When I was a kid, I actually started thinking that King K Rule wanted to destroy DK Island as revenge for not being able to beat the classic arcade game. Needless to say I never got passed it as a kid, but I finally did it as an adult after watching this video.
@@plasma9706 I meant the fact that if you played well enough you got an extra life (which didn't happen in the previous run through). Didn't really help you though.
dannycookie After playing it again myself, yeah, that's true. Once you get 10,000 points you get an extra life, it's just the game doesn't let you know at all. No jingle, no extra Mario icon, nothing.

I have played this entire game. This damn arcade is the hardest. I've beat it once in ten years. Then I think you have to play it again to get the coin? Nope. I just do the popular glitch and get behind the door. One day I will have that damn coin
@@unokitsune you too? Is that part of getting old or something? I remember the day I beat it just for the banana. I was over the moon. Thank you! I've been trying to beat this and you helped show a working strategy. I have beaten the original Donkey Kong game many times but for some reason it has a different feel to it on DK64.
This is the arcade machine version, which is more difficult than the much more popular NES port. But I'd guess this emulation also feels different than the real arcade machine, as it seems to have some sound and input lag (as well as graphical glitches)
I would intentionally skip this part to complete the other levels and the astronaut level for the Rare coin and cone back to it after everything else was taken care of
I have the og DK 64 mario64 ocarina of time, majora's mask, diddy Kong racing, starwars racer, and GoldenEye cartridges on my n64 and I can say that DK 64 is the worst!

Why on EARTH do you have to complete this to get to the boss 😭 Who made that decision instead of just having the coin for 100%ing. Took me about 3 hrs just to complete this stupid ass arcade game.
I was rusty at donkey kong.. took me about an hour for both modes but I was having fun I don't think it really is too bad only I wish it gave you three lives like in the arcade
The lack of creativity of the creators of this game is absurd, they repeat two bosses, several minigames repeated throughout the levels, and they even make this crappy minigame mandatory to finish the game, then people don't know why this game received so much hate at the time who launched
Love replaying this game and completing it all the way. Dreaded this part every time 😂
I remember this took me an hour due to the ONE life you get. I miss DK 64

I agree.
*Rool
One of the most frustrating tasks in the game. Took forever to beat this.
So funny Mario or Jump Man is in love with a N64 coin
The single extra life this game gives you is a liability if anything...
That is not an extra life. It's still a one life or death thing. That "L=02" is the phase, NOT your life counter.
...i learned that the hard way.

play in console or emulator?
So, given that he's in the original Donkey Kong game, technically, Mario is indeed in Donkey Kong 64.
Jump man. He is technically a different character.

I have 3 questions
1. Why is this so hard?
2. One life?! Are you kidding me?
3. WHY IS THIS SO BLOODY HARD?!
Because the piece of shit drunken drug addicts who programmed it WORSHIP DEATH and want players to suffer it as much as possible so they can profit.
Till the end I forgot it was dk64

I abused save states for this, not sorry
This is better than the original
Fun fact: goldeneye was supposed to have an emulator for the spaceman game (atleast thats what ive heard)

The only way i was able to beat this was playing it on my wii u since I can create save states whenever I'm about to die.
I’m surprised that Nintendo and Rareware would create such weaklings.
What weaklings?
I dont have a lever on my nitendo 64 version of the game how do i fix this
do you have the expansion pack

Michael Castellano Animal Crossing Gamecube, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii U
Meester Tweester what games are hidden in smash?
None. There were previews in Brawl that would allow you to play up to five minutes of various NES games like SMB, Super Metroid, and Kid Icarus.
I fucking hate that flame!
Why do people keep saying this is so hard? Is it somehow harder than the original game?
the game is the same, but you only get one life instead of three
