I sat by his side, i had never talked to him before, but i always admired his courage, as he would do something i couldn't get myself to do [be the goalkeeper of that game with rocks]. As i sat by his side i said the first thing I've ever told him. "I think its ok to cry when we are hurt. I do sometimes and it helps the pain to go away." I remember vividly him looking back at me with his eyes watering. 🥲He cried a bit, didn't say anything back and smiled at me. A minute later he was back doing his thing. That day I made a friend. Its been over 30 years and I never talked to him again, but in my mind I still have that friend. That's a friend for me. Also!
