His son was diagnosed with Addison’s disease and also has the medical bracelet you spoke of. They are both living and thriving as last I know of.
Sadly that isn’t a great solution either. From what I have seen that causes a lot “waiting your turn.” It also causes certain treatment to not be available. You are correct, this needs to be fixed! Healthcare is broken! She had to wait a month. That is beyond sad. How is this ok? Every single person should have access to healthcare no matter what.

Granted, it's a slow cancer and it's sorted now, but I was worried. I don't know if you don't need to wait so much with aggressive cancers. Also, we pick the hospitals and sometimes if we just go to another hospital, we can get an appointment much faster. For MRI, for instance. My husband waited almost a year. But someone told us in a smaller hospital about 50 km from us the waiting time is less than a month... So, it isn't bad, but I'm just saying it isn't perfect. They could, for instance, centralize the information, give the waiting times for different hospitals and clinics. I'm not from here and I had no idea there was such a difference in waiting times. Some diseases aren't covered by the system. Some medicines neither. So, if you have a rare disease, you may have to pay it all out of pocket. I hope your treatment gives you many years of the best possible quality of life.

I am in remission from Cushing's disease due to a pituitary tumor. Fortunately pituitary tumors are rarely malignant, but the disease caused by the tumors is the same. Along with the side effects and many of the treatments. Alot of us with pituitary tumors end up having to get our adrenal glands removed if it comes back or pituitary surgery is unsuccessful. Your high blood pressure is most likely a side effect of the tumor if it's actively producing cortisol, the hydrocortisone can cause it as well. Hydrocortisone is a balancing act. Too little and you feel like death. Too much, and you get the horrible side effects. Word of advice: if you have to inject your solu cortef, after you draw up your dose, twist off the needle of the syringe and put a new one on from an unused syringe. When you push the needle through the rubber stopper it gets dull. Replacing the needle makes it hurt alot less.
