I am using 88 Play 3rd Gen for almost 1 month plus now. 1 word i can describe it. It is SOLID. The best Play version by Yonex so far. Stringing it with Exbolt 65. Tension 25x27lbs. The hitting sound was so crispy. And the hitting feel was so good. From the cosmetic, paintjob are excellent. Accidently hitting the court ( cement court ) for late taking forehand lift,i thought it will scratch or chip or any mark on it. Suprisingly, the paint is still there like nothing happen. 88 Play is suits my gameplay. Mostly attacking from the back and doing the frontcourt job effortless. Planning to try the Game version after this. Honest review from an intermediate social player.
@@BORKARKIRAN it is slightly head heavy. Really suitable for double & single games. Hitting feel was solid. Easy to adapt. Not a paid review but this is based on my experienced using it.
Hello brother. I want to buy it I'm not too much attacking player. But I need power, Control, Balance Am I go for it ? How about victor auraspeed 9000?
I started playing badminton less than 1 year ago with the Astrox 99PRO (yep). I was struggling a lot with accuracy, power, and control not knowing that I wasn't supposed to play with PRO racket as a beginner, left alone 99PRO. Now I'm playing with Astrox 88S GAME and everything is so much better. I am way quicker on net plays and being able to hit the shuttle at sweet spot making my smashes stronger and sound much better too. Love the GAME series !
I have been using 88 Play 3rd gen for 3 months now, and string it with Exbolt 65 or 66 Ultimax. IMO this is the best yonex budget racket for 2024. This racket basically head heavy, but u can adjust it easily for all round or speed play style. It can deliver power and control (also stable performance) with the right string and tension base on your usual preference. For me this is the best yonex play series racket so far 😊
Can you please suggest. Is Astrox 88 play (3rd. Gen) better than Arcsaber 11 play. Which one will be better for an all-round gameplay. Both for doubles and singles and both Attack and Defence.
@@PuruGanda i have arc 11 play and pro..the pro has everything right for all-around player, but the play? It is a head heavy racket feels like a attacking racket and consume a lot of energy. I dont recommend arc11 play for all-around. If you want a balance racket better get arc7 play, feels more like a balance racket (but not quite powerful).
have you tried the 1000z play? the 1000z so far has been the best all rounder so I was thinking the player version of that would be too but I wouldn't be shocked if the 88 play 3rd gen can compete. thoughts?
very accurate review. I'm using 88d pro tour 24 and do feel its quite head heavier than the pro model, which fits my attacking play style. The other aspects like shaft stiffness, build quality, paint quality is prolly identical across these 2 models. Thanks for the review!
CK is right, there are too many options for just one generation of racket. I feel like the tour and game versions are a bit much. tour is almost always heavier than the pro for some reason and the game is basically just too expensive for less tech so you might as well save a bit more for the tour, imo. I like the idea of just having one play version to streamline things so they really should just do that and combine the tour and game to one racket as well so we get that one budget version of the pro model that's geared towards advanced club tourny level players.
Where can I find balance point of rackets? I am confused between 88 play 99 game 88d game for same reason. Looking for slightly head heavy racket for all around play. True head heavy rackets are not my cup of tea😊😊
Is the 88S tour closest to the 88D pro compared to the 88D tour? Considering the tour models as slightly head heavy. Also is it ok to string the 88S tour with exbolt 68 for the added power. I play doubles mostly. BTW brilliant reviews…I’ve watched quite a few of yours and they are super helpful 😊
In terms of feeling (e.g.: head weight), does 88s Tour differ significantly enough with the 88s Pro that the price differential is worth it for an intermediate-level player? Based on the machine measurements, both seem quite similar.
Hi Yew, nice video by the way. Was trying to ask whether is it worth upgrading to 88d pro gen3 (4u) if I'm having 88d pro gen 2 (4u). I have tried the gen 3-3u and I found way more powerful. Maybe just because of 3u? I'm not sure how the 4u feel.
Hey CK. Can you please publish a review on the AX force 20 racket as promised earlier. I guess most of your viewers shall be intermediate badminton players are would be looking to up their game with better attacking rackets!

hey CK big thank you for the review. I am looking for a new racket below 165€ that would almost be the same as 2nd gen astrox 88d tour 3U but maybe a little touch more flexible and that I could take in 4U to gain a bit of extra speed. Does 3rd gen astrox 88D 4U matches this profile ? Are they other rackets that I should consider ?
