It's a great thing when music matches the meaning of the lyrics. It's like the sound of this song matches how God feels about proud lies in this world. It glorifies God and shows these guys are true artists, it brings comfort in a unique way.

Dude I jammed this all through high school too. Saw them at the Nile Theater in Mesa AZ. So dope. They were awesome. I got my nose broken by his Bass guitar moshing to this very song. The rest of the song was not in tune but he made it work. Hahah

Wow, I remember listening to this band in the late '90s when they played at Vino's in downtown Little Rock. Their live shows are intense, even in a small venue.

One word of advice is if you are christian and like metal, DO NOT limit yourself to only christian metal cuz there is a lot out there that you are not experiencing!

I can’t recall what year it was, but I remember hearing they headlined the Cornerstone Festival in Illinois (?) I think it was. I can’t even imagine the crowd and how wild it must have been. Massive crowd of fellow believers and also people looking for something deeper, all one family together under the lord, slam dancing to this.
reborn is rated one of the best metal cds of all time man. ls is one of the best live shows u will ever see. i seen them four times. the best show was when reborn just came out and truby was still in the band. however, rocky does a killler job too.

I don't get it either) that played on the local AR public radio station. I used to listen to it all the time, and they played this track to promote Reborn when it came out. Pretty sick opening. I'm not usually into metal core but this is definitely at the heavier/more dissonant end. Crazy to hear it again almost 30 years later!!
This band was one of the first to pioneer melodic metalcore BEFORE it's time. I listened to this in 2000 when I was 13 years old, I believe they came out with this album 1997. Bleeding Through was the next band, then Between the Buried and Me and The Black Dahlia Murder, Pig Destroyer, Luddite Clone, Into the Moat, you get the picture.

Certainly you would have listened to it at some point (pre-Djent era) and thought "this sounds really cool!" Even if you found it after Djent was established, you still would have thought it was cool. If you dismissed the song as not being Djent enough, then refer to my first point: the song is from over two decades ago. It can't sound exactly like a genre that hasn't been invented yet. This song chugs pretty damn low for any era. There's no reason to think this can't be considered Proto-Djent. There's band and artists in the 1960s that were doing elements of Heavy Metal and Electronica before the terms were coined. Something has to start somewhere.
