played OW through release - 2018 hit my highest at 3654 (justtttt masters) still have the screenshot of hitting masters to this day. started playing again a few weeks ago and im doing the same 40-70 kill games as tank which was my sweat role that got me to masters. anywayyyy I got placed silver. haven't had a single teammate in voice chat. no counter picking, no target focusing, no ult discipline or coordinating pushes, DPS and even healers over extending. I think im good. this video open my eyes a little to the climbing grind I don't wish to participate in. Thank you good sir for saving me the pain that I've witnessed you go through. Im putting this game to rest. for good

no counterpicking? brother I have a smurf in plat and the enemy tank is playing mystery heroes by swapping to a different counter every death

@turtl1873 yeah plat maybe, but idk this silver/gold elo is essentially angry quickplay lol. It's a miracle to get someone to work together and respond to a call out

​@TobiTV-1 It's a team game your score is not the biggest contributor to rank. It's winning. Also like the other guy said you had demotion protection so it was like 2 losses. 17% a loss isn't even a lot most of the time a win or loss on average is like 22% so if anything you got off easy

@@ChimpRevolutionand that’s a problem. Individual score should be considered. Why should someone get punished when they carry and lose? Or why should someone get rewarded when they get stomped all game but got carried by their team?

can someone explain the ranking system in ow? only came back, but i see my mates get like +4% progress in plat and lose like 18-20%, like how is it possible that ANY game gives you that low of progression.
If it was consistently +4% per win then they would have to win 25 games in a row just to rank up once? Any way to break this algorithm??

I understand you fragged out but 17% loss im counting the demotion protection as half the percentage. 17% is really not that bad on average its typically like 22% for a win or loss so if anything you got off easy

Im assuming u don't know how volatile works since u got so upset about it. its because ur last loss put u at demotion protection (so it only showed u losing like 4%) meanwhile u have actually already dropped into gold 1, so when u now lose again they update ur rank to be the the equivalent of both losses, even if u lose the same normal amount, the demotion protection system is just bad
and also, no u didnt just gain 4%, u got demotion protection which only showed u losing 4% last time u lost (when u actually like 19%), so now when u win again and go up 19%, they only showed the 4% cus demotion protection
