I want to thank you for being the only Larq PureVis 2 reviewer that thought to mention the fact that the filters must be replaced --- and FREQUENTLY!!!! I was almost ready to purchase one until your review stopped me. Thanks for mentioning the "obvious." It's easy to get caught up in the "hype" of new products and forget that most makers ALWAYS are planning on how to keep you coming back and spending more money over and over again. I understand a filter needs to be changed. It is what it is.
Great review! I agree that it's hard to drink through the straw; it's actually easier to drink a milk shake through a straw. I also like to chug my water and having to basically suck so hard to drink is a non-starter for me. I typically use Nalgene bottles, which are sturdy enough, have large caps (which allow me to chug) and are dishwasher safe. The Larq bottle also does NOT keep water cold, and clearly has little or no insulation despite Larq's claims. I have not noticed any reminders to drink, but that may be because my bottle was sitting where the opening obscured the light. I think Larq might be worth bringing when camping or spending time outdoors away from civilization, but not really worth it at home. Thanks for posting this video!
I like all your points! It's a shame that it doesn't keep the water cold for as long as they claim. It's just an overpriced water bottle at this point.
Great review. Thank you! It’s perfect for travel for me; it takes care of heavy metals as well as viruses/bacteria in an all in one solution. In hot climates, I also appreciate the insulation! My previous solutions meant carrying a steripen and bottle but that left out metals and such which is a concern.
I just got one last night and really enjoy it. I agree if you don't use the straw it's not really worth it and maybe the normal pure vis would be better and cheaper. I don't mind the straw and love how the app can integrate with apple health.
Great review. You discussed some things that other reviewers didn’t. I would be using this bottle primarily for travel and have 2 questions. 1. With the lid closed, the bottle completely leak proof? I have bottles leak when fill on the ground when they get up in the air. 2. When you use it in chug mode does it still log how much you drink and does the lid get in the way of chugging? Thanks!!
Thanks for your comment! 1. With the lid closed it is completely leak proof. Yeah I think that has to do with the airplane pressure maybe? 2. Yes, in chug mode it still logs how much you drink. Lid does not get in the way when drinking and locks when extended all the way back. Hope that helps!
I’m actually on the fence with this water bottle, I currently own the steel lifestraw go and a grayl geopress, both good filtering water bottles for the price with each having their pros and cons. Thanks for the review and honest opinion.
Just bought this and used it for the first time on 1/6/25. I couldn't drink anything from the straw and the little hole on the right side is dropping more water. How are you guys drinking from the straw?
What would you recommend the 1L or 680ml version in terms of every day use, fitting in vehicle cup holders, bags, exercise equipment and just carrying it around?
The filter straw is quite annoying to have. I just removed it completely because I feel like that extra filtration is not necessary. Once removed it makes drinking much better and you still have all the features you need
@@glassmw9823 i do have the purevis one. I was interested in purevis two for the water tracking feature. I had no idea it had an extra filter that you have to pay for and replace every other month. Luckily it still purifies and water tracks without the filter and straw
I put it together to use it ths morning. The spout does not snug to the top so the straw and the filter that are attached to it are useless. Whole thing comes right off because the spout is not made right size wise. When I tried to drink, only air comes out. I tried and tried so many times to push it. I thought I didn't push it hard enough. But no matter how hard I push it in, the spout comes right off from the top. It's very disappointing. It's not only mine, but my husband's does the same. We gave 2 individuals as gifts, but I really regret it. I hope I can get refund or replacements that work. I'm waiting to hear from Larq.

you can remove the straw and filter and just use it without. Filters are to be changed every 151 liters, I think it's reasonable
Define “frequently”…
Yes, I totally agree with you. I ditched the filter and straw and have been happier with it. It's still an overpriced water bottle in my opinion.
It says every 2 months or 40 gallons.
Love the honest opinions, I'm thinking if I should buy it or not
No problem! Depends what you are looking for tbh!

Thanks for sharing and for your support :)
Great review thank you I don’t think I’ll buy one anymore
Love the flip lid. With v1, it’s hard to use while driving as I have to use both hands to open the lid. Now I can flick it open with one finger 👌👍
If that filter helps keep microplastics outta my body, totally worth it 👌
Good review 👍
Thank you so much! :)

All great points! I enjoy the bottle more without the straw, just make drinking so much easier

I just got my bottle, and drinking with the filter is super annoying! It's even almost impossible. If only I had known this before...
Yeah, I just took it off! So much easier without it
@@writtenbyjess Absolutely. But it is a shame it has to be this way, as the filter is one of the USPs.
Just bought this and used it for the first time on 1/6/25. I couldn't drink anything from the straw and the little hole on the right side is dropping more water. How are you guys drinking from the straw?
Are you sipping on the straw or just tipping the water bottle?
Hey do you need to use the filtration system straw thingy too use this or can you just drink from the top without it?
You can pop off the straw/filter and use as a chug bottle! Still tracks your water intake.
Can you tell me if the top is plastic or steel? I liked the first purvis because of the steal construction... It looks plastic now?
The top is all plastic.
Top on the first pure vis is not steel…
Does the app accurately track drinking if I refill it three times a day?
It should, as long as the lid is charged.
What would you recommend the 1L or 680ml version in terms of every day use, fitting in vehicle cup holders, bags, exercise equipment and just carrying it around?
I probably would suggest the 680ml. But it’s ultimately personal preference and how much water you drink.
680 ml / 23 oz. Had the first one for a few years and use it all the time, fits great in cupholders and other places like bag/backpack sleeves
Can you comment on the taste of the water?
Tastes the same to be tbh...
That’s CRAZY expensive, I just paid mine 88$ tax & shipping included on their website for black Friday and I live in QC
Yeah, I paid way too much :( They claimed it wouldn't be any lower than what they sell it for on Kickstarter, but that obviously wasn't true!

I also just removed it earlier this week and it has been 100% better in my opinion. Easier to drink without the hassle of the straw.
Maybe if you have clean tap water at home the filter is not important. But when traveling abroad I can definitely see its use
Why not just get the pure vis 1?

If I take out the straw it will still track the water?
Yes, it will! I tested it :)
Terribly designed cap!
Yeah, it's been interesting to use...
Based on what?

This is very expensive to buy it. I won’t consider to buy just a water bottle if it cost more than $25
Haha, totally fair! I definitely paid too much 😅
