Hey Marco or "Dvorak". Just wanted to say im enjoying meeting you for the second time in genshin about music again xD ps. You sound way younger and muffled again😂
I mean, Xenoblade is a compositional fractal, where every time they make a new game, they add a couple new composers to the mix. If you check Ultimate Enemy, that one is by Yutaka Kunigo (which before was just part of Monolith Soft as an audio engineer, IIRC). Just to say, Procyon just uses the fact that, even in its music, Xenoblade Chronicles is all about abundance of content.
@@VncentValntine Mitsuda might have had some control, but Hiramatsu had been there before Mitsuda in the series, and has been a really big prolific composer. We should not negate his value.
I knew my Xenoblade senses were tingling for a reason today (yes my pfp is Shulk, not Thoma) Also at 3:17 the electro guitar ramps up for a good reason. Xenoblade 1 has a song called Mechanical Rhythm which is electro guitar heavy & here in New Battle!!! it even recites same riffs as Mechanical Rhythm at 3:24 Monolithsoft catters to their fans in the best ways possible in not just the music alone. The entire Future Redeemed dlc is the culmination of a trilogy for over a decade. Hence, why Mechanical Rhythm makes a cameo appearance Bonus Fact: There's a superboss in Future Redeemed where New Battle!!! plays rather than You Will Know Our Names. Monolith knows how players often finish battles in less than a minute by the time they're leveled to the max, leaving little room for music. So they gave us a challenging fight as a means to test our strenght & listening to New Battle!!! for a good minute or 3
Adding on to what you wrote, in the physical release of the official soundtrack for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, there was some information that stated that the song Still, Move Forward! from Xenoblade 2 was referenced in the song too (which I think is fitting because to me both songs are similar in a couple ways). Admittedly though, I haven't been able to notice where the reference is in New Battle!!!
@@corrinflakes9659 i was asked if my pfp was thoma once, so i made it a disclaimer here. give credit to hoyo drawing from Xenoblade rather than BOTW is crazy, sounds like too mich credit lol
HONEY WAKE UP NEW MARCO XENOBLADE VIDEO!!! All jokes aside i was so excited to see u make a vid on this song. I saw in the description u may play xenoblade soon and i hope u do because its such an unforgetable journey through the games BUT! There is this song in xenoblade 2 called Drifting Soul, its a really sad song but also beautiful and its implied about certain characters throughout xenoblade 2. In xenoblade 3 there is this battle theme for a character called kaledoscopic Core (idk if i spelled it right) and it uses motif's (i think thats the right word where it just uses similar tunes basically) as drifting souls but turns it into a sad song into a really empowering courages kind of song. Honestly if you ever do play xenoblade u will find it but still Drifting Souls and Kaledoscopic Core you should check out one day cause they go hand in hand
Xenoblade's soundtracks are top tier. Maybe the best I've heard from all the games I've played. Hope you get to play xenoblade 3 and Future Redeemed soon. That being said, battle themes are some of the specialty music of xenoblade because of how each song is a banger.
A bit late to the party, but to me this song sounds like absolute confidence. The main cast are literally professionals in the "saving the world" business and this battle theme shows. They are so in control that they can afford having some fun.
you know, I don't want to be that guy, but... the track's name actually has three exclamation marks. 🤓 yeah, it's a minor detail, but Xenoblade 1's main battle theme was "Battle!" in japanese, or "Time to Fight!" in the localized album version, then Xenoblade 2's was "Battle!!" with two exclamation marks, and we didn't get the battle theme of Xenoblade 3 to have three exclamation marks, but now its DLC, Future Redeemed (A New Future in japanese), has them, so that's a nice easter egg. That's it for your your trivia of the day. I'm really looking forward to you experiencing one of if not THE best track of Xeno as a whole. I freaking love this song. Clapping hands in music makes anything way better than it should be, and you can't prove me wrong. Also, Future Redeemed may be DLC, but it's still Game of the Century, play xenoblade, all of you.
Xenoblade music is just SO GOOD, but XC3 especially is incredible. The track "Rest Spot" was the first time a piece of videogame music ever actually gave me pause. Spent seven whole minutes just listening to it.....and it's just the camping theme....😆
Optimistic is really a good word for this theme. Gives me the same happy vibes as the one from the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna dlc. And of course you going absolutely apeshit is always a highlight of your reactions xD
"Bonjour" from France. This music put me always a good mood. Thanks for your react :) I hope, one day, we can listen to xenoblade ost in a orchestra concert.
I've seen you mention about how battle themes can sound happy and I'm immediately reminded of Sophisticated Fight from Trails in the Sky. That one also caught my attention like this one for being a cheerful battle theme as well
there isn't a single ost in that dlc that isn't incredible. to borrow the worlds of a character from the series:"THIS IS THE CULMINATION OF YEARS OF TRAINING!"
I like that you uploaded this because I was just listening to it before i saw this video and its a song I really enjoy listening to. If it interests you, the song has an ending that can be heard in the official soundtrack version at the end of the 2nd loop that's pretty neat. There should be some uploads with it on UA-cam if you want to check it out.
Whats so funny about the melody at 2:16 is that I have always sworn since it came out that this sounds like a telenovela opening. Its funny to see what sources composers will take from when re-inventing genres (here its an obvious latin influence) but because of my own background hearing that specific lick made me think "what is this, one of my dad's telenovelas?" I feel like I have heard that specific instrumentation doing that specific lick so many times in my life and its not the first time a japanese composer has jumpscared me with a clip of music that is nearly 1:1 with something that had no correlation to what I was playing. Not even the first time xenoblade has done that to me
This one is special Marco because despite it being a prequel that literally cant end in a full defeat of the bbeg- it instills hope that the party triumphs somehow REGARDLESS of no one knowing the full story (cept the players obv)
They went so hard for the dlc, presumably after losing music awards. I'd recommend the cent-omnia region's day theme, as well as the final boss theme, you'll enjoy both of those.
Oh wow! Please, do more Xenoblade stuff. These games soundtrack got me into symphonic/operatic video game music, and really set the bar for what video game music could be. Gormott Day would be good to see you do if you haven't already.

One thing that I immediately notice and love about New Battle!! and the XC3 DLC is SPOILERS FOR A LOT OF XENOBLADE 3 The main game follows the journey of our protagonists learning how to understand life in a world that denies them even the concept of life as we understand it. There’s plenty of lighthearted moments, sure, but the world itself is overall a bleak place where people are born just to kill. There’s no community, no history, the world is in ruins and no one even realizes it. Many of the areas you walk through use very somber and ambient music instead of catchy songs like Mor Ardain or Gaur Plain. Now fast forward to the DLC. You’re playing as someone who wasn’t born just to kill, someone who’s still facing hardship in the world but has also experienced a real kind of life. Who knows what he’s fighting for and has a clear sense of purpose from the start. Who teams up with legendary heroes from the past games and helps to foster a large community in a familiar town. All the feelings you can get from that can be felt in this battle theme as it introduces you to the DLC with a confident excitement, immediately telling you “this is gonna be different”. It’s the same world as the base game, but a totally different point of view. The contrast between that feeling and base XC3 is just awesome, and each serves to highlight the importance of the other.
