I love this pen and you got a steal of a deal. It's no longer that cheap!

It's my favorite Stipula so far. The prices can fluctuate a lot of Amazon. I use the wish list feature on Amazon as well as camelcamelcamel.com for price alerts and price history.

I have the Champagne (gold and blue) version of this pen and I like it quite a bit. I got it at a trunk show, so it ran me about $450 I believe. The one thing that frustrated me was that the nib was very out of alignment when I bought it. Luckily, I was going to have it ground to a Cursive Smooth Italic at the show, and bless Matthew Chen for now charging me to adjust it before he could grind it. I am a sucker for a faceted pen.

That is a beautiful pen. I had mine tuned but I kept the factory grind. I really like mine.

You’d expect a Stipula-crazy fan like me to definitely comment on this, right? 😋
Excellent review, as usual, Blake, of a drop-dead gorgeous pen.
I think I told you before that I think the faceted Etruria is essential to any Stipula fan’s collection. I own three of the faceted Etrurias, one in the Amber celluloid and the other in the lovely Tortoise resin model (F). And yet another in a red/orange ebonite. Alas, all bought at premium prices. I absolutely love everything about the faceted Etruria. Some of the most beautiful, desirable pens ever made anywhere. Except the prices. Very over-the-top MSRP, and even the retailer’s discounts don’t help much when it’s still around $700+…Even for a very beautiful resin like this, the price really is unfair and makes you seriously pause before buying. The faceted celluloids are typically $1k plus MSRP. How do you always
manage to snap these resin Stipulas at such incredibly unbeatable prices? For that price, it’s crazy not to buy this pen. Glad that you did.
The in-house nibs are genuinely fantastic. A very distinct feel to the way they write. Both the standard 14k and 18k. The 14k/18k Stiflex nibs are even better.
The faceted body, the tapered section, the piston system, the very attractive sterling silver trims and especially the silver rings around the cap really appeal to me a lot. I really like the 0.9 stub. Though Stipula’s stub/italic don’t offer the sort of line variation you’d expect. Lovely writers, still. You’re right about the less than ideal capping /thread issue. It’s actually something that seems to be common on other Stipulas, too. Aurora has it perfect, on this count.
Stipula remains rather overlooked and under-rated. Some of the past reported QC issues and negative comments by users online - and the prices probably deter many potential buyers. Your honest and positive reviews should help change that and encourage more people to seriously consider buying Stipulas they like. I have a dozen Stipulas - and intend to probably buy one or two more that I still need to have in my collection. Use your Red Currant pen as often as possible. Stipulas are best savored when used. 🙂

Thank you Sajjad! I am a Stipula fan. This Etruria is my favorite so far. The nib is excellent. I use camelcamelcamel.com and the Amazon wishlist feature to find good prices.

Pretty pen. I have a faceted StIpula Etruria in amber celluloid. Stipula's aesthetic is unique, and I do like it.

I will have to add a celluloid Stipula to my collection at some point. They are so pretty.

Interesting video, especially since Stipula is rarely, if ever, reviewed by other reviewers. Such a big discount in price does make us poor viewers a bit envious.

I didn't buy them all in one go. I setup price alerts with camelcamelcamel.com and once they went low enough I bought. I am not saying this will happen again with this model but I frequently find good pen deals on Amazon.

That is a beautiful pen Blake, but considering the size and price, it should have came with a #8 nib. Congrats anyway on scoring it for the price you paid 🎉.

Thanks Gino! I don't think Stipula does a #8 size nib but I agree that it would make this pen even better.
