary always has two cocoon's at the front. Then you get for the third either of the other two cards (Dirge bat Japanese was the one you didn't see). You got unlucky and got both the same.
Then the last slot is a random foil of all three though again the cocoon has higher odds of being pulled. Makes sense since it's based off an uncommon.
I got two of these packs as well, I was incredibly lucky, first one had battra and a foil mecha, but the second was exactly what he pulled in the video
If you bought a Collectors Booster Box from them, they probably went back through their orders and sent you the pack that way. These cards were originally supposed to be in the collectors packs, but there was some kind of production error and they were excluded, so Wizards sent these out to retailers to distribute to their customers.
Magic memory, started during revised =) my computer teacher played and was able to have an afternoon class for magic the gathering with other friends. I also got an artist proof chains of mephstopheles from him!! So many good magic memories over the year and I still play with a lot of my friends from high school!
My best memory of MtG was my first prerelease. Rivals of Ixalan, I remember so distinctly hyping myself up and building hypothetical decks in my head, and "training" like going over potential deck picks and my deck went 0-7 still fun nevertheless.
Here my magic story: once upon a time many years ago, I learned how to play magic. Then Teferi, Time Raveler was printed and I cried.
My Magic Story: I started playing Magic over 25 years ago around Revised. My friends were playing one night and started throwing cards at each other like Gambit. No sleeves, no care for card value. I can't imagine how much $$$ we destroyed. Times were different back then.
I got into magic when I was little- one of my grandmothers friends sons also played and sent me a binder of random cards. I wish I still had it, but I started collecting cards ever since and love playing casually. It’s one of the most exciting things to build up a nice combination with cards that do cool things, even if it isn’t a quick win- the long games with a multitude of moving pieces are the best. Those Ikoria Collectors Japanese packs are hard to get. I got one from my LGS after purchasing the Ikoria Collectors Booster Box within the first week of launch and opted for curbside pickup. No, the packs are not the same, your pulls were not the best thou. Each pack include 2 non-foil Mysterious Eggs (Mothras Coccon), 1 Mechagodzilla and a random Japanese foil. I got Battra as Japanese foil, really sweet. Anyhow, if you are into collecting, all those pulls are really worth saving on a binder. Nice video!
My Magic Story: I started playing MTG 17 years ago. Oh boy... I really miss those days. 2003, the year after the 2002 revision of the reserve list and Black Lotus was just worth a few hundred bucks. My first deck was a full swampy Darksteel "Mind Swarm" theme deck which I still remember. I also had some other decks from Champions of Kamigawa set, Mirrodin and Fifth Dawn. The best memory I have from those times was everybody like crazy trying to get a hold on many of the cards from the reserve list before they started going up in prices like crazy. Playing with a Black Lotus was just as normal as cracking open a draft booster pack. The good ol' days.
My first and favorite mtg memory was when my brother brought 2 of his friends over for a commander battle but they needed a fourth player so I was invited. Good times...
So I started playing magic in Dec 2019, my older brother had been playing and collecting for the past 8 years, but I was not interested in playing at all, but I joined him at the local game store for a game night a few times and was curious, so I asked him a bit about the game and for Christmas he made me a cheap deck with Rubinia Soulsinger as my commander, in the past 7 months I have upgraded my deck a little bit, have Chulane as my commander now and have played lots of games with our play group. My younger brother who's 15 got into playing a little while before me and we have game nights with him sometimes. Magic has helped me stay close with my family and gives me something to do as well. I am so happy I got into playing.
One day many ages ago I was reorganizing my collection on the carpet of my room when I had to leave to run some errands. We had just gotten a dog, and it was kept downstairs in the living room with a gate keeping it from the upper floor. I come home to see the dog nowhere in sight, and go upstairs to find she had somehow gotten through the gate and got into my room. To my horror I entered to see a fresh defecation on my new Chandra and a piss stain underneath half of my red creatures. They were soaked. Not a favorite memory at the time, but now I look back on it as one of the funniest things my magic cards have ever been a part of.
My friends and I organized a 9 person commander planeschase game back in 2015. We had invited one friend who would be playing for his first time ever. After a 7 hour game with 8 other decks including a chaos deck, the game ended. Since that night I have not seen or heard from that guy. Poor dude
Magic story: playing with my cousins in 2 headed dragon game and my oldest cousin used a Chaos Orb. Flipped it in the air and hit his own creatures. Magic was different then.
Magic Story: I am playing MtG for about 7 years now. I remember my first games were with close friends of mine who owned some Decks. They too were total beginners and we all had no idea how exactely the game works. So in our first games we did not remove damage from creatures at all. It was a mess remembering how much damage every creature has gotten so far but somehow we did and somehow the game worked well.

BAD Magic story. First got in to magic when I was 13 and built my first deck after mowing lawns all summer to earn money to buy packs. At the time there was a big push to by the media and churches saying magic was satanic and the devils game due to artwork on the cards. My mom took my 200 dollars worth of cards and burned them while reading the Bible and praying. Good times.
My simple mtg story: I wanted to play when I went to college during 2013 but I'm broke. Completely forgot about it for years then I saw Arena for the pc. Played, and enjoyed it. Now I'm trying to build my first ever paper deck for edh! Yuriko will be my first ever commander.
I first got into magic when a buddy bought a huge lot of cards from ebay. Probably 2000-2500 cards. A group of us would just make all kinds of decks from the pile of cards that were splayed all over his pool table. I remember he had cards like Savannah, Tundra, and Taiga. I wonder sometimes if he still has those, because they are worth some big bucks now a days.
I had gotten out of magic for a while, I deployed to Iraq back in 2008-2009 after I got home, I drank way to much and did some things I wasn't proud of, I finally got back into magic, honestly I think getting back into it was one of the things that saved my life
Magic story: sat down, day one, illustration class in college. Teacher was introducing himself, talking about what he does and he said he worked for wotc doing illustrations for mtg. I immediately raised my hand and said "anything I'd know?" And he says "maybe, I painted lord of the pit and leviathan.." I freaked out, Noone else cared. It was Mark Tedin. My magic story happened not too long ago. Playing commander with some friends with a Kinnan deck I built. Used Kinnan’s ability and brought out a Void Winnower and chose even. Then a couple turns later, I played a spark double and copied the Void Winnower and chose odds. Poor dudes couldn’t do a thing
My magic story: I recently got back into playing along with my best friend who lives 2 and a half hours from me. Both of our 1st major buys were a couple booster boxes from ikoria. Since we live so far away & i didn't have a car we would trade cards through the mail. 2 weekends ago my sister sold me her car, so last weekend i went to my friends and we split the cost on 3 core 21 boxes. We cracked packs & tried out the jumpstart packs they gave us. It was a great time & true magic moment i'll always remember
My magic memory is when I first ever played. I went to my friends house and we played with his dad's old cards. Some of the cards I remember having fun with (from Mirage, Visions and legends) are viashivan dragon, abomination, shimian nightstalker, concordant crossroads and worldly tutor.
My magic story: I started playing magic: the gathering about 2 years when I saw my friends playing it one day. I started with a black/white deck and played it for a while. Then I sold it so I could buy the goblin and merfolk. Now I'm currently working on a Tajic, legion's edge commander deck.

Those packs were sent to everyone that purchased a collector booster from ikoria. They didn’t add 3 Godzilla cards to American versions so you must of purchase a collector from eBay or something
I got into magic a few months ago my friend bought some decks and i have played just like 5 matches with him and then the qaurantine struck. I could not play with him cuz his mum was a bit scared. Then i discovered that like 20 meters from my home was a small LGS (in my country there are only like 4 LGS) and now i play there every week.
If you bought Ikoria collectors boxes they are supplement for the three Japanese only cards that were left out of the set. and flipside does shipping for other companies so they might have been the ones who shipped product from another store where you bought them. I got three from my Store because I bought some collectors packs.
I once asked for Magic the Gathering for Christmas as a kid and my dad got me a magician set(not MTG). Fun times!
It's from an eBay or Amazon sale of a collectors box, they were just sent out, I had the same thing happen today, after a little digging it was the seller themselves form the Amazon prime purchase.

My favorite Magic Moment is when i found a Cryptic command Invocation in a booster packs with a friend... none of us knew about lottery cards at the time. He say to me: "i give you all you want for that card!" Ah... all that gliters... myyyyy precious!!
I first started playing Magic in late 95 early 96. The judge at my local store at the time picked me for a job years later where he was manager and we started a shop for Magic out of the storage room of the store we worked at.

I went to my LGS and got one because I pre-ordered a collector booster box of Ikoria, they were just a late arrival so maybe if you ordered a collector booster from them they sent you them.
I've played MTG on again and off again since 4th edition. The card store I used to shop at in HS had complete sets for sale. Alpha and beta sets were $1200, legends were around $600 and I ended up buying the only one I could afford for $80... homelands. Still kicking myself in the tail for that one. Skadoosh, my man. I also got a surprise Japanese ancillary pack yesterday after buying a collectors box off of TCG Player. I preordered the box and got it over a month ago. was honestly surprised to get it in the mail
The packs are not all the same. the 2 eggs in front are the same but the 3rd slot is the rare slot which can be Battra or Mechagodzilla. the last slot is the foil slot which can be any of the 3 cards in foil.
I'm late to the party with my comment but these Japanese packs were sent out to people because these specific cards were supposed to be in the collector's boosters but Wizards put out a statement in April that they would send these out to card shops who would then distribute these to people who had bought collector's boosters. I bought 2 through my shop and the next time I went in after picking up the booster boxes they had two of these waiting for me.
In my packs I got two of mothra's egg in each pack. One pack came with a non foil Mecha Godzilla and a foil Bat Rodan while my other pack came with the non foil Bat Rodan and a foil MechaGodzilla. I assumed they came with at least one each of the Japanese only cards when I opened mine as I didn't get the foil Mothra's egg.

My favorite memory: Last year me and my friends bought a booster of Iconic masters for each of us, I pulled a toughtseize, and they had an Elesh Norn, Avacyn and Mana drain. Best pack opening ever
Magic Story: I remember when I was first getting into magic with the EDH format and my first purchase was splitting a Gatecrash box with my friend and through that I was able to build my first ever commander deck Lazav, Dimir Mastermind and my friend was able to build his 2nd EDH deck Aurelia, the Warleader playing with the cards that we opened. Pure magic at its finest.
My story. I was at my friends house playing some fortnite season 2. Lol. And i noticed a box that said magic on it and i knew of the game. Thought it would be cool to play the game. But knew nothing about how. I asked him about it and he let me look at his cards. He let me play against him with some decks he had made. And then i went out and bought me a core set 2020 deck builders toolkit and a bundle. Later that week i bought me 6 booster packs from card kingdom. A week later a huge box arrives on my door with 6 BOXES of core set 2020. Gave a box to my friend who got me into magic. I opened a few. And saved a couple to hold onto. Been hooked ever since. Just started my journy on arena. Love it. But there's something about that cardboard!!!!
Magic Story: Beating my brother in edh for the first time. I remember when I first started playing around 10 years ago and I never could beat his damn khalia deck! One day i took all my favorite artifacts, slapped them in sharuum, and to quote you “SKADOOSH”. I ended up with one of my favorite decks to play today.
Magic story: started in 2000 and played a bit more than ten years. Moved away with my wife and slowly stopped playing because the area is so remote. But this month she started asking for lessons on playing and deck building and such! Love the channel!

I got two Japanese packs from Flipside as well, but they were shipped separately and arrived a day apart. Very weird, but I did order an Ikoria collector box from them back when they had them in stock before the price spike, so guessing that's how they had my info. Still was quite a surprise since that was back around the launch of the product - a welcome surprise though.
My favorite memory is from buying a starter deck of revised as a kid - since they didn't list the rarity, I was pumped pulling a Craw Wurm. I mean a 6 power???? Of course that led to many many more cards, and unfortunately thinking that the starter decks were the best deal for a while. Worst magic memory is selling all my dual lands for $20 a piece to buy the Star Wars card came booster boxes, whoops.
Favourite magic memory is buying random magic collections and using them for epic all night drafts with my buddies. Often cheaper than a booster box and waaay more fun.

Favorite magic experience would probably sitting and playing a mythic qualifier and comboing off my phoenix deck (back when it was good) and the opponent scooping.
My favorite magic memory is my oldest brother getting me started during the betrayers of kamigawa set. It was one of the last times all 3 of us got together to hang out.

Story time:
First time ever i had to call into work because my kids had no sitter. I recently taught my son how to play. It was last friday. Because i called we were able to go to M21 pre-release and we both had a blast, learned from our play mistakes AND took home a total of 4 packs of M21 and 2 promo packs. May sound like a lame story but i dont see my kids often and it was a wonderful bonding experience for him and i.
Here's a story for you, my friends house had burnt down and lost the majority of his collection he had to sell the remaining of them to buy Christmas presents the following year, I had honestly thought the the note was from my freind, it wasn't though, but still interesting to hear someone with the same story
They are not all the same. I got Battra non foil and Mechagodzilla Foil. They sent those packs out to anyone who bought Ikoria collector booster boxes as Wizards messed up and didn’t print those cards in English.
Story about MTG:
I helped my one friend build a Commander Eldrazi deck on Star City Games a couple years ago and it ended up being over $250. The next month after he got it, his mom told him and his brother to give all their MTG cards away or she would destroy them because she didn't like how they spent all of their time and money on them. They only had 24 hours so he and his brother gave thousands of cards away to one of their friends at school but never asked me if I wanted them. I was very disappointed because of all the time we spent playing MTG together.
I was playing a commander game with my own Inalla wizard brew. They were on 24 and I was on 3, I had Naban and Inalla out and top decked spark double. I cast it on naban triggering Inalla infinite times with Naban doubling then creating a non - legendary copy of Naban with Inalla. I paid all of my mana (23) into Inalla triggers so they all had haste. I won and the dude was so mad he tried to flip the table. I tinker more with y deck to withstand hand attack better yestreday. Thats my story.
My magic story is the same as many other people's I guess. Arena got me back into the game, and I used to get to work late just to get my dailies in
One of my favorite MTG stories is getting paired into a dredge mirror match in a vintage tournament. Game 3 We both slammed a leyline of the void and proceeded to play the most boring, most fair game of Magic you have ever seen. Hard cast boring creatures. 3 cost 3/3s and such. It was a great time. I came out on top.

I’ve seen others open those. Basically if you got a box topper and it was bent, WotC though that sending 2-3 of those packs was enough of an “I’m sorry.” Problem is they can only contain 3 different cards, and they aren’t that great. I’d be pissed and tell them to replace the bent card.
Mtg has helped get through some tuff times good and bad.
i was in college when i was introduced to magic. a buddy and i sat in the common room with a 12 pack and stayed up until like 3 or 4 running through his different decks. that was like 4 years ago and now i’m deep in lol
All three Japanese cards, even the foiled, do not go for very much sadly. Tho, I manged to buy 2 of the foiled mecha godzillas for $20 each, when they first appeared and turned around and sold them for $75 each, because they were fetching well over $100 out of nowhere, so, I ended up getting them in the mail to turn around and sent them off, and then as of the other week, came to buy another foiled one for myself at $18, its just crazy how much people are willing to pay for stuff, and now I feel bad because of how cheap they are.
What would you say is the best of the mutate decks you've built?
My Magic memory is from .. OH HELL no way it has been so long .. Its around 2009 Conflux was out and we and few friends went to watch one of the MTG qualification tournaments. As expected I already had solid booster opening addiction at age of 11 so I chose some Shards of Alara boosters. I have opened Prince of Thralls(.. I think) together with foil Elspeth in a single booster. At that time Planeswalkers were quite something. I just could not believe it ... Well the young and dumb me instantly went to the MTG store in the place and I sld her for 800 crowns = 40 dollars cca. Too bad I did not keep her and enjoy her more :)
So you know Mr. Moss. A couple of companies, sent those out as an additional thank you for your purchase of a Ikoria Collectors Booster Box. But they were given out at random to purchasers. And were said to come weeks later. I myself got a little note from TCGPlayer, in the packaging, explaining that I may or may not get one. I didn't get them. =/. You lucky duck. Lol. I'm Jealous.
I got into magic when Dominaria came out, I just wish that magic does the legendary in every pack Again😁
Same exact thing happened to me. Although I realized later on in the video I was making like you are here, that when I purchased my Ikoria collectors box from Amazon it actually came from the company that sent me the ancillary packs. I was being paranoid and went through my bank statements and such to see if they charged me. Because the statement said I was charged over $200 for it. I was so confused for a bit.

They arent actually all the same it's just that there is only 3 exclusive Japanese cards which are Mysterious Egg, Battra, and Mechagodzilla. I happened to get all 3 in my pack.

They are not all the same. Could get battra in foil or non, and mecha in foil also
My friend had told me about Magic but I never really checked it out until one day I was ordering Yugioh singles for my bro and had a few bucks left on my prepaid card. I randomly ordered a lot of 100 magic commons with the spare money and from the day they arrived I was hooked, never really cared to play Yugioh again hahahah
Got one of these around a month after I received a collector booster from an eBay seller.
