Yes very much enjoyed that, so more blues tips & tricks. for this old age beginner.Only started on uku in the lock down needed a new hobby that a 80 yr old may try to manage. I've looked quite a few of your videos and enjoy your way of putting it over. Thank you.
I thought I'd go back to the beginning to remember the foundational bits of the uke. I'm truly thankful for this lesson Rachel. Your instructions are taking me to fabulous places that I never imagined being possible (at my "25" years of age). Wink! Wink! Thank you so, so very much!
Thank You. You Make Everything Clear. I Am A Senior Needing Music In My Life Again, so I Chose Ukulele To Revive. So Happy I Was Led To Your Teachings.
Thanks, you have a real gift for teaching explaining things so simply, only started the uke 4 months ago and loving it, your lessons really help. Cheers from South East Wales
Another video where all the little bits of info rattliing aimlessly around my head are put into their proper order. many thanks, you really are a great teacher.
Would love to see more Blues lessons, as I love your way of teaching, and I'm struggling with a book I bought on the blues...I think its maybe too advanced for me yet. Great lesson. Stay safe.😷
Thanks Relax Max, I will certainly look to do some more Blues then. Might not be straight away but will definitely do more, and Thanks for the nice comment about my style. I'm trying to relax a bit more and now am starting to enjoy them.
Hi, love all of the lessons very relaxed and easy to follow, I've been playing percussion for many years but during lockdown I decided to try and learn a stringed instrument and thanks to your lessons I'm really enjoying it.
Thanks for the tutorials, all of them I think you are a great online teacher. And yes, though I am a pure beginner (from Spain) I really enjoy the blues tricks though there is a lot of practice ahead to do. Thanks :)
Diolch. Just found you on UA-cam and love your teaching style. Been round the world on UA-cam trying to improve my Uke playing whilst in lockdown and you were just down the road from me in Wales all the time! 🏴. Would love more of blues, finger picking or anything to move me on a bit from basic strumming😊
Shw mae Huw! Glad you have enjoyed the video and the way I'm doing them. There will definitely be more Blues stuff in the future and some more advanced things eventually too. Do you play in any groups?
Ukulele Wales Bore da. Just 6 friends ( 5 beginners) in Cardiff area meet informally in houses to practice each week for last 6 months - not a formal club. Doing it via Zoom whilst in lockdown. I am keen personally to dig bit deeper so interested in blues, picking, ragtime and general theory, so been all over UA-cam these last few weeks. Found you on Twitter now as well so will keep updated with any new posts and Uke activity in South Wales when we are allowed out! Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Steve and shw mae right back at you. I will certainly look at different keys, when you say turn around, do you meaning the last chord before starting it over?
Really great introduction. I've learned much more about the Uke watching a week your videos than a year at school. Great job and a huge thank you. You are a great teacher. I can now change the strings, tune and maintenance the uke, can play the most important chords and I've learned some strumming technique in only two weeks. I hope you make lessons about fingerpicking for beginners in future. Greetings from germany
Thank you so much. I love your lessons. I’m struggling but you give me the confidence to continue. Recently had my index finger amputated but I think I’ll be able to play a few tunes if I persevere with your wonderful lessons to help me. 😍
Thanks for the lovely comment Mary. Sorry to hear about your finger but hopefully you will find a way and if there is anything I can do to help, please ask.
Shamai Rachel. Can’t wait for your next lessons............Was wondering if in the future, you could give any tips on how to stop the notes ringing out - i.e as in a chunk on the ordinary uke. I was just listening to Pat Boone ‘Ain’t that a shame’. Tried (and failed miserably! ) to do that wonderful (and quite common!) bass riff - useless with the notes ringing on............any tips gratefully received! Thanks SOOO much!
Shw mai Pam. Thanks for the lovely comment! To stop the notes ringing out on the bass you can either dampen the stings with your right hand in between plucking the strings (especially useful for open strings) or you can lift your left hand fingers slightly off the the strings and this also helps to dampen the notes. Let me know if you are still having a problem with it.
Shwmae. In the comments you mention that you might make some more Blues lessons. I've looked through your many fine videos, but have not been able to find additional Blues ones. Is it me? Would love to see more such lessons, as I enjoy your teaching style (and you're Welsh, of course!). O chwaraewr iwcalili yng Ngwlad Belg.
Diolch yn fawr David. Yes, sorry I haven't got aorund to more blues stuff yet, it is all on the list but it is very long.............. definitely coming soon though as I plan to look the the blues scale. Love Belgium, made many trips there as a smurf collector many years ago!
@@UkuleleWales Thank you! Yes, Belgium's a good place to be. I've lived here since 1971 (had a 12 year break to live in Spain, too), and am now awaiting citizenship. Was born in Wales, though, and will always be Welsh. Haven't been back for several years and now, with Brexit, will probably never return again.
Thanks. Basically any blues song follows this pattern so you just need to find out the key of the song to find the 3 chords you need. A few songs on my Ukulaliens channel that follow this pattern are: Hound Dog, Mustang Sally, Great Balls Of Fire
Hi miss please could you explain 7th chord major, major and minor, 7th minor, 6th chord, 9th chord, diminished and augmented. Also what are the uses and what will change if we use these chords.
What you have just asked is probably about 4 different lessons. Try finding some music theory lessons on UA-cam as I do cover some of these topics within other lessons but U certainly wouldn’t try to put it all into 1 lesson.
Thank you for your response. I’m not surprised you didn’t know, lol. Think the word should have been “tricks” which you added to the 12 Bar Blues video. I replayed the video several times and actually figured out where to put my fingers for the added “tricks”. This is a great exercise and more like it would be great. Question, do you teach finger picking on the ukelele?
@@jennitrevelyan3937 Hi, that all makes sense now and I'm very glad you've worked it out. Also a massive Thank You for the Patreon support too, I had meant to mention it earlier. I will at some point look at some finger style stuff but it really isn't one of my stengths so it would only be basic stuff.
