- In this video, I will be talking about Ipswich town on the momentum that they have carried into the championship. #ipswichtown #championship #efl
Subscribe to the very new channel thanks.
We can only keep dreaming. The amount of work the new owners have put in our club is amazing, the facilities/ground has had so much work to bring us out of the dark ages. Mark Ashton our CEO is owed so much praise for what he's done for us. From the squad on the field to everyone in the back office staff has been amazing and for the first time in many many years I'm proud of our club. Our physio team has worked magic on Broadhead and a few others .Thanks for the review 💙
No problem lee, i will do a follow up video near the end of the season 🤝
McKenna is our biggest asset. Very intelligent coach, prepares the team very well for every opposition team, improves players and tactically very strong. Also well connected at Spurs and Man U which is why those prem players are willing to come to the championship. He is heading to the very top in management and we just hope it with us over the next few seasons. This year will be about consolidating ourselves in the championship before a push to the prem in the coming years.
It seems as if Ipswich are doing what Sunderland did last season, but Ipswich have more experience players and could be a surprise shock for some this season.
Make no mistake, despite not talking about it publicly, the aim this year is to go up
Great video. One player that deserves so much credit for the consistency and momentum is captain Sam Morsy. He may not score many goals but his work rate and drive is top level.
Yeah agree he’s been great, can’t believe i missed him off tbh
@@Thefootysquad73 he is one of those players that every team needs. He may not be flashy but he is a natural leader and always seems to get a 7 or 8 out of 10 every match. He already feels like an Ipswich legend even though he's only been on the team a relatively short time.
Sam Morsy best player at the club but hasn't got the flashy image that fans like.
I see us somewhere around 5th to 8th. Good enough for me personally, on our 1st season back.
Great start, it reminds me so much of our first season back. Although injuries hampered our season alot little.
Great video from a Ipswich fan wishing Sunderland luck as ive Always liked away days there, love to see us both in the playoffs 🙏🚜
Thanks mate hopefully its at Wembley 👍🏼
Great video mate! I’ve got to say I’m impressed with how we’ve started our first season back in the championship after 4 years. Personally, I see us finishing just outside top 6. I know we’re 2nd but we still have a long way to go. I reckon we’ll get playoffs next season though
Thanks adam, thats I thought about my team last season. They my surprise you. 👍🏼
Good performance
Good luck Ipswich
There have also been massive investments in the stadium, the pitch and the training ground. The new owners have been really supportive of the manager and the CEO. This club is on the up!!
I follow Ipswich from afar (well, Norwich) and it's evident that the club has regained its soul.
The last six seasons town and Sunderland have had pretty much the same pathways so I’d be happy with 6th or even better and good luck Sunderland for the season
👏🏻
Just came across your channel and subscribe. Top notch quality .in content and and your knowledge..im a ipswich fan from Ireland for 35 years .seen highs and lows .hopefully if not this year.we go up then nxt ..ive a soft spot for Sunderland..been irish and our own niall quinn irish ..that partnership of him and Philips were immense..how ye ended up in league one was beyond me ..but all that's behind ye and ipswich. Ye will be there at the business end of the season..it could be ..ye were jst waiting for us to get in to championship so that two of us go up together..lol..keep the good work going. Great video again.. denis
Thanks for the comment denis 👍🏼
Interesting perspective, and pretty good observations from someone outside the club. Before the season started I said I saw us challenging for the play offs, and top two if everything went really well.
The reason being that the club is being so well run, and we have stability, losing just 3 goals and 3% of appearances from last season. Mc Kenna is superb, and without him being here, we would not have had Brandon Williams, Dane Scarlett or Hutchinson, or the recent free signing of Tuanzebe.
We have now won at Sunderland, QPR and Sheff Wed, and have Southampton away on Tuesday, an interesting time to play them, when they got thumped 5-0 at your places and then lost 4-1 at home to Leicester.
I still think top six, with top two or even top a possibility, depending on what Leicester and the other teams up there do.
It really depends on what happens when we do hit a tough spell results wise, and if someone else, or even two or three teams go on runs.
I was very impressed with the reaction of Sunderland fans to us winning at the SOL, and it seems we want each other to do well, as we like Tony Mowbray a lot as well.
As an outsider reading the comments on here is enlightening. Ipswich have started well using the promotion confidence well and should stay up comfortably unlike sheffield weds who look doomed already.
I think you will finish between 12th and 17th as this form currently isnt sustainable all season.
Nobody connected to your club should be thinking of play offs or promotion at all this season stability is needed after promotion good to have you back in the championship tho
Hello Lord Gilesy, this is an interesting one to see from an outside viewpoint. You are right when you say the confidence is still there from last season & although the opposition are of a higher quality, as such, there hasn't been anyone so far that we cannot match & that "feel good" sensation has not really ebbed away. Expectations have probably been raised for most people, including myself. My initial hope was the high teens & survival, but can now look at it a bit higher & go for top 10. There will be many ups & downs & as always you end up where you deserve to end up. As for Brandon Williams, I am surprised he is on such a high wage & that is something I do not think Ipswich would ever consider paying any player. Of course I will subscribe now. 👍🔵⚪ You do a great job.
Thanks mate, I believe Ipswich have that strong momentum that sunderland had last season, no fear feel to the championship, and thanks for subscribing 🤝
As far as Brandon Williams is concerned, Man Utd have the option to extend his contract for another 12 months and that is the only option. He wanted to come to us because he wanted to work with Mc Kenna, (same with Tuanzebe). Mc Kenna may be relatively inexperienced as a Manager, but has been coaching for 13/14 years now.
Our financial model is like Brentford/Brighton as in adding value to the squad and club by player trading. Signing players like Broadhead, Davis, Hirts, for less than £5M in total and then increasing their value by developing them with quality coaching.
Not sure what value you would give to those three players now, but I would suggest £20M minimum
If we say Williams IS signed for £5M, say, and is then on £3M a year for 3 years, total outlay is £14M...but he would possibly then have a transfer market value of £30M if he is performing at a high level in Championship/Premiership within that three year period.
Same for Tuanzebe....signed on a 12 month deal, not sure what wages, but if he comes in and does well, his value will rocket.
We are seeing capacity crowds at homes games now, and sold 50,000 plus shirts last season, so the trend line for everything is positive, and as others have said spent £2.5M on a new pitch this summer, with similar outlay on new training ground buildings being next, with the training ground pitches being done last season.
Ipswich fan season ticket holder i recko we finish 8th we maybe flying high at moment but championship changes so QUICK 🚜🚜🔵⚪️
I think we will be somewhere between 5th and 10th. We have benefited and taken advantage of stability at the beginning of the season, same core of players and manager as last season whilst most teams have gone through plenty of change so taking time to get up and running, our starting 11 first game against you boys were all players with us last season.
Conceding 6 in out last two league games is a concern but we are still scoring for fun. Hopefully when Walton is back fit and with the addition of Axel Tuanzebe we will become hard to score against once again.
With Brandon Williams, great addition for the season but can’t see us making it permanent, funds would be better used elsewhere. We already have the best LB in the league with Leif David and Harry Clarke at RB is decent.
I’m just going to enjoy the season and football McKenna has us playing before he is poached by a premiership club. Look forward to seeing you boys at PR really enjoyed the trip up to Sunderland and you fans were class.
Was happy to see you smash saints, hopefully that is the kick start to getting your season going.
Last two home games: scored 6 conceded 6. Not sure what to make of that apart from it’s very entraining - for a neutral!😊
Entertaining
We’re on great form, I reckon we finish 8-13th, which we’ll be happy with, gives another year to build
Nice comment s bro .I’m a follower now .ITFC
😂 thanks mate
Great vlog bud, follow the channel. Nice to see you've done a great job on our club... I.T.I.D
Impressive start , but slice of fortune at the SOL with the deflection and pen not given for foul on Clarke. Struggled when Leeds finally showed up and probably had luck on their side at QPR. Momentum is with them for now though. Seem to have pace, which is key
Ipswich are an interesting team. I think they’ll tail off just a little but thinking 8-12 is where they’ll finish. Maybe sneak into the playoffs. Sunderland showed last season that the gap between top 6 in league one to top 6 in the Championship isn’t as big as maybe we thought. Lot of average or worse teams in the Championship.
I think they’ll sneak into the top 6.
Not sure that’s right. They have money behind them and will get top six at least.
I’m a town fan and I think you could be right!! I hope not but I don’t to over estimate my club because it’s a long season and we could lose 3 or 4 games on the trot and find ourselves in mid table 🤨👍
@@stuartbutcher2642 The season is a long hard slog with several "three game weeks". After what we've had to endure I'd be happy just to stay up; however, a top ten finish would be a marked improvement on previous seasons. When it coms to the PL, I don't want to see us yoyoing like Norwich have.
I came to the stadium of light with Ipswich couldn’t believe the result and how well we’ve pushed on from there! Dreamland
Baggott isn't a new signing, he's come from the youth setup, no way are ipswich paying 50-60k wages to anyone. Reckon if we finish anywhere near the play offs then that's good progress
ipswich fan, quietly confident of play off position, love sunderland as well -great part of the world especially seaburn!
After this start I would say play offs but was thinking mid table pre season to push for prem season or 2 after . But I also said the same we won't get relegated no chance !
Nice run down of the past couple of seasons mate. 👌
Elkan baggot 💪
Thank you Sir. A great vlog.
Anywhere above Norwich will do.
It’s early days. Of the four wins, we didn’t play that well in three of them but got by on team spirit and drive.
Don't think we can go up automatically unless we strengthen our squad defensively. I think the likes of Leeds and Southampton will come on strong as the season goes on. My prediction is that we will finish fourth or fifth.
McKenna most definitely is an inexperienced manager; this will be his third season as team manager. Ipswich spent far too many years in the wilderness but the new owners, CEO and manager have turned this around. The scenes at the final game of last season symbolised an end to the period of disconnect that had gone on for so long. I don't think the squad is ready and/or able to compete in the PL but if we get promoted we'll deal with that situation. A top 12 finish would be fine for me. A turning point last season may have been the away game at Bristol Rovers which was a below-par 0-0 draw. After that the team never looked back. I think the only teams that scored against us in our unbeaten run were Port Vale and Cheltenham. Most Town fans expect McKenna to move on to a bigger club at some point.
great video mate, uppa town
Thanks pal 👍🏼
Loving life, now played 19 and accrued 45 points, should stay up 😂
Baggott belter of a signing? Been here since he was 12 or 13
Luongo was the difference, him and morsy and Chaplin little triangle in midfield, people struggle to cope with it , only problem is two of those are hot heads and love a card or two
You've under sold yourself at 10 likes mate. If we can keep our best 14 or so fit, we will give the top 6 a decent shake I think, still worried that there's too much of a drop away in talent if we lose a couple key players
😂 with the channel so small I didn’t think it would get that. Good luck for the rest of the season.
Thank you
Up the Town !
They’ll drop off at some point… but they will definitely be back in the prem soon
I think they’ll get top 6 tbh
Baggott came through the Academy
Good job elkan baggot
If they lose a few games on trot fans will turn . Last season we was 2-0 up and they was booing them it was turning very toxic but fair play to them they brought It back n drew 2-2 n probaly should have won and from.that point they been flying
Yes mate some fans can be like that, you’ve just got to keep the faith and trust the process.
This season we've gone 2-0 down but still won the game. Hopefully fans will realise Rome wasn't built in a day.
Defo top 2 this season. coybs
Apart from when we play yous at you place good luck for the season ahead 👍🏼
They have started well but belive mid table is best they can hope for not bad for newly promoted
When my team sunderland newly promoted last season, I said the same, mid-table and we would be happy.
@@Thefootysquad73 I'm not an Ipswich fan,I'm a ....wait for it. Coventry
I think we'll finish top 6 and have our day at Wembley!!!
Elkan baggot 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Good start but will finish halfway, people getting carried away as usual
When's an update due?
Not just yet, but things are going well
Elkan Baggott was academy player
Yeah i click on after, he’s been on loan at gillingham.
Apparently there is no buy clause in Williams' loan. If he did very well with us, ManU may well want him back, anyway.
Apparently on £50,000 a week, we won’t pay that
The clause in the loan i was on about was obligation to buy or option to buy.
@@Thefootysquad73 Yes, apparently there isn't one (obligation or option), contrary to early reports. Loan only.
That's not to say things won't change further down the line, mind.
Top six..........................
👍🏼
Champions
a long way to go yet,a lot of ball to be kicked.
I should had put some money on Ipswich Town to win the Championship this season 😂.
No way is Brandon Williams on £50-60 grand a week. Even Saudi Arabia teams would not pay that much for a player that is not in Man Utd's first team and is a young player. I would think he is probably earning £5-6 grand a week with them.
Did some research and he’s been reported he actually is on £65,000 a week.
After 5 games....Are you kidding...??
Taking it one game at a time but the changes that have happened in the last year or so have been amazing and Portman Road is full again every single game.
And we have a team that are close and play for each other and it shows on the pitch 💙🤍💙🤍💙
There's been a huge change in atmosphere and culture. The squad oozes confidence.
I herd leeds hadnt won in 20 games then they beat us 🤣🚜🔵⚪️
No
It would an absolute dream to go up of course but as long as we beat the seven finger Martians from Norfolk and finish above them then it will be a great season 💙💙💙⚽️
😂👏🏻
Uppa Towen
