My biggest tip: Bind a mining tool to Ctrl+1 and a combat tool to Ctrl+2 so you can optimize each one for its role but switch instantly. It has made such a huge difference for me to have those on quick select.
One thing to note is that the positioning of mods for your ship, multitool, and exosuit plays a huge role in the effectiveness of their buffs. That includes the craftable mods. You have to play around with where to place them in relation to the tool/weapon. It's more than just distance from the part, but I don't have it down to an exact science yet. What helps me is using a royal multitool for mining and an experimental for combat. I can then use all the weapons I want and max out their damage.

Highest damage number possible doesn't necessarily mean more damage. With the boltcaster, shots per burst does not affect the damage number for your MT; however, it does increase your damage per burst drastically. Standard boltcaster burst is 5 shots. Gaining 1 shot per burst ups it to 6 or a 20% increase to damage per burst (6/5=1.20). +2 shots per burst is 40% increase. I'll take shots per burst over 2% damage any day. Scatter blaster is only good for looking like you have a high damage potential. Key word is "potential". Its a shotgun, damage drops off massively as distance from target increases.
Yeah I liked scatter til I realized the stupid sentinels dodge sooo much that I'd rather have Boltcaster or other focused beam that I can actually aim. I mean sure when scatter hits it really hurts but yeah. I think Boltcaster might be the best and strongest considering you can have so many mods for it. And the adjacency bonuses probably really rack up with it.. Also I disagree. I'll take shots per burst AND damage increase ;) brb duping.
Thanks prof. Hate to be a kill-joy but the reason the MT has 3000 damage is the pre-installed weapons. Remove the pulse splitter and it goes down considerably. That said, it’s a tidy looking MT.

Pulse Spitter is the "secret sauce" here. Dismantle it and this weapon will drop to 469... Pulse Spitter is the mod increasing it to 3000 ish. All the alien weapons are good but basically it's which weapon is best. I was going by the guide for Prayer but Scatter Blaster you have to be too close. I'll keep scatter on for the damage Potential but see how Boltcaster does considering it has a ton of attachable mods. Including Sentinel mods that only affect it. Nah... It's not a "cut down version" it's click bait. Regardless still great videos. 🤷♀️
I found one with 3666 damage, juste with the mining beam installed, nothing else ! With all S-class update, I reached 168'000 damage ! Awesome, just with the mining beam, I can destroy everything with one short click !
Looking through my MTs and I had one I bought ages ago, never looked at it with over 6k damage potential. Scatter blaster is the main source of damage. Nutty and I'm pissed I never bothered. I got it cause it looked cool lol
If you go to the space station, there is a similar multitool there. I didn't see the stats on it though. It looked like a rifle version of the one on the planet
Space Station is always worse. Usually being a grade below. Basically you warp bunch of times until you find an A rank at a station that is how you know an S rank exists on one of the planets and then you use maps to find it.
Weird opening but nice video as always. Also im curious is there a weapon thats rare to find? I mean like the flamethrower. Is there anything else like that in the game thats either rare or its been taken out that you know of?
The flamethrower MT is called Dreams of the Sky. It's easy to find but the flamethrower mod has been patched out. But it is an S class MT with high basic damage(2000+). Add some slots for your mods and the tool fires up to 10K damage. With the Sentinel mods for the Geology Cannon, you can easily destroy anything but watch your firing distance as the splash damage will kill you if your enemy is close enough.
I have the 3 refiners set up rite n i put the upgrade in it n check n its in all 3 i go to take one out of the middle one n the other ones r gone wen i got to get them outta the rifiner

Thanks for the God tier Multi tool and I did another experiment when the same setup the way you place the refiners it also dupes anything that you put in I just dupe glass and salvage data also the old glitch still works with the refiners on the planet
I was using a different method where I store crappy green tier mods on ship to skip bad s or x mods however duping you can skip this and you don't have to sit on anomaly to buy more c mods. Can just fill up inventory at your dupe refiners and grab more after you use them all up. Til you get max stat mods. Yes can dupe anything you can put into it. Couldn't get nanites to work however so better to just figure out most expensive S class mod and dupe it for nanites..
@@ArmisHart I wish I could dupe Nanites because I got a huler to upgrade but so far I’m low on Nanites and the only way I can get so much is refine tainted metal I get 4096 every 12mins and that takes way too much time I could dupe S Mods but I’m max inventory and get 409 Nanites from each one

@@austinumbro8355 you can. Firstly just dupe larval cores or hadal cores (from submerged relics) as shown above. Instead of placing your portable refiners as above place one down on its own. Place 5 cores in and refine them (takes 2 secs and gives you 250 nanites) Leave the nanites where they are and add 5 more cores and refine them. (Should show 500 nanites now. Refine the rest of the cores until you have your 4096 nanites. Leave the nanites where they are and add anything else you want to duplicate in the input box. Place another refiner over the top of the existing one as closely aligned as possible to the original. Pick up this second refiner. If you’ve placed it correctly you should collect a portable refiner, the carbon, 4096 nanites and whatever was in the input box. Place the refiner back over the top of the original again. Rinse and repeat. 👍

I had the same thing happen to me. I think (not sure) that this portal is part of the storyline and only has that function. If you continue through the storyline I think you come to another ports and may be able to use that one as your traveling portal. I have been back to the first portal and it does the same thing I end up stranded on a planet with no ship and nothing to do. So I end up reloading my auto save to back out of it.

@@-VaLaK no worries. It doesn't exist. People keep saying this not understanding that it's the MOD that does it. Base damage never even exceeds 1,000 damage. It's the mods dude..
Correct you can put them in a c/curve shape and it still works. The bottom bars just have to be overlapping I believe. Enter middle right and left refiners ensuring the items shows and take from left and exit. As long as item shows upon reentering the glitch is activated. Sometimes when it doesn't work I delete left and use middle and only 2 refiners are left lol. But middle sometimes is activated and working 🤷♀️

I think an alien pistol multitool or the cheapest pistol you can find does the exact same damage if they have the same modules set up and bonus. My very boring regular pink and blue pistol multitool does just under 10,000 boltcaster damage. Scans of animals give me up to 579,000 units for each, depends on the animal, flora I get 88,000 units each and 70,000 units for each mineral i scan. I'd love to see you prove me wrong... or maybe you already did in another video?
I've found the same thing to be true. I think its just looks because I've found A class and S class basic guns and still do the same damage as my alien same mods too.
@@rrusso33 nothing to share, I took the first pistol S class I found to replace the starting multi-tool. Happened to be a regular pink and blue one. I slapped in 3 sentinel and 3 illegal modules for boltcaster. The 3 sentinel ones are maxed at +20% firing rate, -15% reload time and +3% damage. My 3 illegal mods are good but not maxed. So 10k dam for boltcaster still possible, I just don't have time right now.
@@rrusso33 As for scanning for tons of units, I have 3 illegal scan modules, all 3 give me +10,000% on flora, fauna and minerals and +50% scan range. So each animals scanned give you 250k to almost 600k per scan and the flora and minerals in the 70k to 90k each. So I can make millions in a few min just scanning.

I think he just duplicates the multi-tool expansion slot upgrade (which I've only seen one of in my 64 hours of play).
You'll need a 'Save Editor' on PC to do this.

Frfr. I've got a Prayer of the Ancients alien MT that knocks 12k RIGHT NOW. And that's without maxed x class.

I think an alien pistol multitool or the cheapest pistol you can find does the exact same damage if they have the same modules set up and bonus. My very boring regular pink and blue pistol multitool does just under 10,000 boltcaster damage. Scans of animals give me up to 579,000 units for each, depends on the animal, flora I get 88,000 units each and 70,000 units for each mineral i scan. I'd love to see you prove me wrong... or maybe you already did in another video?
I've found the same thing to be true. I think its just looks because I've found A class and S class basic guns and still do the same damage as my alien same mods too.

@@rrusso33 nothing to share, I took the first pistol S class I found to replace the starting multi-tool. Happened to be a regular pink and blue one. I slapped in 3 sentinel and 3 illegal modules for boltcaster. The 3 sentinel ones are maxed at +20% firing rate, -15% reload time and +3% damage. My 3 illegal mods are good but not maxed. So 10k dam for boltcaster still possible, I just don't have time right now.
@@rrusso33 As for scanning for tons of units, I have 3 illegal scan modules, all 3 give me +10,000% on flora, fauna and minerals and +50% scan range. So each animals scanned give you 250k to almost 600k per scan and the flora and minerals in the 70k to 90k each. So I can make millions in a few min just scanning.
