From the much earlier years Fangio was a legend. Then, the 1970s was a fantastic era with Stewart, Fittipaldi and Lauda. The 1980s and early 1990s gave us Prost and Senna. Then, the legendary Schumacher dominated. Later, the legend Hamilton and Vettel. Schumacher and Hamilton were the greatest champions. Senna was the greatest pure drive and died way too soon.

A Record 5x World Titles Took 45 Years To Be Achieved By Anyone Else, But a Record 7x World Titles Took "Only" 16 Years to be Achieved by Anyone Else. In All Formula One History There Has Always Been Great Dominance Of Drivers & Teams, But From 2010~Now It's Amazing How Dominant Are The Drivers / Teams.
@@user-360johnn Schumacher's Ferrari dominance didn't come from major regulation changes. They just evolved/progressed naturally. They started dominating in the middle of an era not right from the start of an era. At the start of the era when Schumacher won 5 titles in a row, McLaren or Williams were the best teams for multiple years. Mercedes' dominance came from the 2014 reg changes, that changed F1 a lot. The new turbo hybrid V6 engines were lobbied by Mercedes & Renault, and it greatly turned out in Merc's favor, since Mercedes had been developing those engines since the late 2000s, while Renault missed the mark big time despite being in favor of it. In 2014, Mercedes' engine was multiple years ahead of the competition. It took Ferrari 4 years to finally catch up to Mercedes' engine quality. Honda didn't catch up until 2021, and Renault never catched up till this day. The token system in introduced alongside the new 2014 engine and aero regs, also ensured that teams would make slow progress, which meant that Mercedes dominance was locked in for years.

From 60s to late 80s the F1 was on its best. Okay cant prove my statement but it seems that there was much much more variation than the dominations we have today by Vettel, Hamilton and Verstappen.
Maybe in 2026. I hope McLaren doesn’t try to become competitive in 2023-2025 so they can really focus on the new era. They shouldn’t waste too much resources because they are just too far off to climb back. This should be the opportunity to hone Piastri and Norris skills and experience. Remember things switch extremely fast with new eras. Hell it’s not crazy to think Haas won’t dominate, you never know… Mercedes went from meh in 2013 to completely crushing the field. Every team really has the potential to dominate in the new era we have to wait and see!

Crazy to think that in the last 15 years only two teams have won!!(yes I do consider brawn as Mercedes) and let’s be honest it’s RedBull this year without a doubt.
Nelson Piquet. GOAT!! Three world titles, two without conquering the constructor's championship. Says a lot about a pilot who wins in spite of not having the best car. Schumacher and Hamilton won one horse races.
E così mi restano i bei ricordi! Like 15393

I remember the year Mario Andretti won the race. He won the championship under caution. He goes by his teammates car on fire later died. Some thing he struggled for all of his life, and couldn’t really celebrate because of his friends death.
A chilling coincidence regarding Andretti's championship. In 1961, Phil Hill was battling his Ferrari teammate, Wolfgang von Trips, for the title. Hill was leading in points, and von Trips was the only one who could potentially overtake him. During the Italian GP at Monza, von Trips was killed after a collision with another car. Hill took the title. In 1978, Mario Andretti was battling his Lotus teammate, Ronnie Peterson, for the title. Andretti was leading in points, and Peterson was the only one who could potentially overtake him. During the Italian GP at Monza, Peterson was in a fatal accident. Andretti took the title. Hill and Andretti are, so far, the only American winners of the WDC. The Italian GP in 1961 and 1978 were both held on September 10. Future WDC Jimmy Clark was driving the car which collided with von Trips. It was a Lotus.
Fangio managed a feat no one else probably ever will. Winning a title with 4 different constructors. No one else managed even 3 and there have been many amazing drivers in their own right that are up there with him… Just imagine if Alonso had won the 2007 championship with McLaren and 2010 or 2012 with Ferrari. senna wouldve swept the 90s until at least 98 in the williams.
94 hill finished 1 point off and 96, 97 were both easy titles for williams. best case scenario mclaren might have went for him over mika too, he couldve even gotten 98, 99, 00? age wouldve been getting to him at that point though.
then again he might have just retired. its an interesting alternate universe to imagine. sadly we will never know.
Schumacher's 5 in a row is flipping crazy! I hope he is improving after that skiing accident!

Update: most likely 4th time
Even though it’s safe to assume that max is going to be the front runner for the third year in a row, I have hope that this season will at least be more challenging and provide more excitement in the fight for the title. If we can have two people or more consistently battling it out, then we’ll be in for an entertaining year
Hopefully checo competes with max all year

Watch the video of Vettel listing all of these champions by year from memory. That was impressive.
Some tremendous drivers there, and some who never got there due to dying trying. Gilles Villenueve is one that comes to mind. Some wouldve had many more than they did, but died young. Great champions one and all. Nicki Lauda once said James Hunt was the one driver he respected the most, and was sometimes intimidated by.....

Michael Schumacher = eternal GOAT
From the much earlier years Fangio was a legend. Then, the 1970s was a fantastic era with Stewart, Fittipaldi and Lauda. The 1980s and early 1990s gave us Prost and Senna. Then, the legendary Schumacher dominated. Later, the legend Hamilton and Vettel.
Schumacher and Hamilton were the greatest champions. Senna was the greatest pure drive and died way too soon.
Fangio 5 títulos... en 4 autos diferentes, maestro!!!!
I was born watching F1. Before football. My Family were crazy about it. Although, after the Senna’s death, this sport became a kind of grief and sadness for the most.
However, I still appreciate a lot. Art and overcoming. And of course a place to test lot of technology.
British teams won a staggering 20 consecutive drivers' championships between 1980 and 1999 but only two were won by British drivers (Nigel Mansell in 1992 and Damon Hill in 1996).
That's what happens when big rule changes don't happen frequently anymore.
Also the 2014 regulations were basically tailored for Merc to dominate.
@@ey1615care to explain how? You mean to say Ferrari and Red Bull were disadvantaged? How is it any different then Scumachers time with Ferrari
@@user-360johnn
Schumacher's Ferrari dominance didn't come from major regulation changes.
@@ey1615 Some teams will always win or lose with major rule or regulation changes, it just depends on how they have prepared or developed a part or car for the rule changes. With this generation of car, it would appear that Red Bull and Ferrari won, while Mercedes lost.
@@can_opener755 Mercedes went for their own unique aero and chasis philosophy 2 years in a row when they could have gone a more conventional road like the other teams.
Very good video, some of the best drivers that never became F1 World Champions are Stirling Moss and Gilles villeneuve ,Dan Gurney,Jacky Iycx,Ronnie Peterson ,and there doubtless several more that could be added to the list, enjoyed the video.
Yeah like Von Trips, Kubica, Coulthard, Montoya, Alesi, Berger, Reutemann and Massa.
Riccardo too. Nicest bloke on the planet but won't ever win an F1 title
Бергер, Монтойя, Алези
I made some videos about Peterson, villeneuve fangio etc of overtaking and driving scenes. just if u are interested. i dont want to annoy anyone.
They're not the best drivers because if you didn't win, you lost.

And the only driver to tell Enzo to **** off and as you say build his own car instead , with purpose of rubbing Italian noses in it. Legend.
From 60s to late 80s the F1 was on its best. Okay cant prove my statement but it seems that there was much much more variation than the dominations we have today by Vettel, Hamilton and Verstappen.

Britain has an amazing driver record as well as the amazing technology.
It would be sick to see red or orange back at the top
Red from Alfa Romeo, back from the first 2 seasons ever
Maybe in 2026. I hope McLaren doesn’t try to become competitive in 2023-2025 so they can really focus on the new era. They shouldn’t waste too much resources because they are just too far off to climb back. This should be the opportunity to hone Piastri and Norris skills and experience.
Remember things switch extremely fast with new eras. Hell it’s not crazy to think Haas won’t dominate, you never know…
Mercedes went from meh in 2013 to completely crushing the field. Every team really has the potential to dominate in the new era we have to wait and see!

I "like" how we see that the more the sport gets regulated over the last 2-3 decades the more you see the same champion several years in a row.
There is a pattern to this in real life politics & economics too.
Fangio?
@@alexfarman4580 he won with 4 different teams, whereas the same champions the past decade or two have been with the same team

20s - Verstappen
More like 90s: Schumacher and Hakkinen
00s: Schumacher and Alonso
early 10s: Vettel
late 10s: Hamilton
@sadsadsa asadasd i mean sure but alonso’s race craft was far superior
@sadsadsa asadasd Kimi was the most overrated driver of his generation. Massa was slightly better than him in their time as teammates, Alonso and Vettel absolutely demolished him. To argue Kimi was better than Alonso when Alonso scored 3x as many points in the same car is madness. People make all sorts of excuses for Kimi "the car didn't suit him" or "he didn't care it was a hobby for him" etc. maybe he was just never really that good and was flattered by Newey-designed McLarens?
Senna The best

Crazy to think that in the last 15 years only two teams have won!!(yes I do consider brawn as Mercedes) and let’s be honest it’s RedBull this year without a doubt.
thats what happens when the sport is made increasingly homogenic with increasingly strict regulations

Dominant car + faster but much less lucky teammate
But still impressive for his age nonetheless
The TAG Porsche engine was the best until Honda took over
He didn't beat Prost once in a direct fight
Nelson Piquet. GOAT!! Three world titles, two without conquering the constructor's championship. Says a lot about a pilot who wins in spite of not having the best car. Schumacher and Hamilton won one horse races.
Айртон Сенна- навсегда❤
Lauda, Senna, Prost, Hunt, Schumacher some of the best

E così mi restano i bei ricordi! Like 15393
Nelson Piquet is the most underrated triple world champion!

When the red baron was on his prime, he was unstoppable. Schumi is a legendary racer, no one could be compared to him.
