I just found your videos (first and second honey extraction) and I love them. You sure do have a lot invested in your setup, but you also have put a lot of work and thought into it. Nicely done sir. Best wishes for continued success.
Hello and thanks for watchin my video. Your absolutely right about the pre filter. The press works really good but not for the amount of cappings coming from the chain uncapper. Maybe someday will get a separator. God bless and thanks for watchin
I like the modification almost as much as the equipment.😁Oh I like that uncapper I really like your operation, gives me ideas for the future. 👍Thank you for sharing your time.
Great video from a fellow Kentuckian! I'm in Breckinridge County, about 70 miles SW of Lousiville. I just did my first extraction this week. Had 42 medium frames I processed and got about 130-140 lbs. Look forward to your next video!
I have a similar set up. The filter bags I did a eye bolt to the ceiling. Ran down a ratchet straps, so it’s a adjustable height. Then I used a finger clamp to hold the filter back to the ratchet strap hook.
That sounds like a good idea. I used to to use those stainless steel seives, but they cant keep up with the extractors. I really like the bags.thanks for watching and god bless
Always have help when my wife is able. I pulled those 26 deeps then she fell and shattered her wrist so was a crazy time for me in the honey house.thanks for watching and god bless
Ha enjoyed the video I got 20 gal I am in Virginia. You did good and I am glad for you. I have a hillco as well she is great first time using her this year. Hope u have a blessed week.
Last year i only got 46 gallon total.ive been very blessed this year.ive pulled 123 gallon and still have 49 supers on .thanks for watchin and god bless
Hello I just found your video an enjoyable content. I have been trying to find a press but they all look small . Can you put the information on it on here if you remember it . Ya my idea was to do all the capping after I get done with the extraction because I knew it was going to be a slower job . In your frame’s getting clogged up in your uncapper it would be nice to have a table in between your boxes of frames an your uncapping set up to use to clean up the frames but that would just be another step to add to your routine. I am in the middle of building me another bigger bee building . I was noticing your doors you have in there an I Like the looks of them . What is that just plywood with 2x4 design on them ??. Thanks it looks like you had a pretty fair season. Thanks
The press just cant keep up with the amount of cappings coming from the uncapper . My last extraction i put the uncapping tank underneath the uncapper . It took a couple of days for the cappings to drain but it made it a lot simpler.the doors are just plywood ,would really like to have insulated double doors with windows in them . Maybe one of these days thanks for watching and god bless
Thats great.really lovin my bee season this year.last year was close to a flop.this is my fourth season so im pretty new myself .i enjoy the bees and learn something new every day.thanks so much for watching and god bless love to hear about your bees sometime
Good stuff man. I really line your set up and the rack for draining our filters. We have talked about doing that but have continued to do it my hand. Maybe we can get something rigged up by next year.
Hey bruce i think that bag holder is gonna be a permanent fixture in my process.seen your video the other day.great honey harvest. Loved your video and thanks for watching mine. God bless
Kellar, that was a lot of honey to extract by yourself. It sounds like you’re having a good production flow this season. I’m near B’ham and it’s nothing compared to last year! Before you told me you were in central KY, what’s the closest town to you? I lived in Corbin back in the mid 80s. I have a lot of family in that area. How many colonies do you normally run? I hope you have a good 3rd pull!
Hey thanks for watching. I live in the cynthiana area of kentucky. Ive got 26 colonies in production this year. I have 42 colonies right now, and yes , that was alot of honey to extract by myself . My wife always helps , but she fell and shattered her wrist last week so im on my own this year..thanks for watching and god bless
Was thinking if you made 2 bags that go into the 2x tubs the cappings could go directly into from the uncapper. Would save you having the job of scrapping those tubs out? Looking good!
The next extraction video i put an uncapping tank under the chain uncapper and let the capping drain in there. It took a couple days to drain out but was a lot easier. Thanks for the comments and for watching . God nless
Hello, great video, very nice setup. Can you tell me where you purchased the press from? I'm looking for something like that. Also, will you be doing another honey pull this year?
Hello i purchased the apple press at pleasant hill grain co. I tried to video my 3rd pull but didnt get much video. But gonna try to scape together a video and at least show a little and do a final tally for my season. Thanks for watching ,hopefully be out soon
I was just wondering why some people do deeps too. I don’t really see any advantages doing deeps, it’s more heavier to handle and harder on the back. Having ur ultra max would you recommend that one or just a mini max 9 frame? I’m only doing just medium supers
It all depends on how many hives you have and also how many hives you plan to have in the future . Always buy one big enough for your future plans.and the deep boxes are very heavy and not at all pleasant to beekeep with .i have a lifter i built to help pick them up.thanks for the interest and any more questions please ask . I enjoy the conversation. Thanks
I’m not sure how many hives I want, it always ends up more, but probably around 15. All the other ones I catch I’ll try to sell. I don’t know if ultra max or just mini max will be just fine. Is there anything you don’t like about the extractor?
The mini max would be fine for 15 hives.theres no negetive comments on the hillco extractors.i searched for a good extractor for 4 years while using the vivo extractors i bought first.they are good for what they cost but i wanted a bigger extractor. Hillco has beaten everyone on price and the warranty is outstanding. John loves to talk and is glad to answer any questions you might have. Give him a call
What made you get the ultra max instead of the maxi max? For about how many hives would u recommend the mini max for? I’m trying to decide which would be a better choice
I have 33 colonies and plan to grow more . I love this ultramax .you cant go wrong with any hillco extractor . Theit the only ones ive seen in 5 years that has a warranty and the best costomer service you can imagine . How many hives do you currently have and how many are you planning to get to. Dont buy the smaller one if you plan to get bigger than 12 to 15 hives.
Great setup you have there. I’ve only ever sieved honey before letting it settle. 2 sieves first one quite coarse, second one is a lot finer (but usually ‘blinds itself after about 20kg (40 lb) of honey, so it’s a bit of a pain). I’d never thought of adding the bags in the containers & hanging them up, what type of material is it? Thanks for spending time to share, hope you have a great year! 3rd Year bee keeping for me & still learning loads. John in the UK
Yes i have a few of the metal seives ,but they cant keep up with the extractors.the strainer bags i use are 200 micron paint strainer bags get them on Amazon thanks for watching
Hi there How long do you keep the extractor running when you fill it with frames? 5 minutes or more? I am in Ireland and very new to beekeeping. You are very resourceful
It really depends on how thick the honey is and how well i get the frames balanced.the more wobble , the longer it takes.i would guess about 20 minutes. Hope that helps thanks for watching and god bless
You are doing an awesome job!!!😊
Thanks for that . Im trying hard thanks for watching it means alot.god bless
What a relaxing channel! As a Brit your voice is good for anxiety. Peace bro 😎
thanks bud ,just an old country hillbilly here.thanks for watchin and god bless

Just got the math done in my head and that was a really good pull for that number of frames good job
Nice video. New sub, bro. Im getting ready to extraxt in a few weeks. The feet were nothing to worry about. God bless you.
Thanks alot know it was agrivating i know it was for me .thanks for watching ,god bless
Good luck with the extracting.its what weve been working for all year.hard work but i love it

Just wanted to say the press does work wanderfully .just takes to much time for the honey to drain from the cappings.
nice setup, I put a bracket between the extractor and the wall that helped with the stability of the spinner.
That sounds like a good idea.thanks for watching
How long you have you had bees. I'm realy fascinated with the process. Love the bees.❤❤❤
This is my fourth season . I really love my bees. Work in them every day about.thanks for watching and god bless
Awesome love you videos I am in eastern Kentucky 1 st yr bee keeper have 3 hives got to extract my 1 st supper got 20 lb from it ❤

Yes bolt them all down.
Curious if you thought about putting the bags in one of the spinners and spinning it out. Not sure if that would work or not.
Be hard to get it balanced i would think but definitely crossed my mind also. Thanks for watching annd god bless
You need to get a Maxant wax spinner under that chain decapper
That would absolutely be awesome. But not in the budget thanks for watching and god bless

Farmers markets and friends and family
Dont sell wholesale. Thanks for watching
