Do you have a link to any of the replacement parts you ordered? Specifically pertaining to the carbeurator rebuild. The owners manual was lost way before my time so I’m not sure where to find any model numbers
Check out www.marineengine.com and you can search by hp to find the correct parts you need. They have detailed drawings of what your carbs look like and just about everything else.
My friends got a similar motor but it has an air filter box on it. It cracked and they say it won’t run right anymore. Can this motor run without the air box?
Bebe’s Life… I would say it should run without it. Air boxes are not filters…. They typically just reduce noise and protect the carb from water or objects getting in. If the motor doesn’t run then you need to start at the basics…. Compression, spark and fuel. If it has good compression and spark then the problem is in the fuel system. Carb, fuel lines or fittings, fuel pump etc…
By chance do you know if this carb from a 90 6hp would be compatible with an 86? I need to replace mine on my 86 but can't find it anywhere only difference it seems is the choke but wondering if the important stuff eg cam roller etc is in same location
@Noel Magouirk The spring tension is going to unwind when you remove it from the motor. I don’t think it’s a problem just follow the method to reinstall it in part three when rewinding the spring.
What happened to you describing what you were doing for the carb rebuild?? Post another one of just the carb rebuild section with works ing at regular speed for more views. Thanks
Waterside Team at Coldwell Banker….This video shows over 30 minutes of the complete tear down, cleaning and reassembly of the carb. Part 3 shows the motor running in my test tank.
it wouldve been nice to hear you speaking on what you were doing and how you were doing it rather than the music playing. I came here for instructions on how to do it, not just watch you do it. Just sayin.
Nice work watched the whole video

Michael Jones …. I couldn’t say without having the model numbers from both motors. Thanks for watching and commenting.
How come in the video you do not show how you removed the starter rewinder?
Noel Magouirk…. Sorry but I lost that footage when my camera battery died.
I need to replace my rewinder and that's the part I need I just want to make sure nothing's going to go flying when I take it apart

@@LivetofishOutboardRepair that's when you have to wind it 16 times right
Noel Magouirk…. Correct

Lots of just your hand or completely off the screen. About a 3 out of 10. Music was torture too. Keep practicing.
Thanks for your input. I’ll do better

Ok thanks for the tip. I'll do better next time.
