    You can't really talk about precision reloading without taking about inline dies and arbor presses. For my money there's nothing better than the lineup from 21st Century Shooting. They offer the Hydro Seater which is hands down the best seater out there as well as their standard arbor press which is great for taking on the road to push back bullets as needed.

    if you order one of them presses expect to wait 12 weeks to get it

      True, but in all fairness that's nearly anything in the reloading world right now. Under normal circumstances (pre-covid) they shipped the next day.

      @@FClassJohn I just received mine Friday.. Great things are worth waiting for. Now I need to just learn to feel for it and be patient, and slow the process down. Thanks John.

    John, I have a 650 on my bench, and was planning to purchase a Forster Coax for PRS (308, 6 Creed)... love the mechanics... could I use the 650 for brass prep and the arbor press for seating? Makes the bench easier to managed... but would I be disadvantaged over a complete Coax system? Thanks for the help!

      I used to have a 650 and at the time used it to prep .308 brass mainly for fun and not precision. It wasn’t bad but to maximize it you would need to create a tool head that can be screwed down such as the Whidden tool head and then you need floating die rings like Uniquetech. I’m sure it can be done I just see more guys using the 550 for thet purpose but it can probably be done on a 650 with a little diligence.

    Trying to decide between an arbor vs a coax for precision seating. If I went arbor and didn’t need the smaller frame for traveling is the hydro honestly worth it or do you find the gauge something you verify with?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 роки тому +1

      Both an arbor and co-ax can deliver great accuracy. As for the hydro, most would agree it's nice to know if something seats weird so they can cull it out for a sighter or blow off round just to be safe. The gauge also helps flush out potential issues in your brass prep.

      @@FClassJohn I think I’m going to get the hydro to seat and coax for sizing.

    do you not use the little base that comes with the die when your seating your bullets

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  3 роки тому

      Honestly sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. I’ve never found it really matters. That base is really just designed for decapping.

    What concentricity is achievable with this setup? I'm able to get 1- 2 thousants on a single stage. Is it worth upgrading?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 роки тому +1

      That’s not why I’d upgrade. You’d upgrade mostly because you want to use inline dies for the benefits which may include better runout although you’re getting good runout already plus runout is overrated so don’t sweat it too much. In line does allow loading at the range easier and also for typically more consistent seating depths. That’s all.

    Still think the 21st is superior to the K&M?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  Рік тому +2

      On a reloading bench I think you'd still find it to be a little smother because of the fulcrum motion and length of handle on the hydrometer and most people would still agree the liquid dial is a little more consistent than a spring but you do pay for it so make sure that's something that really matters to you compared to the force pack K&M. However, I'm mainly using an arbor press for traveling which make the 21st impractical so in that case the K&M is more functional for a number of reasons.

    John: Is it possible to load accurate ammo on a Dillon press for F-class?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  Рік тому +1

      Absolutely. I did a bunch of videos if you search my channel for ‘Dillon’ showing how I loaded accurate ammo on a 555 and 750 with an Autodrive.
