My friend goes to this college. This isnt COMPLETELY accurate. Housing isn't need based, it was a random lottery that took nothing into account. Not even financial situation or disability. And these students are paying the same price and not being housed like others
It makes no sense we built so many houses and apartments in this country in the past 14 years but there’s a housing crisis?
They need to build a high rise almost like Morgan hall at temple university
it’s because West Chester keeps accepting WAYY to many students and they don’t have any resources. it’s not even just housing, they’ve added so much to campus but it’s still just way too overcrowded.
Look at those big green empty spaces on campus. They can’t build housing?
this isn’t all correct. the housing was randomized without the regards of the students who need housing. they are endangering students by threatening their right to live under a roof because they don’t have “enough space”. they have plenty of room on campus for more dorm buildings and they chose not to and put the lives of their students in danger. students may be trying to move out of their abusive households and the school could be forcing the abuse victims back into their situation. my best friend goes to WCU and i feel absolutely horrible for her. she expressed how she can’t focus on her finals because of this situation. i can’t imagine how the rest of the students who need housing feel.
Similar protests are taking place in Ireland - see on RTE News.
I went to this university in the 90s and at the time the parking situation was atrocious. Since then they've added a lot of residence halls, therefore a lot of students, so if they are kicking people off campus how will they be expected to commute?
Also the last I heard the surrounding town imposed regulations on landlords forbidding them to rent to college students unless you buy special permission from the town. How it's legal to ban housing based on your status as a college student is a mystery to me, but I'm glad I left that joke of a state decades ago. Anyhow, it sounds like it will be difficult to find off campus housing too.
It's nice to see college students protesting something that actually affects them instead of grand social issues like a bunch of lemmings.
This is BS. Build another dorm. No one wants to move off campus. Westchester is sketchy as hell. Look what happens to UPenn & Temple students.
West Chester is NOTHING like north Philly off campus lol 😭
Simple solution you cannot accept more students than you can house. This is ridiculous.
Bye bye
Lack of housing ????? 20 yrs ago there were half the amounts of dorms 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Go to a different school since there's no room
Victoria Quinn can stay at my house, if you know what I'm sayin'.
Poor little ❄️s
It’s not right that they can’t get what they want.
In the real world, everyone gets what they desire.
They pay tuition fees. They should get what they want. Ok boomer?
@@TheSuperPsychoKiller Since when does tuition include housing ?
If you Gen Z-ers get any lazier, you’re gonna want someone to pre-chew your food for you before you put it in your mouth.
@@petergozinya6122 whatever boomer
You try paying thousands of dollars and getting into debt just to not be housed in your college when you’re paying to have a roof over your head :/
your not paying the fee they have to pay. some people are coming from overseas, thinking they have a place to live, then finding out they might go homeless. some may not have the financial ability to travel back and fourth. some people may be trying to get away from their abusive households.
