Manny’s fielding % is 0.966 and nolans is 0.968. Manny also has less errors. So if manny’s fielding is basically identical to nolan, he has less errors than nolan, he is ranked third in OAA, how is his DRS negative and his defense WAR (according to baseball reference) average? Nolan is better defensively but not way better in the same way manny is better than nolan offensively. Baseball reference is also a terrible site that is always changing their defensive metrics. They gave matt chapman a negative defensive WAR rating when he won a platinum glove. They redid their grading and chapman magically had a great defensive year. When you have players that are this evenly match, you go watch the playoffs. Nolan had 1 H and had a error in game 1 that made the potential of a Cards comeback low. Manny had a way better playoff performance and played elite defense.

I'm honestly surprised Marc ranked Josh Donaldson as high as 14th. It feels generous, and I'm a Yankees fan. With the bat, Donaldson was horrible this season, but yet his defense was spectacular. Here's hoping the offense comes back a little bit, because we the fans don't like him much.

Also I would probably switch Arenado and Machado. But those are all small things that probably more matter on how each person ranks certain aspects of the game

Comerica park really isn’t nearly as bad of a park for hitters as you always seem to think. Huge gaps allows for tons of extra bases and down the lines is like average for an MLB stadium. As long as you don’t hit it to dead center it doesn’t affect how well a hitter does as much as you make it seem
