I really do like Master Raven but classic Wesley Snipes inspired Raven has a special place in my heart. Hopefully, Tekken 8 does him justice again. Can't wait to experience the results of his training.
There would be a ton of stuff to say about T5 Raven: - 2,4 wasn't natural combo, and knocked down only on CH. - ws1 was i13 but -15 ob. - 3,3,4 was h,h,h and non-jail. - f+2 also tracked both ways iirc. - df+3 didn't hi-crush and was unsafe. - bb+2 was launch-punishable and not sabaki. - standing 1+2 was unsafe. BT 1+2 was safe. - db+4 into db+4 and b+3 was guaranteed for 58 damage, plus opponent re-launched(with f+3) if techrolled. Same from quicksand. - ub+1 being f+1 in T5 meant your combos had to have a PRECISE ffN between each jab you wanted to put. Lots of current T8 moves were obviously absent, but a lot of them were actually useless, as for some other characters in T5 roster. Let us not forget that T5 was a hasty product due to Namco's 25th anniversary in 2005.
I remember when TKN 5 came out in 2005 broken by today’s standards eg Steve 1 sidestep and yr dead🤣but this game is still a classic! Raven was a beast coz he was a newcomer!
0:50 Slowing the footage down, the kick looks weird. Like Raven is faking a low kick to go for a roundhouse, yet the game registers the attack as high despite the hit marker being low.
And even with all the good stuff he had, he still wasn’t even top 10. Tekken 5 was definitely a broken game. Also, his hellsweep was still extremely unsafe, even with the lack of stagger (it was literally -41 which is nowhere even close to being safe).
Doesnt really matter if its -25 or -41. He'd get db+4, b+3 (I think?) guarantied. If they teched, the b+3 hits them BT for a guarantied launcher, iirc.
There was frame data on the Tekken Zaibatsu but the website has since become inaccessible. Luckily, it can still be accessed via the wayback machine and you can view frame data that way (it also works for Tekken 4 and Tag 1). I would post a link but UA-cam would flag my comment.
he talked about his 2 2 1 being an intentional re splat as it only re splat once the infinite one is 4~3 3 which is definitely isnt intentional and if you ask me even the 2 2 1 re splat wasnt supposed to do that just probably a mistake in the development
also the 221 re wall splat requires a proper angle and high wall splat or clean wall splat even if you managed to get the re splat you can't get a proper wall combo
Ah yes, wall resplatting. Raven BT b+2,3+4 used to wall resplat too in vanilla tag 2, and people found out they could infinite true ogre and bears. It was one of the few notable things that got patched from vanilla to unlimited.

Raven is so underrated, cool character
He's not really underrated but in the next games he started getting a lot of nerfs
@@gsfovg i mean in terms of appreciation
@@LeiChaobruheverybody wanted him back. he's appreciated enough and even got a bigger boost of hype thanks to his tekken 8 trailer
@@parry3439
Everybody wanted him back but nobody was playing him.
Just like Lei😂
I don't know if Raven will be this insane in Tekken 8, but I'm glad he's back.
And then in DR he was nerfed to oblivion
that's sad
Ah yes my Wesley Snipes's Raven 😎
😎

Have you tried raven in t8? He's capable of some sauce
I'm happy to see him back(not master raven)
strange
@@LeiChaobruhwhy?
@@X0Muhannad0X they're similar characters. And not played much either so I doubt you play them
@@LeiChaobruh i was but really didn't like master raven that much like raven
@@X0Muhannad0X yep and that's strange. why not play your main just because they became a woman
Raven is actually a tekken 4 character confirmed

I see
Now TGO Maven after Lee haha

Excuse me, -41????
Yeah. I’m not 100% certain if -41 is the exact number but the move is very, very, very, very minus.
Doesnt really matter if its -25 or -41.

there's no frame data available for tekken 5 vanilla so ..

One of my mains in tekken 8 along with kazuya and dvj and feng
Tout quoi.
How did you get all these informations ?
He was a good character so there is plenty of infos on him online, especially that he was known for being very cheesy in T5
there's no frame data available for tekken 5 so it's very hard to get info about the characters
but still I try my best to explain all I can
i want you to explain to me how an INFINITE WALL COMBO is intentional
he talked about his 2 2 1 being an intentional re splat as it only re splat once
the infinite one is 4~3 3 which is definitely isnt intentional

can you somehow buffer f,f+3? how do you juggle with that or is this just a skill issue?
if he don't got this damage in t8 ion want em
he actually can do 100 damage with out walls so i can sure you he will have a very strong damage
that's great

What other things were changed? I never hear anybody talk about the vanilla version of Tag 2.
