Astra Pros: 1.Very 1st "Agent" Healer (Avacooboo has a friend now?) 2.Element Rarity: Ether is the rarest element in the game only 2 released since Launch. 3. Longevity: Astra's a SUPPORT in 85% of gachas Supports & Utility units = power creep immunity
I actually think her heals will be her undoing when later on we'll get 5 star supports without any heals but with stronger buffs people will throw her in the trash.
I’m getting both! Need all that chain attack and quick assist play style! Also I have no fire team dps so I’m suffering a bit but I’ve been using Koleda/Lucy/Myiabi to get okay clears.
So far I have 131 pulls saved plus 46 pity (177 effective pulls). With the additional polychromes from 1.5 I’m almost guaranteed to get both. Getting their signatures will depend on how lucky my pulls go
First patch where I’m not skipping on either of the new characters! I personally like Astra more, but Evelyn will slot in nicely as my primary fire DPS.
Good supports last years. Good dps typically last less than a year in most gacha meta. Good supports can make mediocre DPS amazing. Pulling for her is like upgrading all of your existing damage dealers. And making them last longer. As much as I love Evelyn's design, I just can't pull for her over an excellent support.
What makes astra yao a fun unit is no because of her healing but her quick assist feature (based on official footage) which makes the quickswap meta more fun. Evelynn's free chain attack trigger makes her fun to play as well. Although I wished the future units can do 100% attribute dmg.
Im trying to get both. I think if I can save up 160-180 pulls (guaranteed character) before the patch starts then I can probably get both. I’d have to be really unlucky to lose 3 5050s late in a row. I lost Miyabi 5050 and it took 170 pulls total to get her. I currently have 141 pulls. If I win astras 5050 or lose/win early then that will be a relief.
To me to if I decide to pull I will pull for Evelyn, I don't find astra is worth it since I have M6 Nicole plus Nicole can group enemies and reduce their Defense. but I may skip whole 1.5 banners and wait for virtual idols or another void hunter specially that mercenary leader with pink hair.
Yeah Nicole is definitely still good to use if you don’t want to get Astra. I never got Caesar personally so Astra’s a great grab for me to help me through things like Tower and stuff
Not quite sure who to choose between Evelyn and Astra. I like Astra but Evelyn is way too cool man. But I already have Soldier 11 and I'm missing a support like Caesar or Astra so I might go for Astra this coming patch.
I love Astra, and I don't like Nicole's playstyle. Evelyn looks & plays cool, but I'm saving for Hugo and Jane mindscapes. I'm not super convinced about Eve. Plus, I kinda want to know more about Soldier 11 first before I powercreep her lmao. I have her built and been playing her with Lighter.
Astra's an obvious pick for me because she'll fit Miyabi teams, Zhu Yuan teams, & Harumasa teams. No matter if ZZZ releases 2 other more broken Supports, Astra will still have a place.
i mean Astra Yao has it all, she can buff and increase team damage and she can also heal, if you pair her with Caesar and Jane the team would be an unkillable comp that can also dish massive damage.
Miyabi and Rhena are my goats. I don’t have another S tier anamoly character that isn’t Grace, and Lyacon is my best stun unit, so I need these characters BADLY
Might just get Qingyi's m1 for phase 2. My S11 is m2 rn and she's doing just fine. I run her w starlight engine which might work well w Astra on team plus with Caesar i dont think she's gonna suffer much lol. I might try my luck on Evelyn if I get an Early but base on my recent luck(this banner) i dont think id get one(tried hitting m2 Miyabi lost both 5050 💀)
Lighter took everything and all he left was Neko's M1. Miya was an easy skip so I've saved up 16K Poly and like 20something records. Now it's down to whether I chance the early guarantee on Astra or just wait for Eve. I'm thinking just wait for Eve. But if you've got no real preference, Astra's just better in general since she's a Support.
But you could get both, it's literally impossible to skip Eve for Astra, Astra's banner comes first. If anything you'd be skipping Eve for whatever comes next. I'mma try to get them both.

Its only 1.4, I'd rather wait for her rerun to see how she holds up. I dont really "need" a support. However, I need a fire DPS. Also, Evelyn jiggle is unmatched
She was introduced in 1.1. In the first rerun, we'll have Ellen (1.0) and Qingyi (1.1). My hope is that she'll have her rerun in 1.6, maybe with Zhu Yuan, who was introduced in 1.0. But we don't know it yet. Let's hope. I'm also waiting for her. ✋️
Jane was a smart skip as well. These are dps units with easy replacements. Im still pulling Evelyn just because she's cooler but that's on my heart not my brain
Man, this video is so upsetting because it’s got me hyped for a character I know I don’t have the chromes to pull. You said your comparisons were out of left field, but even as an outsider to those genres, I think all of the references really land and build up hype in a fun way. I’m just gonna cope by saying that her jacket’s my favorite part of her model in her animations, so her install removing that, plus my love of Solider 11, means that I don’t need her. But the potential this character has for amazing dynamic skins is something else

Team build with Astra seem to make you to play around with quick assist. I doubt that will give full benefit to the team that focus on only 1 DPS. To be straight to the point, will she make a good team with our S11? S11/-?-/astra, beside Lighter in that slot, who else do you think will fit in for the full benefit?
Since we don’t have any of Soldier’s faction characters yet you basically want any fire character in that slot. Lighter is probably bis but if you don’t have Lighter or want to try someone else you might actually try Ben, maybe on an impact build, since he can do a reasonable impression of a stunner. Trying double support with Lucy might also be interesting as between Lucy and Astra you could be doing some crazy buffing. Burnice’s additional ability wouldn’t be active but if you have her well-built she should still be pretty good and she’s so powerful she might actually be the next best option after Lighter, not sure.

I have to say I disagree with the not power creeping ceasr part. Shes a healer with a biger atk buff that is teamwide and she enables chain attacks which I think are the best decible generators in a charters kit. She does everything ceasar does as good or better and has more. cesar is a dead character now and I struggle to see how any shielder will be relevant in a 3 person team now that a healer is in the game. I wish she had the same kit but with no healing butthats just me.
I mean for starters her healing is in her ulti. Caesar shield is on her EX skill. A shield is preventive while a heal is restorative wich doesnt help for shit if an agent is already down for some reason. Caesar has also an enemy debuff and a pull. On top of being a pseudo stunner Did i forget something? Oh yes, Caesars shield prevents knock backs.
She doesn’t power creep Caesar because their support capabilities cover different things. They provide similar buffs but Caesar Shield lasts an entire encounter while Astra heals are only from her ult. Can’t even really call Astra a healer since it’s not consistent healing is something that honestly is going to happen maybe one time during an encounter. Caesar also allows different team compositions the Astra can’t cover due to their Additional Abilities so Caesar isn’t going anywhere. She will still be a top 2 Support unit in the game.
I really wanted to skip her and just get Evelyn due to still having many agents to build lol but seems like I may have to make a big boy purchase for this patch 😂🥲
