Here is a Review followup where I re-examine the Undying Dragon and Unearthed Royalty quests, which as many of you have already pointed out - is not broken or as bad as I initially thought. However, my verdict will still stand: play for the multiplayer, not the single player. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/agyfQb5zFmE/v-deo.html Edit: And as of Patch 1.1.1 on February 18th, 2019: there's been an important change to the "Undying Dragon" quest: ua-cam.com/video/4pD8ZUJIprI/v-deo.html
23:23 Just completed the Undying Dragon mission, that isn't a bug. While the game doesn't tell you... keys aren't generic, each is associated to a specific lock, so there are a few times where you pick a key up and you have to find the correct door to use it (a bit of an hassle, they should've distinguished keys and locks apart better). The dragon boss is actually found inside a secret passage in a wall that leads to a different locked door. That door you couldn't open is actually the return path after defeating the boss, if you tackle him before the other dragon on the far left of the level. Really enjoying the game honestly. Mostly indulging in multiplayer, but man does it feel nice. No noticeable lag even with people from other regions, everyone is super chill and the built in chat system breaks through language barriers. It's really easy to build a party even with random people. All the characters are super fun to play with. Definitively recommend it.
Also, me and my friends did the Unearthing quest last night. When you get to the chest area go to the uppermost left side of the room and zoom in on the mural, it will mark which chest is the correct one. It is a bit cryptic to know about it, as we had to find the answer ourselves; however, once you know this the stage is infinitely easier and quicker to do. Oh, and if you zoom in on the murals before each area of the temple on your way to the chest room, it will signify which side's poison will not actually poison you, making it much easer if you are playing a class that isn't Shinobi.
@@skeletankmcgraw7343 Oh yeah. There's actually a NPC in that stage that tells you to "look closely" at the tablets to find your way through the traps and to uncover secrets, and she really drives that point across, but on your first run you wouldn't really think that a platforming game would have you thinking outside the box enough that the camera zoom feature would actually have a function there. It's actually a really smart idea and pretty cool once you figure it out. There's also other interesting uses for the camera zoom, like if you're in a dark area with low visibility zooming in actually makes it easier to see by brightening up the screen a bit, while zooming out has the opposite effect. There's a lot of really cool small details like that.
For unearthed royalty and any other mission in the tomb area there is a trick to the hint tablets npcs talk to you about. You can't see the hint normally, you have to do something to see it.
25:07 I saw another streamer do this quest on his first try today. You were probably unlucky with the bug at the door and too low level for the second quest. Both are possible but the rewards are not great

Wow, the trailer for this game looks so good. The character designs and the lore are also incredible (Empress having a dragon arm so she basically plays like Zero from MMZ is just *chef's kiss*). This game had so many great ideas for such a repetitive, underwhelming gameplay experience. I really wish they'd picked a different gameplay loop than Monster Hunter or Diablo or whatever this is trying to emulate. Real missed opportunity to just have an Empress-centric single player game to be like IntiCreate's spiritual sequel to MMZ now they've split from Capcom.
Thanks for the review-- it's helped me see this game in a new light. I'm more likely to get it now than I was when I was watching the trailers. Now if only I could find some friends... 🤔
@@AshramIndustries ahh i will check again. Also if i recall, there is a mechanic where you can use over leveled weapons but loose the strength bonus or something.
The Witch's A-button skill isn't like the Warrior's Berserk mode. Rather, it lets you rapidly fire off any spell you prepare after activating it as many times as you want as long as you have the gauge for it.
yeah that's my only nitpick so far as well---if you give the player customization, why only 1 small piece of the character? I'd like full color control at least on clothing and armor....preferably on everything.
I am not a hundred percent sure but I think burn increases the damage you take. I play a lot of warrior and any time I get burned I go from tanking hits and countering to praying that I don't get hit by lower level enemies so I don't lose a quarter of my health.
Good job in the review, I'll still look forward on waiting for the physical but out of curiosity on that dragon quest with keys, would the amount change if you had a full party searching for the treasure abit better? But I could see certain flaws that could be annoying and hopefully patch up single player to be abit better. But either way I definitely can't wait for this game and hope it does pretty well!
That is the problem with the megaman fanbase they are all "hope" and not support... apparently this game failed and the reviews gave them a "6/7 out of 10" not bad but not great either
Tl;dr I recommend Advanced Attackers for new players(Shinobi especially with Lock-on), they're more overpowered. The first thing you need to do is hit + and select 'Control Help'. This tells you all of your attacks and abilities. But with the Witch you'll want to be fast with the spells, at least at first. Also it's very Monster Hunter, with items as well. Make sure to equip healing items before a mission in your quickslot! Been playing this a lot, running through with all characters. I would recommend the Shinobi/Witch for new players even though they're listed as more 'advanced'. Shinobi has ridiculous damage output and stun capabilities(R) and the Witch can heal herself constantly(extremely useful and intuitive as her healing spell is just a circle on the controller, (B,Y,X,A,B then Y)) and power herself up(B,X x4). Also using her spells is really fun and feels extremely gratifying. TIP: Practice abilites for all characters in town! Also this game has a Diablo-esque chest in town. Can share items found with all characters. Use 'Load Game' for a new character to avoid deleting the other classes. While testing them, with Shinobi I had NO problem going through the first ogre quest you get after the tutorial, while other characters I really struggled with. Especially the 'tank' character (blue man), he's just too slow, I can't time his attacks and avoid with him. The damage output and stun for Shinobi is just too good and almost broken. Also the mobility is unbelievably good (double jump and wall jump). Loving it.
Welp seems like I gonna had a very bad time as my internet sucks to actually connect the switch to any multiplayer games. Well I just hope they somewhat balance the solo run then.
