As all his fans painfully know, Colin was tragically taken from us on 26 January 2016. But he left a legacy with such a huge back catalogue of great songs, recorded performances & memories; he was a master of the #LoveSong - whether a high energy rouser or the slowest of #ballads; he had his trademark voice - often described as "silky smooth" or #VelvetVoice; and he was such a lovely bloke who never strayed too far from his roots, just his record companies' demands. Colin never had the wider appreciation & commercial success his talent deserved, but his many dedicated fans know he is a truly great #SingerSongwriter, one of the very best of his (& our) generation. As an #InMemorian #InMemory tribute, I have been pulling together some of Colin's favourites & the fans' - your - favourites, and posting them via #Twitter using the following hashtags: #ColinVearncombe (that unusual name he thought was a cross to bear, now an advantage!) #Black #JustMakingMemories It would be great if you shared your very favourite tracks & videos as part of the tribute. On the #anniversary of his death (26/1/2016) & the anniversary of his beautiful #MemorialService at the #Liverpool Anglican Cathedral (19/2/2016), it would be a fitting tribute for us to share these two videos on your social media: #BlackIsTheColourOfHope (dedicated to Colin by Chris McDonald & Rod Da Rosa) ua-cam.com/video/_f0Lv8jmnI4/v-deo.html #WonderfulLife (the song he fell in & out of love with but was proud of at the end) ua-cam.com/video/TVD9lo2FLLc/v-deo.html As in the song sung so beautifully at Colin's Memorial Service by Chris & Rod: "I just felt so cheated you were taken too soon...tonight a thousand voices will be crying out for you...because you made Black the colour of hope...you keep playing on for us, so we'll keep playing on for you".
+Matthew Pryer I got the CD for Christmas and was playing it constantly whilst away on holiday in January. It was then I learned Colin had passed away. Such a waste if ever there was. All the songs then took on a different meaning. Since then I can't bring myself to listen to the album. I know one day I'll play it on my deck again but at the moment listening to the CD would make me very sad! I have been listening to Colin's older work though. RIP Colin!
+Mike Keel yep, every song on this album is a killer. Songs like this one which are so emotive anyway just seem, as you say, to take on a whole new meaning now that he is gone. There's a sense of finality to this album....almost fitting as a final album. Almost holding back some of his best until last to share as a final parting gift. I'll stop there, emotions are stirring.....this song is a work of art. Best wishes m8 RIP Colin x
Stone Soup Long on lonely nights And wishing them over With a short run To the next one These are magical lives we get to try We get to run But are we enchanted………no? Then change I change Too long marking time Living on stone soup Can I do What I have to? I will change What I don’t know of is What I must let go of; All that I should leave behind I will change what I must let go of ; Every kiss you receive after this one With everything else I wont do
One of my favorite songs. Simply beautiful...
I still come back to this song. It's haunts me in a beautiful, bittersweet way 💔

The harmonies in this remind me of Colin's early work. Lovely stuff!!
+Mike Keel I agree, this is the soul of Colin, there is such a strong, emotive undercurrent to this beautiful song.

Stone Soup
Long on lonely nights
And wishing them over
With a short run
To the next one
These are magical lives we get to try
We get to run
But are we enchanted………no?
Then change
I change
Too long marking time
Living on stone soup
Can I do
What I have to?
I will change
What I don’t know of is
What I must let go of;
All that I should leave behind
I will change what I must let go of ;
Every kiss you receive after this one
With everything else I wont do
