Signs and symptoms of canine parvovirus include the following:
1. Bloody diarrhea (often severe)
2. Fever.
3. Lethargy (lack of energy)
4. Loss of appetite.
5. Malaise (discomfort associated with illness)
6. Rapid weight loss.
7. Vomiting.
Newborn puppies receive antibodies from their mothers that help provide immunity, but immunity to CPV wears off before the puppies' immune systems are developed enough to destroy the virus and fight off infection.
Dogs in pet stores, animal shelters, and breeding kennels also are at increased risk. Overcrowding and poor sanitary conditions make it easier for the virus to spread. Certain breeds of dog (e.g., English springer spaniels, rottweilers, Doberman pinschers) and dogs that have another health condition may have a higher risk for developing severe disease.

I want to share a story with you guys related to Parvo. I have a Pitbull. She suffered from parvo and it was the worse time of my life. She suffered from parvo because of my laziness. I ignored and didn't get her vaccinated for the parvo. And one day she started showing the signs of parvo and I had no idea that something like this even exists. She started to stop eating and started to throw up anything which we made her eat. And she started to vomit and stopped eating completely. And once she started pooping with blood and the smell was unbearable. I took her to the doctor and after some tests it was confirmed that she got Parvo.
The reason I am sharing my experience with you guys is that I gave up on her and I lost all my hope during the treatment that she will survive. What I've learned is that you'll have to believe in the fact that your dog will survive and you'll have to show you that you believe in him. The key to survival is the basic treatment. You'll have to carry on the basic treatment for up to 10-15 days continuously. And forget serum. It is not necessary that your dog will survive if you give the dog serum treatment, it is extremely expensive and guarantee nothing. And this is what my doctor told me. You'll have to make sure that your dog is hydrated and getting the IV fluids to compensate for the lack of food. Believe in your pet and keep up the basic Saline and IV fluids treatment. Keep checking the temperature of the pet. It will go up and down all the time. Don't lose hope. And keep trying.
I am happy to share this with you guys that my Cookie(Pitbull) is pulled through and is healthy now. And believe me, she suffered from the worst kind of Parvo. If she can make it, your dog can make it too. Give all the love and support to your pet in this situation and DO NOT STOP the basic treatment. And you'll see the result.

My elder brother is a MBBS doctor, during his time of internship we had a Perih in our house around 1yr 4 month old non vaccinated and unfortunately dog got blood vomit, along with several red stool and extreme weakness for 3-4 days. Few local veterinarians we visited,but unfortunately they all refused to treat and touch even as because the dog didn't received any vaccination. My father requested my brother to treat this condition and he somehow diagnosed that it is a case of parvovirus infection in dog and he decided to treat although he was not knowledgeable with the proper treatment for the dogs . My brother treated the drug with metronidazole, cefaxone and normal saline and ringer lactate solution making IV line to his leg. After 2 days of treatment the dog barked for the first time after 7 days , we got very happy and eventually the dog recovered.😀

I have 2 dogs one is shih tzu & Pomeranian, They both got parvo when thy were just 4 months old! BEST TREATMENT IS TO KEEP THEM HYDRATED AND TAKE THEM TO VET IMMEDIATELY WHO WILL KEEP THEM ON DRIP! One just need to give strength to ur dog to fight parvo, It is one of the most deadliest disease please observe ur puppies very carefully if they are not eating or they are on diahria. I managed to save both of them as I kept them hydrated by giving them glucose water & in next day only I took them to vet who put them on drip for 7 days...They both both like 50% body weight but they survive

Its really sad news bro...i also lost my German Shepherd dog due to this infection....My doctor (GADVSU Ludhiana) told me that parvo can be alive for 6 month in the home.so he recommended me that I have to wait for 6 to 7 month to adopt a new dog for the same home and they also told me that I have to replace the all things which was I used for infected DOG like Chain,bed ,etc.....
