Sorry to hear your sad story, i hope you can stay strong and i hope you get support from your family and friends to get through the hard times. I don't know you but i think i can say from the reaction videos that you are a good, kind and smart person so you are doing great. If your mother could see you i know she would be very proud of you. The pain can't go away but try to focus on the good things that still are in your life, i really hope your family and friends are there for you.
Many artists get personal in their songs but NO ONE puts emotions in a realer way than Eminem. And you're right I absolutely love his skillful songs where he just raps in an impressive way and I like his comedy songs but his story songs and songs where he just pours his heart out are by far his best

I grew to never hate my folks for existing, but to appreciate them for trying.
This song got to me for various reasons and then you broke down why you related to it and it was such a comfort. The human experience can be terrifying and awful but it can also be amazing when you get to share it with kindred spirits. Thank you for your honesty and reaction to this song. The world is a large place but we are all in this together, making it feel very small after all.

Not afraid by eminem literally made me crawl out of my anxiety and stress hole and pull myself up more times than I can count, other than that, going trough changes is also one.

This is basically my mom and mine relationship til this day. I will always love her but there is no way to get the time back from my childhood that was lost to me. This one brings tears to my eyes and hits home for sure.

shit im crying with you, my mom was an alcoholic and died 5 years ago and I didnt get to explain anything to her, and I found her dead in her apartment shit, the whole of the recovery album helped me carry through the toughest times of my life.
Thank you Lilly, I know this was painful, but to me its cathartic. I lost my brother due to drugs and then my dad..my mom had to ”wrangle a teenage dirtbag” you Did amazing as always, and now I have someone to cry with when I need it.

Going Through Changes really helped me after losing my daughter at just ten months old. I went through a rough patch. Gym and music was my therapy but I did hit a low like in that song and decided to quit drinking. Went 6 years without it.

I can listen to this song over and over. This was my life growing up. I haven't seen my mother in years, and that's my choice. I did reach out and send her this song months ago.. her reaction? "Your mom sent me a lovely song. I think she's finally growing up and wants to see me." (She sent to my daughter) 🤦🏻♀️

I'm sure most people from single mother homes can relate to this to some extent, my mom wasn't an addict as far as I'm aware but she was always emotionally manipulative and even abusive at times but I know she also loves me and I still love her

This is so accurate. I don’t have a great relationship with my mom. Just recently we started communicating but barely.
As far as you said you never get the opportunity to forgive your mom because she passed away. Have you thought about writing a note explaining your pain and everything she put you through and end it with forgiveness. Bury the note at her site or anywhere that’s a reminder.

So many song songs have triggers for me, I think it’s a good thing that someone’s art moves us in these type of ways… we trick ourselves sometimes that we are ok and things are under control and then one lyric or verse or chord just hits and reminds us that the truth inside us can’t be suppressed and needs to come out and breathe. A credit to you for putting yourself out there and show vulnerability to your audience. X
Songs like these get to me too! I love your reactions they genuine and pure! I can relate to them so much as I don’t have my parents, 3/4 grandparents, and a brother and sister who passed, but I know that I am lucky to have my other brother and sister, grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The rest of my aiga (family in Sāmoan)! Lost Mom, Dad, and Sis to cancer. Grandparents to old age except one had dementia, and a brother to s*i*ide. All very hard. I their love still exists in my heart so that helps me through everyday! And hopefully it helps you as well! You are amazing and don’t forget that! Positivity outshines our demons! I almost always have a genuine smile on my face because I am at a good place in life with a loving and amazing wife and beautiful kids! They have made me feel whole again and I am thankful for that! Same with my 2 dogs!

He had to go through his own personal hell to understand and emphasize the brokenness, distance, find clarity to bring healing to his immediate self and later apply that to everyone else in his life that always mattered on some level. I feel that, I'm working on myself to this day to forgive myself and my family for everything that was so we can someday look foward to what still can be. I love your reaction, I feel it really struck an authentic chord with you as well and you didn't hesitate to acknowledge the power music can hold.

I’m Sorry that You had a terrible up bringing that’s heart braking to hear. I lost My Mum to Cancer nearly 11 years ago. The song of Eminem that has got me throu a lot and helped me deal with the loss of Both of My parents at a young age is Not Afraid and there is a few others as well. Once again I’m So Sorry for the pain You went throu as a child and still to this day. Ems music has helped me throu so much. ❤❤

Had him in my discman, on my mp3 player, on my phone and now on streaming ...
There's so many Eminem songs I can relate to and vibe to. Specifically though, and I don't think this track gets enough credit for just how good it is, but his song Legacy is time and time again my reason to push forward in life. It's such a good "Being the outcast to growing into owning the outcast role in life and just being you" track. Easily my favorite track from MMLP2
So sorry for your losses. Eminem's Recovery album has gotten me through a lot. I would recommend listening to Difficult and You're Never Over. Both songs are a tribute to Eminem's best friend Proof who was killed in 2006.

Edit: The Eminem song that got me through tough times, well, I have a couple. Bad Husband off Revival cause of the rough times my parents went through and how my father used to treat my mother. Then I'd say Going Through Changes off Recovery for my addiction problems of the past (and one present). There's prolly a few others like Sing for the Moment and Mosh used to get me amped before basketball games in high school.

I wanna say, this was by far one of his most emotional & to heart songs he had did at the time, which caught everyone by surprise. It hit home to so many people I think as well as it hit home for me & obviously you as well, glad you were able to talk about it.
I don't know if it'll hit hard for you, but it hit hard for me when he released Castle/Arose which I think you should react/listen to next. They are very hard hitting songs & they are played back-to-back & it shows how even if you're at your lowest, you can still overcome & be the best person you can be. At least how I interpret those two songs.
