I just watched this movie, and it was way better than I expected. Butler and Baccarin were excellent in this, and in the midst of disaster you could really feel both the angst and the love between them, and for their son. A very exciting and nerve wracking race against time in order to survive. On a scale of 0 to 10 for disaster survival movies, I give this one a solid 8.5 mostly for the compelling human story in it, backed by a pretty messed up pending natural disaster.

One of the best apocalypse movies I've seen. Having grown up in Rochester, lived in Tampa Bay for 30 years and returned to NY to help parents made the movie more personal. Agree with many comments. Global warming, American politics, vaccine deniers. etc. are just a slightly slower Clark Comet coming for us. Good movie.
Another remarkable thing about this movie is that Gerard can fit in his scottish and american accent so smoothly that I sometimes rarely see the differnece

Just watched this.. it’s an amazing movie with a few parts you wouldn’t see coming. Only thing is there’s a scene that frustrates you and they never give you any relief from it but still worth the watch.

great movie! realistic disaster film. I've seen a lot of disaster films but Greenland is one of those few good disaster films that is realistic with a good story and actors.

Sadly seeing some of the comments, I realize how many people do not seem to understand how close we are to just such an event... nor how close we have already come recently.. Some of you should search for: 'week of 21 JUL 2012 CME/Flare event'. The reason? We nearly had an E.L.E. for real and the information was NOT disclosed publicly for two years AFTER it occurred. How do I know? Because I was the Team Leader for a bunkers defensive tactical combat team.. we went into full disaster mode and prep to seal up once all authorized personnel had arrived.. No joke.. look it up. We got lucky and what at the time was feared to be a head on strike, ended up being a glancing blow... and the public ended up having no idea it was happening. I say this because this movie took me right back to those few days in 2012.. and to say I was scared like nothing else, more scared than I had ever been even in combat, is an understatement.. My family, those I knew.. only my wife was inside the complex.. not even my adult children could I contact. People need to realize that we are small and fragile on this small blue marble.. and it can be taken in an instant without little to no warning. I learned a big lesson.. LIVE every day to the fullest. Don't take it for granted because you WILL regret it even in the last moments should it occur. We got luck that week... and the lesson I learned I shall never forget... This movie had a quite a bit that was spot on for realism.. And the fact it invoked an emotion in me is why I find this movie to be more than just a 'disaster' movie but one that should teach all a lesson on what reality could be at any time, any day, any moment.. Don't take another day for granted.

Just watched this.. it’s an amazing movie with a few parts you wouldn’t see coming. Only thing is there’s a scene that frustrates you and they never give you any relief from it but still worth the watch.

This movie was one of the best disaster movie that I've seen in a while. Ignore the critics they're a bunch of asshats. I would recommend anyone to watch it and get some snacks and just chill.
If you thought this movie was good you won't survive very much longer in this new world. This movie was completely unwatchable since the characters are the dumbest people every thought of for a disaster movie. I can't even see those characters would die in a toilet paper hoarding seen in the real world.

great movie! realistic disaster film. I've seen a lot of disaster films but Greenland is one of those few good disaster films that is realistic with a good story and actors.
Gerald Butler‘s movie roles make me feel proud to an American even though he was born in Scotland.

Sadly seeing some of the comments, I realize how many people do not seem to understand how close we are to just such an event... nor how close we have already come recently.. Some of you should search for: 'week of 21 JUL 2012 CME/Flare event'. The reason? We nearly had an E.L.E. for real and the information was NOT disclosed publicly for two years AFTER it occurred. How do I know? Because I was the Team Leader for a bunkers defensive tactical combat team.. we went into full disaster mode and prep to seal up once all authorized personnel had arrived.. No joke.. look it up. We got lucky and what at the time was feared to be a head on strike, ended up being a glancing blow... and the public ended up having no idea it was happening. I say this because this movie took me right back to those few days in 2012.. and to say I was scared like nothing else, more scared than I had ever been even in combat, is an understatement.. My family, those I knew.. only my wife was inside the complex.. not even my adult children could I contact.
People need to realize that we are small and fragile on this small blue marble.. and it can be taken in an instant without little to no warning. I learned a big lesson.. LIVE every day to the fullest. Don't take it for granted because you WILL regret it even in the last moments should it occur. We got luck that week... and the lesson I learned I shall never forget... This movie had a quite a bit that was spot on for realism.. And the fact it invoked an emotion in me is why I find this movie to be more than just a 'disaster' movie but one that should teach all a lesson on what reality could be at any time, any day, any moment.. Don't take another day for granted.
