The water hose actually holds the pump cover very tight, so you need to push it while doing it with the cover itself. Also, I don't recommend using a big screwdriver to place it inside from the top and get leverage out there because of the propeller and its axis are quite fragile. EDIT: I just watched a bit more of the video and yeah, the pump axis is a fragile thing.
I can feel your pain, I made a rookie mistake of stripping a sump plug before using a cheapo torque wrench I just sat there in slight shock thinking what to do next staring at the damn thing.
Looks like corrosion on the dowels, these probems happen all the time with old bikes, good time to look on eBay for second hand replacements. Looks like it will be a full tear down, no stone left unturned.........love the videos Matt
+ROY Dean A replacement impeller is £15 which I thought wasn't too bad, until I looked at the price of the shaft £23.74! Then I nearly passed out when I saw a gasket kit was £66! lol
+Pony Power..........I would be thinking about using the old gasket,,,,and cutting them out of gasket material...where I could,,,,,.....maybe at this stage keep an eye on eBay is case something turns up.....
Cool mate its given me good tips mate am going to be changing the clutch plates and stuff soon. It never rains ,it pours .But remember if it was easy we would all be doing it,which is why your making a video and we are all watching.

You slagged Delboy off for using a screwdriver as a lever 😩
why are you not using wd-40 to remove rust and loosen stuck metal parts like screws, bolts, nuts or the wather pump?
Because he know everything better.
Is the same CDI suitable for all those models ER-5 / KLE 500 / GPZ 500 / EKS 500
I have gpz500s 96 model oil is coming from between the crank shaft an case how can this be fixed please
Can you help me to work for you I can do anything mechanical......
Sorry to see the water pump was less than cooperative with you :(
+Mariusmssj M As you can tell I was proper pissed off with myself. But shit happens, gotta move on
+Pony Power Is it going to cost a lot of the part?
yeah, the impeller and the shaft cost £37!
Its not the cost its the fact that I have to buy another thing I didn't expect thats all
